    Thank you Tracey for this fantastic week. It was like I was there with you. You make me laugh. In regards to Netflix, we have just finished watching Good Girls and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved your "Living Dead" Cake and would love to see how you actually made the hill part of the cake and I loved how you did the tree. I can't wait to spend another week with you. Keep them coming.

    Hi it's nice to see another person packs so much into each day,and then dies in front of net flicks ! We watch a lot of net flicks I will try and suggest some for you but I'll have to ask my husband as I can never remember the names of things! It's my age! I was the same as you with driving but I was given a company car two days after passing my test which was a crash course,I was exspected to drive all over the country on motorways etc and this is the days before sat nav ! Not quite sure how I got through that stage alive! I now still don't like driving where I don't know but I would say I now drive a automatic and that has taken a lot of the pressure away,I'm loving your videos with your beautiful family ,my daughter would kill for a zip wire to be in our local park,however I would be terrified! I love looking at your food you prepare it gives me idears as I don't mind cooking but I never know what to cook so thankyou,where are your bunny ears? Are they for public engagements only! Lol xx

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 років тому

      ha ha yes, so much to do, so little time! Thank-you so much for the lovely comment :D My meals currently include waffles and beans, I only film the ones that look mildly good HAHAHAHA My bunny ears are up in my room now, I lost them for a while, found them again, but now I have a broken floppy ear!! LOL x

    Just finished binging all 14 seasons of Grey's Anatomy which was surprisingly entertaining. Have the Staircase on my watch list, looks like a good one! Probably going to catch up with Great British Baking Show and the Handmaids Tale next.
    That playground looks like fun! Definitely probably not allowed in the playgrounds in US, lol!

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 років тому

      Oh I've heard of that! Not sure what the story line is though, Staircase was unreal! You know when you just sit there thinking, HOW ON EARTH!? Oooo I've heard Handmaid Tale is good, but it's not on Netflix :(
      ha ha do you not have zip lines there?

    So nice to see another cake persons week! I bake mon-fri cos I am always worried cakes will dry out, I specialise in buttercream cakes and store them in the fridge. Is it the ganache and fondant that keeps yours nice and moist? I don’t think I could do it with the ones I do but it would make things a lot easier! Btw, I would die for that link cake!!!

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 років тому

      Thanks! As long as the sponge cake is protected from air then it acts as a barrier - whether that's ganache, buttercream or sugarpaste. I don't refrigerate mine as I feel it dries the sponge out - a slice of fudge cake sitting on the worktop was more moist than the one I put in the fridge. I also use sugar syrup when I come to stack and fill the cakes which keep them moist whilst I decorate them over the next few days. I would go absolutely barmy if I has to bake on multiple days because my kitchen just gets ridiculously full when I'm trying to decorate! haha
      I know we never get any 'spare time!' but if you do, bake two cakes on a Tuesday or Wednesday, pop one in the fridge, and one on the worktop (covered in buttercream) and eat a slice on Saturday and see what you think :D It might surprise you and you'll be able to streamline your week much better. I only take orders on for Fri/Sat/Sun dates so my baking days are all similar (Tuesday or Wednesday) it's very rare I take on a midweek cake just because it throws my little rota out of the window and stresses me out haha x

    • @Bubbles8818
      @Bubbles8818 6 років тому

      Thanks so much this is so helpful! I feel like with buttercream I have no option but to put in the fridge esp in this heat, but I have worked to make really moist cakes so they can withstand it. It's sort of an annoying conundrum! I guess I could bake them all one day, wrap them in cling film maybe then only put them in the fridge the day I buttercream them before they go out the next day. Thanks so much I really appreciate you getting back to me!

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 років тому +1

      Yes this heat has been a killer! Hoping for it to be a little cooler haha. Yes, give it a try and see what you think, I feel a sense of relief once the last cakes come out because I know I dont have to bake again until the next week haaha x

      Thank-you so much! It would be great if it did, but at the moment my workload is too crazy for it haha. If eventually in years to come my UA-cam could take the place of the income of a few cakes per month I should be able to manage it weekly LOL

    I live in a tropical climate so working in the heat is my norm (thank you aircon). Ganache just doesn’t set here unless you refrigerate it. Painful 😣
    Loving the vlogs. Can definitely relate to a lot as a decorator 😂 X

      Ooohh I keep scrolling past that one - is it done in the style of a recreation instead of the real people being interviewed etc? I think that's what put me off a bit!
      Oh gosh that sounds awful, I wouldn't be able to cope! lol

    • @melwalmsley8267

      Yes it’s more a drama than a reality style show but done really well 👍🏼
      Ok I’m off to make some fondant decorations that I have to dry for 2 days in a special dehumidifier box. And it’s winter here! 😂🙄
