2000 seems like yesterday to me but watching this makes it seem like a lifetime ago. No more outdoor market, barely any shops worth spending money at in the indoor market. Lots of those shops have disappeared now. The pub on the fish brew has gone. My friends parents had that pub in the 80s. I'm sure it was called something like Hole In The Wall. That doesn't sound quite right though. Can anyone remind me what it was called please 😊

You gotta ask, how much distance from realty were any kids who didn't get the whole thing about real life and what they saw on TV, instead of parents or teachers or so called psychoanalysisits would have you believe, not all kids are going to try and climb a wall like Spidey or fly like Superman just cos they have a costume with a cape, and I don't buy the bit about a child in Oz thinking that Turtles from New York are going to be under his street outside his house, that's as unlikely as seeing some youngster who watched E.T. or A.L.F sitting outside in their garden hoping for a Alien to visit. What they going to claim next, a pet shop had to stop selling rabbits because little children thought it was going to talk like Bugs Bunny. Imaginative and creative people should not be held up making fictional stories because some individuals don't work out how to explain to the target audience the nature of the narrative while also pointing out what is real or obviously made up and why it shouldn't be copied due to the dangers involved and just tried to ban it, so it's no longer a problem, just cos they don't want to attempt to explain to a lot of pre teen viewers, so they can play safe, and not be treated as sensation grabbing sponges without any common sense.

I’ve been wondering what the hell Broswers indoor market was called for flipping years!!! 😂 I remembered the indoor market well but could only remember that it became Hartes in later years. Browsers was the sister indoor market to Pricebusters and I remember it being advertised in there. Great memories 😊

County Books kickstarted my kid's education. The Market is history nowadays, more or less. I'm still drawn back to Stockport, but I rarely bother tbh because of the parking charges. So many better places these days with free parking. Most of the decent shops have gone. Past times happened so quickly while we was sleeping!

God, Crisis! I mean Watchmen, even if way overrated, wasn't actually _bad,_ but Crisis was just The Worst! "Third World War" had plenty to say about the evils of the military~industrial complex - fair enough - but precious little to say about the 'shortcomings' of Socialism. Worse, it treated its readers like idiots. Conversely "The New Statesmen" was all but incomprehensible, and would have been hard work for a political science graduate. In addition, it bore enough similarities to Watchmen to cause one to detect the distinct smell of rat..!
