For everyone who is interested in the LD Systems, look into the one below this one as well. The 28 G2, runs for about 1,200 per stick. 2 of those will handle most medium size events. I have those plus the Maui 5 for ceremony. Love love love LD systems. .

Hey Rick. Just bought the Maui 44G2’s over the weekend. Got a great deal from NLFX ($5,000 shipped). Was looking at the Bose 32 ‘w/Sub 2 (was too expensive and kinda unstable), the DB ES1203 (not great bass from the double 12) and the Evox 12 (out of stock everywhere and price keeps rising)
Thanks for the video and review. Love the speakers. Gonna rock them at most of my 50+ weddings this year.

So... what rraditional system would you compare them to? How do they stack against a pair of 18" subs and 12" tops from the PRX line for example? I am getting back into this industry and here in Mexico we make outdoor weddings 90% of the time, so bass and spl are the big concern for me

I put them up againts a pair of 15 subs and 12 inch tops. But the clarity on the high mid is above that of a prx line. Closer the like a vrx line array clarity

I love good sounding speakers as much as the next guy, but I can’t help but wonder if 99 out of 100 clients wouldn’t know the difference in sound from these to jbl eons from 2003.

I think most people do subconsciously recognize good sound - there’s obviously a limit though. I’d guess in general each price tier is somewhat distinguishable, but not the different ones within each tier.

    • @kapisithekid2843

That’s what I say. One of the greatest DJs mentioned that we, as DJs do all these mixes, scratches, and buy great equipment. But do we do it because our clients want it, or is it us. I believe the crowd enjoys the good music because it takes them to memory lane, and at the same time they are grateful for how the sound is projected to them, if this makes sense. Other than that, there’s nothing wrong with upgrading if money is not an issue. We as humans are never satisfied.

Hi, i own two Maui 28 G1 colums, and i can comfortably handle places with 100/120 people on party volume level. Now i want to up it to 150/170 guest. Would ONE G44 G2 colum be louder then my double 28 G1's? Or is it better to buy two 28 G2 colums? The Maui 28 G2's are much louder then the first generation (6DB increase?). The good thing about starting with one 44 G2 is that i can buy a second column at a later stage (if i ever need it). having just one colum makes it even easier to set up. What about the stereo image when you only have just one 44 tower? Any suggestions?

Funny how DJs who are getting a free pair of $6000 speakers describe them as “amazing” and everybody else just think they are WAY overpriced for what they are. No mixer, no DSP, $6000. “Amazing”. You can’t be serious. Even the Bose L1 32 are good value for money when compared to these.
The dance floor looks so sad with no light. So dark, wow… And people still listen to “turn down for what” and “shots” like it’s 2012 lol. And get your assistant something else than a pair of jeans haha, it’s a wedding and you’re charging the couple thousands! It’s ok if the guests dress like they’re at Costco, they aren’t paid to be there. You are, show some respect lol.
Love your work man, you put a lot of passion in what you do, it’s inspiring!

They have dsp there is a whole app for them. And as I said there amazing but they should be they cost 6000. Which is insane cus you can buy a lot of speakers for 6k like subs and tops.
Really most DJs I know never use built in features or prefer to not have them as it just adds complexity
In the production word we hate speakers with all that extra bs. I want to use a dedicated mixer and have the speakers give an accurate sound as to what I am sending it.
Lighting is to the request of the client not my choice of course. White only even after a lot of pics and vids. Still just white only.
Assistants don't need to dress up to the nines. Jeans and a branded polo is perfectly acceptable. They are always in the background. Agree to disagree. That's my stand point.

The microphone in your in view promotion is full of echos. It sounds like the mic on the stand is a side address mic and you are using it as an end address mic. Could you check the pattern on that mic so it fixes the audio issue for your next video. Not sure what mic that is as I don't recognize it at the moment. To reduce mixer clutter, recommend the Behringer XR18. It has 16 combo XLR/TRS jacks. Two of the jacks are high Z for instruments, and there is a stereo Aux in for your iPad, or DJ controller. Run the entire thing from a tablet as the console does not contain a surface of knobs and faders. As such, it can be placed on stage like a stage box to take in all the mics, instruments, etc and feed all the monitors and speakers. It includes a Noise gate on each XLR input, an EQ in each input, and a compressor on each input. It contains 4 Effects sends with stereo effects returns and a whole library of various effects including reverb, delays, guitar tube profiles, etc.

@@DJRickWeb Well that explains the audio quality. Expected high audio quality from a DJ. LOL. I get it, a quick phone wrap up. The mic made it look like it had production value.

@RickWebb I like your videos but I can’t see you stroke the Maui Systems like there the best thing since sliced bread. I have to strongly disagree using these Maui speakers for main events. I can see using them for Cocktail, solo musician, conference or ceremony. The YORKVILLE PSA1’s are the way to go especially for the price. Let’s leave the Maui systems for the retirement homes and the bedroom DJs.

ES1203 provides very little bass under 80Hz. Not bad if you want to bring a separate sub, but kinda defeats the point. All midrange and no tweeters for upper frequencies.
