In an alternate universe : The Mother Brain is the wife of the Father Brain. After a bad marriage and divorce which left her a emotional wreck, she fell into the wrong crowd and became a criminal. She later rose to the top, became the space pirate leader and decided to use the Metroids to attack the Federation in an attempt to get revenge on her ex-husband who is now the Leader of the Federation. Ironically, she stopped by her own daughter, Samus Aran the bounty hunter, who, as a baby, was sent to an orphanage as a result of the divorce and was adopted by the a wise elderly couple named Chozo who needed a child to inherit their fortune as they were infertile.

I see a semblance of duality with Samus and Mother Brain Who would win A supercomputer with with knowledge of the galaxy, an army of super/bio weapons, and space pirates at its disposal... Or A shooty bounty hunter with PTSD and a Jellyfish
Who would win? A fragile brain in a jar Or A bounty hunter with highly advanced technology and a metroid, one of the most powerful life forms in the universe?
_Pffft!_ "Parents" as in *gene donors* at most. One could make an argument about Mother Brain helping train Samus, but Raven Beak contributed with nothing but his DNA. That's it. If anyone deserves to be considered Samus' second parents, it would be those two. ^_^

@@JaelinBezel He's talking about the ending of the Doom franchise, which is the "The Ancient Gods" DLC story for Doom: Eternal. Story goes bonkers in that.
Remember when Mother Brain looked like an elephant (two eyes, tusks, and a tube that looked like a trunk)? I kind of want to see that form make a return. It's not as iconic as the Super Metroid design, but it would be cool as like a secret boss or NPC that could be an in-universe prototype for her.
Looking back at this, the "creature" in DOOM 2016 is Vega. Vega is a friendly AI that run the operations in the mars facility and is currently seen acting as on-board AI assistant for the doom marine in DOOM eternal. It's cool because Vega is genuinely a nice guy and in spite of his core room looking creepy the Doom guy surprisingly hesitates in deleting him and opts to make a backup before initiating a meltdown in the game. (Setting up the why on how vega is still around in the second game,)
This ain't a Nintendo game and I think it's only a mere coincidence. But in the game Bloodborne, in the area called "Nightmare of Mensis", there is a large brain thing covered in eyeballs and some arms that the player can drop down into the dark abyss and kill. It's called "Brain of Mensis", but it is also referred to as "Mother Brain".
I think the Brain of Mensis is more of a mix of Lovecraft and DnD, rather then a reference to Mother Brain herself. The brain motiff is the only thing that is similar, but the rest is pretty different. The Brain of Mensis is literally TRAPPED, *chained up* to its tower and when you release them, he falls down and becomes 100% harmless. The thing feels more like an enforced prisoner, compared to the mastermind in control that Mother Brain always is. Its dangerous gaze is only part of its nature as a Great One or a Kin, which ties it more to the Lovecraftian aspect of Bloodborne.
3:20 A little plot hole that I didn’t notice until now: Mother Brain designed and made the Power Suit (and prolly by extension all of its powers). So why are the Space Pirates still stumped by the Morphball technology? It’s in the official lore from the games that the Space Pirates have tried to replicate this technology, but to disastrous results…which doesn’t make much sense with Mother Brain, (creator of the Power Suit) on their side.
I have an off the wall idea for you. What if the Space Pirates were all engineered by Mother Brain, and Ridley was her co-conspirator? You stated in the other video about the Chozo Memoires that the "armada" that turned on the Chozo Scientists was led by a mysterious Warrior Chozo. What if he turned out to be Ridley, and he was "altered" into the Space Pterodactyl Dragon we all fear. (Chozo are birds / birds on earth are evolved dinosaurs) Motherbrain altered Ripley's DNA so that he would be a stronger, more adaptable, and more powerful fighting force. Motherbrain's own words state the Space Pirates are, "hierarchical programming is decided at the genetic level". So what if Motherbrain started it all, behind the back of her Chozo creators.
Despite dread proving this comment wrong, I will say it's a good thought! Mother brain using DNA altering and manipulation to create the pirates however she wanted kinda makes sense, given what the chozo were capable of.

Hot take: Mother Brain is secretly fulfilling her directive to ensure galactic peace by organizing and leading its greatest threat (the Space Pirates) and ensuring that they are always in a position to be defeated by Samus, whom Mother Brain personally trained and armed. The powerups scattered around that the pirates never use but allow Samus to win? Placed by Mother Brain for Samus to find. I'm sure there are many flaws with this theory and I want to hear them.

If you ask me, it's Mother Brain. I know what you're thinking: "That's not possible! Mother Brain is dead during the Metroid Prime series!" Well, hear me out: When you consider the fact Mother Brain trained Samus before Metroid 1 and designed her suit and all of it's upgrades and weapons, Mother Brain may have been aware her encounter with Samus might end in her defeat. As such, she would have been able to create a backup of herself just in case. Seeing how the Space Pirates had multiple ships orbiting Zebes during the first game, it's probably on one or all of their computers she transferred her backup to. Sure enough, following her defeat and the destruction of Tourain, Mother Brain entered data compression mode on one or all of the Space Pirate frigates around Zebes. Though still technically "alive", Mother Brain was only capable of giving orders to the Space Pirates who either fled from Zebes' orbit, or stayed behind in hiding to rebuild their forces there. Also well aware of how the Galactic Federation might intercept or/and wiretap Space Pirate communication, Mother Brain also ordered the Pirates to refer to her as "High Command" just to be extra safe.
