- Home video footage recorded at Perth's long-defunct family theme park, "Atlantis".
I shot this video back in late April, 1987, when my elderly Aunt Ethel visited from England.
Some scenes from this video have been used over the years, in a couple of Perth's local news and current affairs programs.
There seems to be very little footage of this particular park, that has found it's way into the public arena, so I hope what is shown here is enjoyed by both former guests to the park, as well as any former employees who may come across it on UA-cam.
Thank you for showing the only Lepoard seal in Captivity during the 1980's.
Awesome my dad took me up there when I was young but it's hard to remember this brings it back memories 👍👍
This is just amazing! Footage from 1987 so clear, only went there once, so overgrown you wouldn't even know that it ever existed on that land.
I loved this place.
Used to be a diver there great memories
that poor seal. so sad

Hi Paul Gleave, We would love to use some of your video content for a
history video that we are creating for Atlantis Beach, Two Rocks. We would give
you full credit in the film. Is that okay? Regards, Atlantis Beach
Hi Paul, This footage is amazing! Would you be happy for us to use your footage in a short student documentary? We would credit at the end.
No problem. It’s even turned up on tv a couple of times.
@paulgleave9855 Thanks so much Paul! Would it be possible for me to send through a release form? UA-cam doesn't let you comment emails but my email is in my UA-cam bio!
Hello Paul, I would love to get in touch about having your footage as part of the WA New Museum your device. If you have any footage you would be able to share do let me
Know and I can get in touch with more information via email.
Not a problem Donna. If you can post an email address I would be happy to get in touch. I have old video footage from a number of old attractions that may be of use to you.
@@paulgleave9855 hello sorry I thought I responded but must not have properly. donna.sadler@museum.wa.gov.au
Hi Paul, great footage! Very nostalgic...would you mind if I used this footage for a music video? Provided a credit for you at the end also. Thanks, Mei.
No worries. Please let me know when you post the MV. I’d love to see it.
I can't believe this is the only footage that seems to exist of this park. I lived down south at Margaret River during the 80s and never got to see Atlantis Marine Park. I have bought a property in Two Rocks and have become fascinated with the history of the place. At the very beginning of your footage your aunt asked if you had to pay to go in and you said no. I always assumed you had to, otherwise how did the Park make money? Otherwise great footage. Well done preserving your recording.
Thanks for the nice comment s. I always tried to shoot things as meticulously as I could, using the basic camcorder I had at my disposal. And I always took care to look after the recordings. I think you DID have to pay an entry fee, but ours was inclusive of the bus tour ticket. I was living in Port Hedland at that point, but came down to Perth to meet my elderly aunt, who was visiting from England, and I wanted to show her the sights, limited as they were back in 1987. I’m sure there must be plenty of other amateur video footage of the park, lurking in peoples wardrobes and storage containers, that may some day see the light of day.
@@paulgleave9855 I would have thought you had to pay. It would seem strange if you didn't. Thanks for replying. I know it was a long time ago but would you have any idea what the entrance fee was. I appreciate the time and effort.👍
@@shanegale4401 I can’t remember what the cost was. I only went one other time. It probably would’ve been around 5bucks.
