Great buy right now especially with Delta emulator now on App Store. Paid subscription is worth it if you own an iPad to play on a bigger screen and app layout is pretty but subscription isn’t necessary at all. Great video man 👍🏽
I just bought one and I don’t regret it at all picked it up at Best Buy guy was telling me to get the portal better . 😄 he did not convince me I got a 15 pro max and looks good also best bang for your buck 💯😂
What was the manufacturer thinking?
After watching a few videos, I searched EXTRA for the 2nd generation variant for “Apple iPhone Android USB-C” when ordering and then ordered accordingly. Even if the manufacturer is probably completely surprised ... I actually have a very rare iPhone 15 Pro.
Then I realized that the controller doesn't work with the iPhone at all. To make it compatible, you need an Android phone with USB-C - that makes sense, right?
The best thing: I really had to search for a loooooong time to find someone in my environment with an Android phone ... but I managed it. Unfortunately, the controller then shows firmware version 1.2.1 ... along with the note that this is the latest version = no firmware update. The Backbone website then states that the controller for the iPhone 15 only works from version 1.2.2.
That's what I call checkmate.
I'm sending the space junk back now, and I'm buying a controller that works with the iPhone 15 Pro, just not from Backbone.

As someone who owns both. I’ll tell you that the portal will give you a better gaming experience hands down. The backbone is cool but then you lose access to your phone, which eats up battery life. Not to mention playing on a tiny screen kinda sucks.
I travel a lot. The backbone seems like a no Brainer for easier traveling

I always wonder why no one ever mentions the Logitech G cloud it does everything PS portal does and more. Congratulations to all the winners. Brother I'm happy for you and it's good to see your subs going up.
Thank you brother!!! I agree! The cloud is such a solid handheld and it's an outright gaming handheld with full tablet capabilities! You can even switch it from Launcher to tablet mode, etc. I think it's because its' a Logitech product ppl are very dismissive of it!
Are the face buttons (square triangle cross circle) more quiet than those on first gen ? Because i didn't liked their super clicky sound

is it comfortable to use with devices other than a mobile phones when you dont have a phone attached to it? Isnt it to light and do fingers have a decent way to be placed and rest on the back?
So you don't have to pay for the subscription to get it work on other devices?
I actually only got this on my radar because I realize the Portal just isn't for me!

Hey Lex! Agreed! If they open the portal up, it’s an automatic top notch peripheral due to its physical specs but in its current state it’s very “PlayStation Enthusiast Only” unfortunately!

Can this work if I want to play at work during dead times and still have my PS5 on at home?
Yep, this will follow the same Remote Play setup as all other devices. If your PS5 is in rest mode, you will be good to go and remote play from this as it will turn on the PS5 over the network!!

lol I actually don’t! I think it’s sweet and if you’re PS only it’s solid! My buddy Corey from FreakyTech Reviews raves about it and we’ve chatted about it lot. I just think there are some shortcomings that aren’t the best for everyone. But by all means, if you’re PS only focused and have PS peripherals already it’s not that much of an investment. But, if you have to buy a headset along with it, and you need a browser, etc. there are other options at better value points. Both realities exist. It’s a cool tool and may not be the best value for everyone is all! Cheers mate!!

The portal has alot of haters. The backbone does not compare to the portal when playing PlayStation games sir. The analogs on the backbones are terrible. And they lack the dual sense features. The screen on the portal is bigger and PlayStation has said the portal is the best device to use remote plan on. The backbone is specifically made for mobile gaming, it just happens to remote play as well.
Actually PlayStation just has excellent remote play services regardless of what you play on. At the end of the day it’s a matter of preference. The portal is fine but they should’ve just made a PSP. Also who cares about having dual sense features? Spider-Man is amazing on Backbone and Portal. Would you rather have big and clunky or small and convenient? That’s all it boils down to.
