- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1994 Chrysler Concorde. Took a while to get her running but I love making these videos, they're exciting haha. Adding to the variety of Saabkyle04! I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

These cars (the LH) were some of the best driving vehicles at that time. They had front wheel drive with a north/south engine orientation. I never felt any torque steer in these vehicles. They had both great handling as well as ride.
I had a 95 Intrepid ES 3.3 and it ran flawlessly. Bought it used with 70K miles from original owner who maintained it very well. I drove that thing for 6 trouble free years coast to coast.
I'm not saying this to all Concordes, but that startup sure shows a lot about this car
This vehicle was probably never taken care of the right way.
+David Villarreal Agreed. It sounded like it had quite a few problems. TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!!
+Cade Wiggins SUPER TRUE!
Chryslers have always been great to our family, so this one probably has not been taken care of.
+therarehuskyGT S50 (thehuskygamer07 V4) Thank you!
Man, to think this is now a 20 year old car. The overall body styling and interior still looks pretty modern to me.
I can't find anything that looks modern😂
Looks like a Buick Century to me
25 years now. Mine still works pretty well actually.
that Concorde are good
Angel the Reshiram
That’s no Buick Century. They are completely different.
Fun fact: The Chrysler Concorde was also the basis for the original Eagle Vision.
Eagle Motors I actually saw one of those the other day! There nice cars,
And the Dodge Intrepid and Chrysler LHS
My neighbor used to have one
I had an Eagle Vision!
And the Renault 25/Eagle Premier/Dodge Monaco were the basis of all the Chrysler LH and LX cars.
Brings me back in time. I worked at a Chrysler dealer in the 90's. My favorite of the early LH cars was the Eagle Vision. Assuming everything else is in order with the engine, your startup problem is most likely due to a dirty or faulty IAC (idle air control) motor. I've seen this more times than I can remember...often just a good cleaning with carb cleaner will do the trick (do the throttle body while you're at it). Either that, or you had a dead battery for a long time and the PCM lost its idle settings - if this happens, feather the throttle to keep the engine RPM just barely above stalling. Eventually the computer will figure it out and it will idle again.
I had a 96 Eagle Vision! Was a great reliable car. But the steering rack bushings needed some attention from time to time.
This car needs a tuneup. My '96 has lots more miles than this and starts right up every time. But I've always maintained it very well since I bought it new.
Is yours a Concorde
@@dallasbarber1439 yes
@@Dodger2204 cool
I love the styling of this car. For a '94, I think it looks great, inside and out.
Chrysler call this shape forward cabin.. You can see it in LHS, intrepid and concorde.. The concorde was my favorite
Its a 90s Chrysler for sure hahaha. People make fun of these types of cars but they don't understand that in the 90s these were attractive cars. Clearly the engine needs a little bit of TLC because whoever owned it obviously didn't care about their engine.
IKR? People are so stupid. 90's cars and even 80's cars are so much better than cars from the 2000's to present. I love 90's cars and I despise ANYONE who hates them. It's mostly young people such as millennials who hate on cars of the 80's and 90's. I'm a millennial myself but I'm not your average millennial. I HATE my generation they're a bunch of idiots . I think of myself as a Gen X'er born in the wrong year(I was born in 1991). I know I'm not the only one though.
@@Tbolt1000TForLife This isn't really based on hate, but more based on actual fact. A lot of cars from the mid 70's until about 2006 or 2007 weren't that great when it came to initial quality. They usually did always start up and went, as long as you kept up with basic maintenance.
Cars have actually gotten better now though, particularly Korean and most Japanese brands. American and German brands have fallen in recent years though, with the exception of Buick, Lincoln, and Audi. Tesla hasn't been mass producing cars that long, so they can't really count.
@@Tbolt1000TForLife It's honestly just a bad period for transmissions, a lot of bulletproof engines were released in the 90s.
I had this model lxi
nice car
front end was poor rebuilt it twice in 4 years and replaced the transmission
The next generation Concorde was far superior build quality and reliability
@@Tbolt1000TForLifeI really love the Chrysler vehicles from 1994 to 1999 because they weren't shy about experimenting with curvaceous exterior styling. My personal favorite is the 1999 Chrysler LHS whereas my mother enjoys the Chrysler 300M due to the car's signature "bat wing" headlights as I like to call them.
The Chrysler 3.3 and GM 3.8 were the best engines I've had in a car, I liked them more than any Toyota 4cyl, V6, or V8 I've had
wow
Bring back the bench seat and a decent back seat.
Parker Weatly if I was in charge of a car company, I'd purposely build a car with a bench seat and a column shifter, cause I'm sure people would be into buying them
@@nickrenda9985 For safety reasons you couldn't, but man that bench seat was practical another passenger, another spot for your backpack and even a good bed for that occasional vacation trip.
@@sofiagamez7007
Eh that’s a rumor. Pickup trucks would not offer it then. It’s because of demad and it faded out of existence unfortunately.

I have a 1993 Concorde with the 3.5L and man, is it easy to work on. Had it since early 2000s when it was my sister's first car. She wrecked it and I fixed it up, now has 127K and runs like a champ.
I have a 94 with a engine problem where the fuel injector does fire and gas is being dumped into the engine. Can’t find anyone to work on it being that they don’t have a diagnostic tool
i miss these reviews
Me too...
Bruno M even when he films and old car now it is it’s not the same as it was then it doesn’t have a Same feel in a sense pretty much every single upload was of older cars
And some of his videos are so old that the vehicles filmed were brand new at the time some of his 2011 Videos were actually of cars that were really brand new at the time so he did do brand new car reviews in the past
It’s just that now half of the bullshit he uploads are cars and trucks that us middle and lower class people can never afford
Yeah he’s such a sell out he’s practically reading from a script and advertising the car and the dealer rather than walking around it and showing us the car from his prospective.
thanks for posting another awesome video on my birthday kyle! LOL
the transmission on the 1993-1997 Chrysler Concorde
Transmission
4-speed 42LE automatic
I was thinking oh no what will this like of junk be like, but came away impressed once he gave the tour of the interior. Very tasteful and inviting interior that still looks contemporary, without being over done like many American cars of this time. Lived how nicely the doors shut too. Props to Chrysler.
Please do more cars from the 90's! They fascinate me for some reason.
beginning of start and stop system :D
Great vid as always Kyle!
A nice ride, pretty car if you ask me! She just needs some TLC. To be honest, I actually like the 1993 LH cars better than the 1998 ones, specifically the Concorde and Intrepid.
This generation is my favorite!
+1
Gotta love the full bench seat in front!
I once woned a '96 Eagle Vision (sold under the brand Chrysler here in Europe), and I found it one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever owned, with the 3.5 24v V6. Very comfortable, and good roadholding qualities. Bit expensive in maintenance though.
Me too, had a 96 Eagle Vision here in Germany. Was my 2nd car and I got it new and drove it past 120k miles without problems.
my brother had one of these cars. he hated it. thank goodness my dad got him a 98 park avenue b4 he drove his concord off a cliff
Another great review
nice review kyle, regardless if the car is made from 100% plastic lol i'm glad that Chrysler has come a long way back to something good :)
Sounds like it has a good sound system. This one has the basic sound system. The one my mom had had the infinity sound system and it was the best stereo system I had ever heard in any car to this day.
I pulled the engine management fuse on my Mom's 93 Concorde after it was having this same problem starting. Straightened it right out.
I love the reviews of these cars: sedans from 80's and 90's.
Kyle, you have to found more cars like this
by the way, this is the same platform than the Eagle Vision?
Sick of all the anti-Chrysler comments. The 3.3 is actually generally a very reliable engine. The car is over 17 years old; who knows how it was maintained and frankly no matter what brand a 17 year old car will have some issues.
First car I've ever owned, pretty decent car I'd say
My 96 Concorde had the best A/C of any car I’ve ever driven. Looked just like this one inside and had a maroon exterior!
I like how in old cars they put the gear shifter behind the steering wheel. It just looks right
Yeah the Column shifter has great feel and allows for the front split bench seating! I haven’t used one for years, miss it. It was on a first gen Ford Escape my parents used to own.
Were these Concords rear wheel drive, or was it just a longitudinal mounted engine?
Interesting to observ: On the other video a 137K miles Lexus started right up. This one is 121K.
Thanks for sharing, Kyle!
I really like '90's cars. I grew up with them, I've learned to drive on them and I currently own one as my daily driver. It's a '97 Opel Omega B (Cadillac Catera for the US).
One of the biggest Cadillac flops in history!! haha
@FanDeAlguersuari yeah it is the same platform as Chrysler LHS, New Yorker, Dodge Intrepid, and Eagle Vision.
When these cab forwards came out, it was a big thing
They were quite revolutionary in terms of design and drivetrain.
kyle was the head gasket gone in this???? its like there water on plugs and shit that wont let it idle????
For it's age this vehicle is pretty well equipped and looks to be in good/great condition exterior and interior wise. I like how theres lights everywhere for both the front and rear seats. Those cup holders have to be a joke though... a trademark kyle quote couldn't be used in this video either haha- "fires RIGHT UP!"
Hello! What about Dodge Intrepid II 3.5 ?
@shocktrooper1000 coolant? haha I'm pretty sure that's water (condensation) like when you start up any car that has been sitting for a long time
hey i have a question have you ever seen a 1993 eagle vision before? just curious
My dad used to have a light blue '96 when I was young. Pure nostalgia.
Kyle I beg you to do a reviem of that white ram truck is BEAUTIFULL!
Beautiful Muscular exhaust sound
Sounds weak and sickly if you ask me, like a stoner coughing, trying to unclog something in his lungs.
More than 20 years... still looks like modern. Too bad you don't see these cars these days.
Closest thing would be a Buick Century. Hope those do not disappear like Concorde.
@MrStelmer He did turn the lights off. Some cars have lights that stay on for a few seconds. My car does that too.
No joke, i think so too. Nice exhaust note, much better like on the Minivans or Dynasty / NYer etc cause of lenghtwise mounted engine
Also, they sure keep up with those older vehicles. They still have the Lil Red Express and the Windstar from last year.
I know the 2.7L is a rod thrower, but with the 3.3L are these decent cars? I'd love to get an old Chrysler super cheap on craigslist and use it for a beater.
The 3.3 is super solid. Same engine they used in the minivans. Most old school, but most reliable
I’m buying one from the auction for $300. It has only 30k miles on it. Are these reliable cars ? Should I go there expecting it to not start? I’m hoping it’s gonna fire right up
Nice. My brother used to drive a 1996 chrysler Concorde & the transmission went on it
Wow the shifter doesn't have much throw compared to other cars. Interesting to also note that Chrysler didn't put a stripe of rubber or felt to cover up the gap between the column and the lower trim of the instrument cluster panel. Nice sounding engine. Very American and throaty. Very clean looking car as well for its age!
Yeah like a Ford Escape or Chevy Caviler with that golf shoe scrubber material instead of a rubber boot. Does not really matter, back when cars were simpler, cheaper due to it and I miss this!
These Mopar cab-forward cars like the intrepid LHS etc were pretty advanced for their day and very popular. They can be bought for a steal nowadays.
What a piece...
LOL!
I had a 96 Concorde with the 3.5 engine.
it was a good car for it's day
I had a key fob like that on my 96 jeep grand Cherokee it's a classic lol and that radio too
haha I love how he has positive things to say about every car no matter how big of a pos it is
first time ever seeing kyle reviewing a junkk car.
@rompn4x
Every Concord/Intrepid had engines made by Chrysler. In this generation a 3.3 and a 3.5 if I´m not mistaken. The Mitsubishi engine was the 3.0 and you can find it in earlier Chrysler Minivans
what a piece
kyle you should do a video of the updated concorde.
Thats Chrysler for you.
2:22 That poor starter
2:25 Ollie's Pack Bunsen is a Beast Danny Phantom Dorg Van Dango
The 90’s and before had the best cars.
Great video! Car is definitely a fixer upper, but not too shabby. In my opinion, as long as people properly maintain Chrysler vehicles and take good care of them, they would last a lot longer. However, that's subjective and there are those that do, and the car fails. Who knows. You should film a 2nd gen ;)
I have a 95 Intrepid. same engine and it had a hard time starting like this one does. my problem was the MAP sensor
I've always loved the first Gen LH cars. Chrysler in many ways at its modern peak and in its last renaissance. I wish Eaton didn't sell out.
I like the interior.
@ThePKProject yeah I got a 2nd gen and I drive it everyday without problems. This car looks like it was probably neglected mechanically. My car has almost the exact same miles as this one. I did however had to get a new oil pan, new radiator, new tie rods, and my door locks are busted they make a squealing noise when I unlock & lock the doors lol.... but that all was in a 2 year time span that I had the car.
Why is this engine siting vertically. Mine sat horizontal, did they mad rwd versions or something.
Michael Mcmillon
It is FWD. The powertrain was based off of the Eagle Premier which has a transmission design that enabled the engine to be facing "longitudinal". If you look up a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, you'll see the engine is also longitudinal, but is in fact FWD. Oldsmobile designed a funky transmission to make that possible. These "LH Cars" were also designed with the intention to later build these cars to be made RWD or AWD...never happened. But if you look underneath one of these cars, one can clearly see there's a cutout opening running down the center of the underbody structure where the exhaust runs along. That opening was evidently suited for a driveshaft.
Does this have the Mitsubishi engine in it or the Chrysler built one?
@Lukeschedel oh, did I mention I have one of these Transmissions in my 1998 Plymouth Breeze with 212,617 miles on it, and its the Transmission installed BY CHRYSLER when the car WAS BUILT in December of 1997! it has lasted 14 YEARS, and all that has been done to it is Regular Filter and Fluid Changes with LICENSED Chrysler ATF+4! I can PROVE these Transmissions can last YEARS with the Proper Care and Maintenence!
Have you done a lexus ct200h?
@Z0hann I had a 98 Chrysler Intrepid with the 2.7, according the the mechanic I took it too loads of them were going bad. Mine in particular started burning oil and then eventually the motor just blew(like my old one!)
My dad and my grandparents had the Dodge Intrepid version of this car.
@BragTerminator yes indeed
Can you make a video on either the green or blue mustang in the background at 0:20
The Cadillac Eldorado's were doing that since 1967. Same with Oldsmobile Toronado and the Buick Riviera. Before that, an American auto maker named Cord in the mid to late 1930's was the first to do that.
Please do a review on that black 02-05 model Honda Civic Si in the background at about 3:45 :)
thumbs up for starting it up more than once lol
that car probably had a blown head gasket...
The white smoke and low compression explains it!
I kno that you're busy and stuff...but i was jus wondering if u can do another dealership start up video
do u no how to program a keyless remote for a 1994 concord
I have a 97 and what I did was I bought a remote then took it to the Chrysler dealer they will install it for a low fee.
@TheGizmo4382 Yeah, when we had our "Blizzard" here in GA I drove a RWD F-150, let's just say that driving to work was interesting......
Concordes are nice but my most favorite LH car is Dodge Intrepid u should try to do an depth on a 93-97 generation Intrepid ES edition.
iam thinking of buying one of these...its a pretty blue & it starts great!! asking $900.00 so not bad..but hood needs work..i wish this one would stay running..
I had a '99. It was actually a good car. What's with the Concordes not having outer antennae? My radio never got reception because the antennae were in the rear window I guess. Even the clear channel couldn't make it through. Other than that, I loved the car.
I remember going on holiday to Canada in '97 (from the UK). We had two rental cars while we were there - a Chrysler LHS for a week as we drove through the Rockies, and a Dodge Intrepid for another few days for Montreal-Quebec. The LHS was fantastic - incredibly roomy and luxurious. The Intrepid was awful - cheap and nasty with an underpowered engine. We owned a '96/97 Saab 900 at the time which put the Intrepid to shame.
It actually sounds pretty good for a DSM V6
There is actually a difference for the emblem on the grill. For the 1993 and '94 models, the emblem on the grill is the Pentastar logo and for the 1995-97 models, the emblem on the grill is the regular round Chrysler logo. That's one way to know what year model these things are.
MAGNUM05 also the 96 and 97 models don’t have the grey cladding at the bottom
My guess would be a clogged fuel filter causing sporadic fuel delivery.
It is funny, because after Kyle announced the millage, I said to myself - Ah, that is nothing for a good ole American machine...
Then it refused to idle, haha!
A good service and I reckon she'd be fine.
@90Mrknowitall Wow, glad to here your ok, lol. I like these cars, somewhat. The camry still hold a massiv edge, even the 95-2000 Lumina and 92-95 Taurus does. lol
@flyinglemonade i think it's called "Big Shot Teacher by Jon Stewart".:)
My first car was a 93'Model traded it for a 2001 Sable lastyear
@randomrazr Happy Birthday!
@saabkyle04 hey kyle, I dont want to come off as pushy, believe me, I know you have much more important things to do as I to intend to go to medical school in about 2 years and I know the work involved is extremely difficult, keep up the good work and i'm lookin forward to that grand cherokee :)
@ThePKProject kyle style i like that lol
@Darkherooftheday thank you!!!
