    Great unit, you mentioned pressurized fermentation, this has been a real game changer for me, for years I have been wanting to brew lagers and I bought your fermzilla and have been fermenting at 19C under pressure with lager yeast, finally there is a method other than the 6 weeks method from the past, with summer coming up I might have to invest in one of these, the amount of money we are saving here on beer by brewing ourselves is mind blowing, the extra money saved can be used to buy things like this. cheers 🍺

      Problem with home brewing, the tools and accessories cost alot more than what you save by brewing yourself, unless your an alcoholic. x) I mean this fermentation fridge alone is like 2 years worth of store bought beer.

    Really clever and well thought out fermentation chamber. However, I can't see myself putting two fermenters in simultaneously to follow the same temperature profile - I just don't/can't brew that much beer at once. Therefore, are you considering making a mini RAPT Fermentation Chamber that will take a single 30l fermenter (and cost less)?

      A dual zone fermenting chamber and kegerator combo would be cool too. then you could have one fermzilla fermenting in the top and be serving off one in.the bottom. Or fit 3 cornies and a gas tank. id never be able to afford it but I can watch youtube videos about it.

      @KegLand If you're interested in wider 'fermentation' applications of RAPT, happy to chat.
      RAPT FC range of -2°C to 50°C is useful. If it could be pushed to 60°C with a little help, it would be ideal temperature for slow burn Maillard reactions ( Noma restaurant make black fruits/nuts/vegetables, including Black Garlic and Black Apples). They also have some life changing lactic ferments, like their lacto-fermented plumbs---best at 28°C for 5 days.
      Koji is also very versatile. Koji Alchemy authors @larderdb make a 2 year prosciutto in 2 months by inoculating the ham with spores directly. Works great dry aging steak, it just breaks everything down and adds so much umami.

It was my wife's bribe to me, to buy her a new house that is new but mimics the historic homes in the oldest part of Jacksonville, FL (near St Augustine, FL). (She loves old historic type homes but doesn't like the problems associated with old homes, so I guess you build a new home that mimics the old homes without the problems and add in a bit of modern technology.) She gets a new house and I get a 500 sq. ft. area to do whatever I want, which works for me as I already have people signing up to come by and enjoy free beer.

    The compressor motor are drive by inverter type or not?

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  2 роки тому

      Inverter motors are not really done in these small appliances. Inverter drives are required in much larger compressors that have high torque requrement. They are often sold for air conditioning that is 1kw power and above as the startup current requirement is quite high. They are sold as being more energy efficient as a second advantage but the reality is with these larger AC units they have no choice due to the torque requirement. This fridge has a small and quite energy efficient 0.2kw compressor so no inverter is necessary.

      Yes this is something that will likely be possible soon. We have an I2C port on the temp controller board that we have not mentioned to anyone yet. This port on the board is easy to get to and you can run the wire to pickup and control humitidy. It will not be until late 2022 when this is available but the good news is that this upgrade kit will most likely be backwards compatible due to the I2C port already on the board.
      Also as this system is internet connected we can upgrade the firmware over the air (OTA). As new firmware is finished to enable humidity control we will push these upgrades out so customers can benefit from these OTA upgrades instantly.

    Hi will this connect to the tilt ?

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  3 роки тому

      Hey John. The RAPT fermentation chambers have wifi and bluetooth hardware onboard. As a result the fridge can recieve bluetooth beacon and then relay this up through the RAPT fermentation chamber to the internet so the data can be displayed on the RAPT portal. This means the RAPT fermentation chamber will essencially be like a wifi/bluetooth range extender repeater.
      We are currently getting this to work with the RAPT Hydrometers that you see here:
      www.kegland.com.au/rapt-pill-hydrometer-thermometer-wifi-bluetooth.html
      Once we have finishe all the integration with our own RAPT Pill Hydrometer we will then look at integration with things like the tilt down the track.
      With that said our RAPT Pill Hydrometer has wifi and bluetooth, more accurate, is made from BPA and Bisphenol free materials (Tilt is not as it's made from polycarbonate) and our RAPT Pill Hydrometer is a fraction of the cost. So I really don't know why someone would want to purchase the tilt over our alternative but as you can imagine I am a bit biased.

      @@KegLand Hey Thanks. I already have 2 tilts (Had them for 4 years) so thats fantastic. I purchased the RAPT fridge yesterday. Pretty sure I was the 1st one after Oli put them up at 12noon. So look forward to receiving it and setting it up. Thanks

      i @@KegLand I would purchase the pill today if I could get in the US. Is it possible for you to provide the partnumbers of the various reducers etc? I would use the SS KL pressure cap that goes to Duotight rather than the plastic tho. I think you could make an add on kit just for this purpose, with a pressure transfer jumper etc.

    damn everything coming with duotights thats a big no from me unfortunately unless it could be clamped in

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  3 роки тому

      can can use barb and clamp if you like but from our experience the duotight fitings work great. A common issue we seem to have is when they do not get inserted to the correct depth but this is getting solved at the moment as we are putting markings on the fittings to show correct insertion dept and this makes it easier.

      @@KegLand im glad its being solved at the moment but it cost me a lot of money, time and empty gas bottles. I'll never use a duotight again in my life time. I love your products though, I just hate your poorly designed duotights.

      @@thepontiff7505 I am sorry you have had this experienc. I just wish we knew more about your particular failure as I am confident we would have a well engineered solution but it's difficult without knowing more detail about the nature, and location of the leak.
      I should also note that this RAPT chamber includes no duotight fittings as standard so if you did not want to use them you dont have to.

      This will probably be available soon. We have various integration that we need to complete but we are actively working on the code base so this is possible.

      The shipping price for a container has gone from 2.5k to 10k per 40ft container. So when the price comes down we will also revise our price too.
