The Purple X being able to absorb multiple creatures isn’t weird. Fusion shows this multiple times, most prominently with the SA-X. Remember the 2nd phase is a fusion of Samus’s Power Suit and a Hornoad. This is also seen with the aquatic Zebesians in the water area, as they are combined fishlike creature.
I like to think Aeon is a side effect of the X. SR388 has large reserves of Aeon because it has lots of X residue. Because Metroids constantly consume Aeon in the form of X, they mutate and evolve only on SR388. Samus just finished an adventure where she consumed a metric ton of X, so her body can now use it’s effects as long as she has the stamina. (Hense why phantom cloak costs hp) Ravenbeak is utilizing Aeon the old fashioned way- using reserves derived from inert X. It think the Thoha tribe created the metroids so the could safely Harvest aeon, but didn’t realize the mutagenic effects on Metroids.
The Metroids also mutate and evolve in the Prime sub-series, and in different ways in each title no less. They have vastly different life cycles in each Prime title, and in the main series we only see the same alpha > gamma > zeta > omega > queen cycle because they were clones from the infant Samus found and kept in laboratories. They even confirmed back during Super Metroid that the one Samus found had the genetic markers to become a queen when they started extracting its DNA, but that it mutated into a giant larval form because the Space Pirates were experimenting on it. I don't think it's connected to Aeon energy specifically. I also don't think it's connected to the X, since the couple of times we DO see an X infect something with Aeon capabilities, the resulting X copy can't use them.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio respectfully I heartily disagree. I think similarly to Aeon, Metroids mutate in response to Phazon, but down a different line, since the catalyst is different. As for X not being able to use Aeon powers, of course not, Aeon is a side product they create, like we do with CO2. Aeon is produced by their bodies, hence why the mutate anything they infect. Plus since it’s natural to their bodies, they don’t experience the mutagenic effects.
I mean it could also be reverse. That Aeion is a naturally occurring Ressource on SR388 and that the X are a product of its mutagenic properties. Once thing I am certain of. Aeion and the X are undoubtedly connected. They are the only creatures of SR388 which do not drop Aeion when dying
I think with the E.M.M.I and the central units, Samus is using the Metroid ability to absorb and transfer abilities just like when "the baby" stole the hyper beam and passed it to Samus in Super Metroid. Of course, it's also apparent that the power suit can adapt and integrate foreign technology. Samus does this in Fusion when she downloads upgrades from the federation, and she does it TON in the Prime trilogy.
So I actually have the answer to how samus acquires an E.M.M.I. power up. If you look at how she touches a central unit you can see a small amount of its essence being absorbed by samus before receiving an omega cannon. She is using her metroid DNA to absorb power, although probably not knowing it. She does something similar with E.M.M.I. when she puts her hand on it after destroying one.
The EMMI unit ad that we see early in the game shows they have DNA incorporated into them somehow. Some kind of organic components seem to be necessary to their design. Probably based off of Aurora technology would be my guess. As someone else said, it could also be that her own organic suit components are able to "absorb" data similarly to the X, possibly as a result of the Metroid vaccine.
@@Kerrpllardy Given the X can download the data, and that organic components are a big part of Chozo technology, maybe they use RNA or DNA as a storage medium. That's a potential technology currently being researched in the real world.
@@OtakuUnitedStudioI disagree, the federation learned their lesson with the security bot (and probably to a greater degree with mother brain) At the same time anything with shape memory, or what I can only assume is carbon fiber polymers, has a thing called polarity. We are the same way, sinews and tissues that adapt to the environment, only ours are protein based My point is that they have to be able to carry out fluid motion somehow despite being inorganic. A function of electric impulses and programming that grants them stature. (I'd like to point out that these are mimics of the actual Chozo statues, life imitating art) What's actually going on is that Samus is tapping into the Varia suit's transformative properties. It's a polymer no doubt, but it's also based on Chozo architecture, the same field of science that engineered the metroids Metroids are to the X as snakes are to us. They source their prey based on signatures (in snakes case by heat) considering the fact that the X can hide in other hosts and go undetected Samus, the suit, and her Metroid DNA are working in tandem to the point where this function started to become intuitive While Samus herself is using her brain and Thoha acrobatics to cinch in a fight, the suit and the Metroid in her trace the mobility of the enemy. So much that it can be read like Chi or a tuft of smoke indicating that there was once a fire
There's another possible option for where the EMMIs and their powerups come from. The manga shows that 10 Chozo were evacuated off of Zebes by the Federation 3 years before the events of Zero Mission. And they've never been heard from again.
The Zombie Researchers from Fusion seem to be a confirmation that the X can combine whatever DNA they wish, as the manual for Fusion suggests that they were humans mixed with slime creature DNA to make them more viable as a combat form. Also of note is that Kraid was completely submerged under the lava, yet seemed to be assimilated into the X that infected Raven Beak as seem by it's Kraid-like face, suggesting that the X can also survive in the lava.
I'd like to know which exact rooms you can see the elevator shaft samus used in the prologue. That was a detail I missed, despite playing it multiple times.
Okay, so I want to bring up a couple things, one about Artaria and the other about the X-Parasite. Since Artaria freezes over when the reactor in Cataris is shut down- and presumably, the reactor in Cataris didn't come with the planet- I always assumed that being frozen over was actually Artaria's natural state and the Chozo melted it down, not the other way around. I also wanted to mention that we have actually seen Purple X before: specifically the Varia and Wave Core-X's in Fusion. The Wave Core-X in particular is a very vibrant violet, similar to Raven Beak's X. I always sort of assumed that Raven Beak's X was a Core-X, just without the shell (perhaps to aid in absorbing more creatures?)
When it comes to an X Parasite exhibiting traits of multiple hosts, that isn't unique to the purple X. The final battle with the SA-X in Metroid Fusion shows the SA-X mutating into a mixture of Samus and the hornoad that was the SA-X's original host when Samus first encountered it.
Environmental story-telling is one of the things the Metroid games do really well, and one of the things I like most about them. Some nice insights in this video.
14:00 Many X combine traits from multiple hosts, very notably a bunch of late-game enemies in Dread like the Quetshocker, as well some creatures in Fusion like the Geruboss, which is specifically different from Geruta-X, and the SA-X's final form.
14:00 Actually we see combinations of species in Metroid Fusion, such as the half-fish half-space pirate fusions in Fusion, so this ability to merge DNA isn't anything new. Not to mention the SA-X that Samus fights having a monstrous form at the end being a combination of different species.
The beginning skit brought back memories of early internet fake Super Metroid rumors, specifically laying a bomb exactly over the eyes of each boss statue to unlock access to am area called Warfair with all of the items in the game and maybe more
I feel that may be the case. As they probably have more metroid cells on hand, considering they were able to replicate so many on the bsl station. Couple with them having some knowledge of the effects on samus? I can see some faction trying it.
Those metroids are liable to imprint on Samus in the same way Super did. Granted that now that it has been indicated that Samus will transform under extreme pressure, they have all the more reason to like to her, perhaps going so far as to try and resemble her It's not a true science, but the Metroid do evolve based on their environment. I'm not saying they won't have fangs, their metamorphosis from gamma to omega is based on fighting other creatures for resources. They probably adopt that form to be the dominant life force on whatever planet they inhabit The recent alien films actually illustrate this theory to a degree. Sometimes they can be snakes, sometimes they can be hominids. And freaking David was experimenting with all of this
Samus has been gaining abilities from consuming X. Why would this not hold true for the Metroids, causing them to gain some measure of the X's abilities?
I've been under the impression that the Z-57 X parasite survived its encounter with Samus (although its protective shell was consumed by the lava), from which point it went on to absorb Kraid's remains before finding its way to Samus and Raven Beak. It wouldn't be the first purple Core-X either, as Metroid Fusion featured the purple and green Barrier Core-X and the purple B.O.X./Wave Core-X. (The Core-X were color coded according to the abilities they carried.)
My thought was that the purple X was just the core one from the Experiment. It fell in the lava, sure, but I'm pretty sure the X are able to survive in lava just fine in Fusion, and wherever lava is in Dread. Kraid also descended into the lava, so his remains could've been absorbed somewhere, leading to the amalgamation of DNA. And it's in it's base freefloating form instead of surrounded by its core because... well, it'd look weirder if it weren't. Maybe it shed it's shell intentionally to infect Raven Beak- if Samus can't absorb a Core X without breaking its shell, then maybe it can't infect someone without shedding it either, and it takes a bit to regrow?
X parasites being able to replicate and combine multiple hosts is nothing special, it was shown in metroid fusion multiple times with enemies fusing together, like that weird fish pirate, I think it also happens a couple of times with dread's enemies. I think the reason Raven Beak's X parasite is purple is to draw a distinction between it an everybody else, you know... making the final boss a little bit more special. And so that you can recognize it if you decide to go back to kraid's lair and see it fly off. If it wasn't a unique color, the already hard to spot and interpret easter egg would be even harder to understand. Although that is not a story reason. But honestly I also don't think there are story reasons for x parasites that recharge missiles to be a different color... it is mostly just gameplay convenience. I do think aeon abilities not being present when using the metroid suit is due to the suit unconsciously absorbing any energy it has available, which is why Adam stopped Samus from touching the ship. Although I wish this wasn't the case lol, loosing flash shift suddenly always disorients me. And makes the frantic escape feel much slower than when you play the game normally
I feel like this series is going to go the direction of captain America’s super soldier serum. Ravenbeak stated that Samus is now the perfect weapon, so maybe the next game will involve samus running from the galactic federation as they try to use her unique genetic condition as a weapon of mass destruction?
Please.. when they made Samus originally, they didn't ecen think of a real backstory or persona. Sure there might be some chunks of storytelling in Dread, but I could bet they didn't really sit down and properly think about it.. not like Dark Souls game do with their many layers of world building. Metroid has always felt like an afterthought (even if it works because of it).. specially the change to Aeon abilities. You are probably doing more thinking than they've done so far.
I would want the next games to be the federation hunting Sami’s, because she is now the most dangerous being in the galaxy. Either to kill her or to get her DNA.
Samus being able to gain powers either from artificial or organic seems to be an because the chozo made it to be the ultimate modular tool, so it can interface with anything. We used to think since luminoth or the GF had knowledge of birb magic enabled it but it might be more vague. Head canon is that normal beings have a small amount of aeon energy and that's what Metroids consume, and we only see it on sr388 because the concentration was so high? (ALSO Croco plush pls!)
The greatest mystery for me is why the metroids were programmed to be enemies of the mawkin. The mawkin were allies of the troha and promptly answered their call for help when the metroids got out of control. Only after trapping them that raven beak betrayed the troha. So the troha had no reason to programm the metroids that way when they had the chance, by the time they had a reason to do it, they no longer had a way as the metroids were already sealed
I feel like the overall map structure is something I left a really long comment about on a different video Edit: I disagree that the EMMI had chozo abilities installed before launch. The exposition text says the abilities they have are a result of adapting to the environment they ended up in. I think her Metroid DNA waking up is why she can take the abilities for herself. Edit2: she can definitely still flash shift in the Metroid suit. Also speed boost.
I only found one secret from Metroid Dread and that was Kraid. Was he a clone (lame) or the real deal (how). I believe Dread’s story, gallery, and the previous main canon games respond everything else.
Here's one plot thread I never understood about Dread and is one of the reasons why I don't think the X Outbreak was a good addition to the story: By the time Raven Beak and the Mawkin arrived on SR388 for the first time, the Metroids have more or less taken over the planet, with the mutations ruling over the lower caverns; how in the hell did an X manage to infect a Mawkin soldier when at that point they were driven to the brink of extinction, much less infect a soldier that went unnoticed until back on ZDR?
Also, raven beak took a long time to deal with it, metroid, metroid prime trilogy, metroid 2, super metroid and metroid fusion happened during that time. We saw that a few hours after being free the x dominated the entire planet and replaced all life, so it is impossible that they actually escaped the ship, otherwise we would have found natural life in the beginning of the game. But it is also weird to believe raven beak took all that time and lost all members of his race to a threat that never mamaged out of the ship
I knew he was just joking in theorizing about scanning the amiibo in a specific order, but I was still a lil bummed he never came up with a prospective order.
About the EMMI having Samus's Power ups. We know that Chozo power ups are software that the suit turns into Hardware through Energy to Matter conversion. We also know that the Galactic Federation have at least a basic understanding of the Chozo software, enough so that Samus can download Upgrade Data. However they have not yet mastered the energy to matter conversion. So they had to split each power up between each EMMI so that they had enough space for the specific hardware of that power up. Otherwise, if one EMMI had the software for all power ups, but also have space for the Hardware, it would have to be fucking massive. This also explains why Samus can simply gain the abilities from the EMMI. she's gained foreign technology before, and technically this is all Chozo software except for the Spider magnet thing. So she should have no trouble absorbing the software for her own suit's use. A reminder that Chozo Technology is fucking ridiculous.
I don't know why you thought Aeon was available only on SR-388, to me it is like the basic life force, a force that has always been part of the universe and absorbed by metroids. Like the Force in Star Wars, it's a mystical part of every life form but not anyone can control it, Samus training and suit allow her and Raven Beak, and probably any other Chozo, to use it in specific ways to perform supernatural tasks. It's more of a retcon, I think we shouldn't see Aeon has not existing in Super Metroid, just not expressed through gameplay.
I see it more like a planetary energy field, unique to SR388, similar to how the Light energy the Luminoth harnessed is unique to Aether or Phazon is unique to Phaaze

I mean as far as the purple X Parasite, people have speculated that it absorbed either the body of the Kraid we fight or a piece of it. It's notable because the spike that Kraid fired at Samus in the cutscene is missing before we see the abomination at the end of the game. It specifically disappears after when the X as a whole are released from their captivity (I found out via the Looygi Bros channel). For the E.M.M.I.s to be using abilities like what Samus uses, there has always been an underlying hint or suspicion that the Federation in some way are trying to copy Samus' abilities to fulfill their own needs. I don't remember where I heard it from before but there IS a theory that The Space Pirates and the Federation are possibly working together under the table. Basically hinting at some level of corruption in the Federation. Ice Missiles being one of the key factors and some of the weapons that were being developed that Samus wasn't intended to be given while aboard the B.S.L. station in Fusion. Plus technically she stole and destroyed Federation property (the ship and station respectively), which could easily have led to an idea of the Federation putting out a galaxy wide warrant for Samus' arrest. Or was it they had Samus' abilities that Raven Beak drained from Samus at the start of the game? I mostly ask due to their internal codes having the initials of what powerup they have that Samus gets.
Cause canonically the original Ridley was killed for the last time in super, the version we killed in fusion was the frozen corpse of the clone of Ridley from other M

The experiment's ability might have been the spider ball given it's ability to ....climb to walls. I'm not sure if Aeion is what made the metroids evolve in SR388. Because we don't see any of that on Metroid Fusion and Other M
I think its something he mentioned in older videos. Something to do with Samus Returns adding some new lore after the fact. The one Chozo Memory that shows the Metroids mutating also shows Aeion present in the hatchery. Another shows that Aeion is like an energy source on other creatures on SR-388, so it could also be with the X-Parasites, causing the ones on BSL to evolve. Like he said then, doesn't flow perfectly with Other M. Again Its more of Samus Returns retroactively adding some lore.
I'm not sure what you mean since Other M has no Metroids evolve. The Metroids supposedly invulnerable to freezing would be a product of DNA manipulation by the scientists there, and that may have even been a lie by Adam. As for the Queen, that may be a natural stage of the Metroids and not a mutation since it was part of the Baby Metroids DNA, not to mention perhaps it was cloned in its mutated form, which is possible I think. So there really isn't any Metroids in Other M that conflict with the theory? Unless I'm forgetting something.

Based on what you said, I'm guessing Raven Beak experimented on Z-57 (which is why it was so recent, and not decayed) in order to figure out how he could use the hyper beam himself.
Kraid's belly-spike was embedded in a wall before the X were released, and disappeared after, strongly implying that said spike is where the X got Kraid DNA.
I've always wondered what energy Aeon really is. If we think of how it was introduced, the remake of M2 makes it canon pre-Super but Its left so vague. Hot take but what if Aeon is that secret energy Metroids thrive on, that energy that empowers Samus' suit with Mawkin abilities, the same energy that Space pirates couldn't trace. The energy Metroids suck from living hosts and possibly something that the X are made of since they were their natural predators. Hence why Metroids and X parasites are so synonymous now with you. I had always wondered and wow you're right that X core that burned was likely holding a hyper beam.
The EMMI are able to procedurally modify themselves, as stated by Raven Beak, which may imply that they gained their abilities from exploring their surroundings. This would also explain why the official art of the EMMI has them with no faceplates. This is a trait they all developed (overdeveloped in EMMI-02SM's case) later. The names, then, could have been designations assigned to them by Raven Beak and Quiet Robe, with the EMMI only having numbers be default (this then leads into the hilarious idea that Raven Beak named EMMI-01 "Pathetic").
The purple X also absorbed Kraid's belly spike. In the endgame when Raven Beak was taken over by the X, the face that splits open was actually Kraid's.
The purple X was actual using Kraid as the main body mostly. The Aeon work differently cause Samus return she does not have the metroid DNA, so her suit needs extrnal power source to generate her abilities, while Dread her metroid cells can generate its own Aeon, but after its reserve is depleted it start using her stamina to keep the abilites going. Raven beak most likely has a large reserve of Aeon, more likely having a advance suit compare to Samus, speically sense her orginal suit was destoryed in fusion. The EMMI I believe were programmed by Raven beak to have the abilities and using their technology, this is why Samus can absorbed the power ups from them, also the control node for the EMMI was a part of the MB project that the chozo built, so she might be getting the power ups through that. The hyperbeam was originally something her orginal suit could use, but when she lost her suit an was remade into the fusion suit it lost the power, Raven beak power suit was ment to be more advanced verison of Samus orignal suit and could use it, when she struck him in her metroid suit form the chozo tech in Raven beak armor was copy, simular to the EMMI power ups, to unlock the hyperbeam for her to use. That is my theory.
I kid you not, I was sure that the empy space in the top right corner of the map was to make space for a future area DLC with maybe a Ridley boss battle in it. I'm still bummed that that space was left empty, I still feel like it was done on purpose... That said, I know other people have already said this, but the Xs should be able to survive lava (I'm pretty sure we saw Xs in lava in Fusion) and they could all mix and match different hosts ever since Fusion (a great example are the fish Zebesians). Also, we've seen in past games that the GF has access to some kind of Chozo tech that is compatible with Samus's suit, like the Fusion upgrades, so I'm pretty sure that's how Samus got the Emmi's powers, she took the data the GF gave to them.
I thought it was obvious that Raven Beak stole her abilities at the start and distributed them amongst the EMMI, making them tougher challnges leading to her unlocking the Metroid abilities faster.
I know I’m a bit late but something that seemed to slip by me is do we know the origins of the fusion suit? I know what happened in fusion but my question is more so what IS the fusion suit. We know it’s organic but where did it come from? I don’t think it’s galactic federation technology. My theory is maybe that when samus attempts to summon the power suit at the start of fusion due to the og power suit being removed and the Metroid dna now inside her….maybe her trying summon her suit ends in the result of the fusion suit? That’s my guess but I was wondering if I missed something
So I know Samus can absorb life energy or whatever it is from others and even technology like the bots but technically she could do this before she got the Metroid dna. Could it be because of the chozo dna?
The font in the thumbnail caused me so much confusion because it looks like ‘my steries’ and I was just stuck thinking “what the hell is a sterie?” But to be fair, I am dumb of ass
one thing about series i over analyze in the architecture for the federation , like samus being in a cave, chozo structure or pirate base , the layout makes sense , Bird magic and aliens but for the humans / federation, it makes no sense and buy this i am talking about the BSL research station in Fusion and Other M , its death trap for and average person with no power ups, like how are you supposed to get any work done when you have to shine spark chain to get to your terminal ?, and all this after you've blown portions of the station and cause structural damage to get form one side to the other ?, can you image your first day at that lab?, " why is there a 200 ft gap and drop in this room and no railings ?", " so the doors around here can only be opened with missiles?..why?" , " i have to climb 400th vertical shaft to get to my work station, the f%^&, and what the hell is a morph ball??", lol , these are the things i think about
Raven Beak X is just raven beak and kraid combined and also i heard that kraids thingy that he shoots at the end of the bossfight dissapears when the x get released

If you look at how she touches a central unit you can see a small amount of its essence being absorbed by samus before receiving an omega cannon. She is using her metroid DNA to absorb power, although probably not knowing it. She does something similar with E.M.M.I. when she puts her hand on it after destroying one.
I figured that would be a given with the plot being she IS a metroid thanks to fusion

The EMMI unit ad that we see early in the game shows they have DNA incorporated into them somehow. Some kind of organic components seem to be necessary to their design. Probably based off of Aurora technology would be my guess.
As someone else said, it could also be that her own organic suit components are able to "absorb" data similarly to the X, possibly as a result of the Metroid vaccine.

What's actually going on is that Samus is tapping into the Varia suit's transformative properties. It's a polymer no doubt, but it's also based on Chozo architecture, the same field of science that engineered the metroids
Metroids are to the X as snakes are to us. They source their prey based on signatures (in snakes case by heat) considering the fact that the X can hide in other hosts and go undetected
Samus, the suit, and her Metroid DNA are working in tandem to the point where this function started to become intuitive
While Samus herself is using her brain and Thoha acrobatics to cinch in a fight, the suit and the Metroid in her trace the mobility of the enemy. So much that it can be read like Chi or a tuft of smoke indicating that there was once a fire

There's another possible option for where the EMMIs and their powerups come from. The manga shows that 10 Chozo were evacuated off of Zebes by the Federation 3 years before the events of Zero Mission. And they've never been heard from again.
The Zombie Researchers from Fusion seem to be a confirmation that the X can combine whatever DNA they wish, as the manual for Fusion suggests that they were humans mixed with slime creature DNA to make them more viable as a combat form. Also of note is that Kraid was completely submerged under the lava, yet seemed to be assimilated into the X that infected Raven Beak as seem by it's Kraid-like face, suggesting that the X can also survive in the lava.
Iirc one of Kraid's belly-button projectiles was still stuck in a wall when he died. That one disappeared only after the X were released.

Okay, so I want to bring up a couple things, one about Artaria and the other about the X-Parasite. Since Artaria freezes over when the reactor in Cataris is shut down- and presumably, the reactor in Cataris didn't come with the planet- I always assumed that being frozen over was actually Artaria's natural state and the Chozo melted it down, not the other way around.
I also wanted to mention that we have actually seen Purple X before: specifically the Varia and Wave Core-X's in Fusion. The Wave Core-X in particular is a very vibrant violet, similar to Raven Beak's X. I always sort of assumed that Raven Beak's X was a Core-X, just without the shell (perhaps to aid in absorbing more creatures?)
When it comes to an X Parasite exhibiting traits of multiple hosts, that isn't unique to the purple X. The final battle with the SA-X in Metroid Fusion shows the SA-X mutating into a mixture of Samus and the hornoad that was the SA-X's original host when Samus first encountered it.
Environmental story-telling is one of the things the Metroid games do really well, and one of the things I like most about them.

The beginning skit brought back memories of early internet fake Super Metroid rumors, specifically laying a bomb exactly over the eyes of each boss statue to unlock access to am area called Warfair with all of the items in the game and maybe more

It's not a true science, but the Metroid do evolve based on their environment. I'm not saying they won't have fangs, their metamorphosis from gamma to omega is based on fighting other creatures for resources. They probably adopt that form to be the dominant life force on whatever planet they inhabit
The recent alien films actually illustrate this theory to a degree. Sometimes they can be snakes, sometimes they can be hominids. And freaking David was experimenting with all of this

I've been under the impression that the Z-57 X parasite survived its encounter with Samus (although its protective shell was consumed by the lava), from which point it went on to absorb Kraid's remains before finding its way to Samus and Raven Beak.
It wouldn't be the first purple Core-X either, as Metroid Fusion featured the purple and green Barrier Core-X and the purple B.O.X./Wave Core-X. (The Core-X were color coded according to the abilities they carried.)

My thought was that the purple X was just the core one from the Experiment. It fell in the lava, sure, but I'm pretty sure the X are able to survive in lava just fine in Fusion, and wherever lava is in Dread. Kraid also descended into the lava, so his remains could've been absorbed somewhere, leading to the amalgamation of DNA. And it's in it's base freefloating form instead of surrounded by its core because... well, it'd look weirder if it weren't. Maybe it shed it's shell intentionally to infect Raven Beak- if Samus can't absorb a Core X without breaking its shell, then maybe it can't infect someone without shedding it either, and it takes a bit to regrow?
X parasites being able to replicate and combine multiple hosts is nothing special, it was shown in metroid fusion multiple times with enemies fusing together, like that weird fish pirate, I think it also happens a couple of times with dread's enemies.
I think the reason Raven Beak's X parasite is purple is to draw a distinction between it an everybody else, you know... making the final boss a little bit more special. And so that you can recognize it if you decide to go back to kraid's lair and see it fly off. If it wasn't a unique color, the already hard to spot and interpret easter egg would be even harder to understand. Although that is not a story reason. But honestly I also don't think there are story reasons for x parasites that recharge missiles to be a different color... it is mostly just gameplay convenience.
I do think aeon abilities not being present when using the metroid suit is due to the suit unconsciously absorbing any energy it has available, which is why Adam stopped Samus from touching the ship. Although I wish this wasn't the case lol, loosing flash shift suddenly always disorients me. And makes the frantic escape feel much slower than when you play the game normally
I feel like this series is going to go the direction of captain America’s super soldier serum. Ravenbeak stated that Samus is now the perfect weapon, so maybe the next game will involve samus running from the galactic federation as they try to use her unique genetic condition as a weapon of mass destruction?

The greatest mystery for me is why the metroids were programmed to be enemies of the mawkin. The mawkin were allies of the troha and promptly answered their call for help when the metroids got out of control. Only after trapping them that raven beak betrayed the troha. So the troha had no reason to programm the metroids that way when they had the chance, by the time they had a reason to do it, they no longer had a way as the metroids were already sealed

Edit: I disagree that the EMMI had chozo abilities installed before launch. The exposition text says the abilities they have are a result of adapting to the environment they ended up in. I think her Metroid DNA waking up is why she can take the abilities for herself.

I only found one secret from Metroid Dread and that was Kraid. Was he a clone (lame) or the real deal (how). I believe Dread’s story, gallery, and the previous main canon games respond everything else.

Here's one plot thread I never understood about Dread and is one of the reasons why I don't think the X Outbreak was a good addition to the story:
By the time Raven Beak and the Mawkin arrived on SR388 for the first time, the Metroids have more or less taken over the planet, with the mutations ruling over the lower caverns; how in the hell did an X manage to infect a Mawkin soldier when at that point they were driven to the brink of extinction, much less infect a soldier that went unnoticed until back on ZDR?
Also, raven beak took a long time to deal with it, metroid, metroid prime trilogy, metroid 2, super metroid and metroid fusion happened during that time. We saw that a few hours after being free the x dominated the entire planet and replaced all life, so it is impossible that they actually escaped the ship, otherwise we would have found natural life in the beginning of the game. But it is also weird to believe raven beak took all that time and lost all members of his race to a threat that never mamaged out of the ship
I knew he was just joking in theorizing about scanning the amiibo in a specific order, but I was still a lil bummed he never came up with a prospective order.
About the EMMI having Samus's Power ups. We know that Chozo power ups are software that the suit turns into Hardware through Energy to Matter conversion. We also know that the Galactic Federation have at least a basic understanding of the Chozo software, enough so that Samus can download Upgrade Data. However they have not yet mastered the energy to matter conversion. So they had to split each power up between each EMMI so that they had enough space for the specific hardware of that power up. Otherwise, if one EMMI had the software for all power ups, but also have space for the Hardware, it would have to be fucking massive. This also explains why Samus can simply gain the abilities from the EMMI. she's gained foreign technology before, and technically this is all Chozo software except for the Spider magnet thing. So she should have no trouble absorbing the software for her own suit's use. A reminder that Chozo Technology is fucking ridiculous.
I don't know why you thought Aeon was available only on SR-388, to me it is like the basic life force, a force that has always been part of the universe and absorbed by metroids.
Like the Force in Star Wars, it's a mystical part of every life form but not anyone can control it, Samus training and suit allow her and Raven Beak, and probably any other Chozo, to use it in specific ways to perform supernatural tasks.
It's more of a retcon, I think we shouldn't see Aeon has not existing in Super Metroid, just not expressed through gameplay.

I see it more like a planetary energy field, unique to SR388, similar to how the Light energy the Luminoth harnessed is unique to Aether or Phazon is unique to Phaaze

I mean as far as the purple X Parasite, people have speculated that it absorbed either the body of the Kraid we fight or a piece of it. It's notable because the spike that Kraid fired at Samus in the cutscene is missing before we see the abomination at the end of the game. It specifically disappears after when the X as a whole are released from their captivity (I found out via the Looygi Bros channel).
For the E.M.M.I.s to be using abilities like what Samus uses, there has always been an underlying hint or suspicion that the Federation in some way are trying to copy Samus' abilities to fulfill their own needs. I don't remember where I heard it from before but there IS a theory that The Space Pirates and the Federation are possibly working together under the table. Basically hinting at some level of corruption in the Federation. Ice Missiles being one of the key factors and some of the weapons that were being developed that Samus wasn't intended to be given while aboard the B.S.L. station in Fusion. Plus technically she stole and destroyed Federation property (the ship and station respectively), which could easily have led to an idea of the Federation putting out a galaxy wide warrant for Samus' arrest.
Or was it they had Samus' abilities that Raven Beak drained from Samus at the start of the game? I mostly ask due to their internal codes having the initials of what powerup they have that Samus gets.

I think its something he mentioned in older videos. Something to do with Samus Returns adding some new lore after the fact. The one Chozo Memory that shows the Metroids mutating also shows Aeion present in the hatchery. Another shows that Aeion is like an energy source on other creatures on SR-388, so it could also be with the X-Parasites, causing the ones on BSL to evolve.
Like he said then, doesn't flow perfectly with Other M. Again Its more of Samus Returns retroactively adding some lore.
I'm not sure what you mean since Other M has no Metroids evolve. The Metroids supposedly invulnerable to freezing would be a product of DNA manipulation by the scientists there, and that may have even been a lie by Adam. As for the Queen, that may be a natural stage of the Metroids and not a mutation since it was part of the Baby Metroids DNA, not to mention perhaps it was cloned in its mutated form, which is possible I think. So there really isn't any Metroids in Other M that conflict with the theory? Unless I'm forgetting something.

I like to think Z-57 is apart of Raven Beak-X as we know the X can survive lava in Fusion, and also Kraid was submerged in lava but still became an X.
Kraid's belly-spike was embedded in a wall before the X were released, and disappeared after, strongly implying that said spike is where the X got Kraid DNA.

I've always wondered what energy Aeon really is. If we think of how it was introduced, the remake of M2 makes it canon pre-Super but Its left so vague.
Hot take but what if Aeon is that secret energy Metroids thrive on, that energy that empowers Samus' suit with Mawkin abilities, the same energy that Space pirates couldn't trace. The energy Metroids suck from living hosts and possibly something that the X are made of since they were their natural predators. Hence why Metroids and X parasites are so synonymous now with you.

The EMMI are able to procedurally modify themselves, as stated by Raven Beak, which may imply that they gained their abilities from exploring their surroundings. This would also explain why the official art of the EMMI has them with no faceplates. This is a trait they all developed (overdeveloped in EMMI-02SM's case) later.
The names, then, could have been designations assigned to them by Raven Beak and Quiet Robe, with the EMMI only having numbers be default (this then leads into the hilarious idea that Raven Beak named EMMI-01 "Pathetic").

The purple X also absorbed Kraid's belly spike. In the endgame when Raven Beak was taken over by the X, the face that splits open was actually Kraid's.

The purple X was actual using Kraid as the main body mostly. The Aeon work differently cause Samus return she does not have the metroid DNA, so her suit needs extrnal power source to generate her abilities, while Dread her metroid cells can generate its own Aeon, but after its reserve is depleted it start using her stamina to keep the abilites going. Raven beak most likely has a large reserve of Aeon, more likely having a advance suit compare to Samus, speically sense her orginal suit was destoryed in fusion. The EMMI I believe were programmed by Raven beak to have the abilities and using their technology, this is why Samus can absorbed the power ups from them, also the control node for the EMMI was a part of the MB project that the chozo built, so she might be getting the power ups through that. The hyperbeam was originally something her orginal suit could use, but when she lost her suit an was remade into the fusion suit it lost the power, Raven beak power suit was ment to be more advanced verison of Samus orignal suit and could use it, when she struck him in her metroid suit form the chozo tech in Raven beak armor was copy, simular to the EMMI power ups, to unlock the hyperbeam for her to use. That is my theory.
I kid you not, I was sure that the empy space in the top right corner of the map was to make space for a future area DLC with maybe a Ridley boss battle in it.
I'm still bummed that that space was left empty, I still feel like it was done on purpose...
That said, I know other people have already said this, but the Xs should be able to survive lava (I'm pretty sure we saw Xs in lava in Fusion) and they could all mix and match different hosts ever since Fusion (a great example are the fish Zebesians). Also, we've seen in past games that the GF has access to some kind of Chozo tech that is compatible with Samus's suit, like the Fusion upgrades, so I'm pretty sure that's how Samus got the Emmi's powers, she took the data the GF gave to them.
I thought it was obvious that Raven Beak stole her abilities at the start and distributed them amongst the EMMI, making them tougher challnges leading to her unlocking the Metroid abilities faster.

I know I’m a bit late but something that seemed to slip by me is do we know the origins of the fusion suit? I know what happened in fusion but my question is more so what IS the fusion suit. We know it’s organic but where did it come from? I don’t think it’s galactic federation technology. My theory is maybe that when samus attempts to summon the power suit at the start of fusion due to the og power suit being removed and the Metroid dna now inside her….maybe her trying summon her suit ends in the result of the fusion suit? That’s my guess but I was wondering if I missed something

one thing about series i over analyze in the architecture for the federation , like samus being in a cave, chozo structure or pirate base , the layout makes sense , Bird magic and aliens but for the humans / federation, it makes no sense and buy this i am talking about the BSL research station in Fusion and Other M , its death trap for and average person with no power ups, like how are you supposed to get any work done when you have to shine spark chain to get to your terminal ?, and all this after you've blown portions of the station and cause structural damage to get form one side to the other ?, can you image your first day at that lab?,
