I bought the same kit and went mod crazy which is a lot of fun to do. I also scratch-build an engine as well from a 1/12 scale version. Time for you to get savvy and do the same!
I intend on doing the same thing with my M3A1 Scout Car once I'm finished restoring it. I want to have a GI Joe Scout Car detailed like the big brother.
Ype van der Molen no it does not, very disappointing. This company made an engine years ago for a prebuilt model that included figures and you could purchase the kit as an exclusive thing but those are long gone.
The shape of the grill does not look right to me. I am presently building 1/35th scale Jeeps from Takom and Meng, the details in both kits look far superior to the 1/6th Dragon. Too bad Dragon did not spend a little more time on design and execution. As you say, lots of opportunities for scratch building and detailing.

I’m collaborating with a friend on a 3D resin engine
