Great video but I do have 1 tiny nit pick. The chin strap on the back of his helmet should be a khaki color not leather. Besides that this is a great figure
Also the piece you couldn’t figure out where to put goes on the guys backpack. It’s the handle of a shovel that’s sandwiched into the two bags on his back
I hear ya. I'm far from being an expert at it myself, but I hope that with the technique I showed, it will help inspire you to be more successful. Also, go over to Sprues and Brews and his videos on painting figures and faces. I've added 1 additional step. Rather than add a second layer of Light Rust Wash, I add a light layer of Tamiya Brown Panel Liner. This will give the impression of a tanned skin color while at the same time bring out details, shadowing, as well as tone down the Light Flesh base.
looks like the mistery part is the handle of a shovle that goes on the backpack in the little indent in the middle
If that's true, then I'm missing the shovel blade. Plus, I don't see the indent on any of the backpacks that this would fit. But thanks!

You don’t prime?
I try to prime all my parts with either grey or white primer. If I don't have any on hand, then I lightly mist with the base coat.
Where did you get these figures? The one supplied with the kit is like a mannequin
