As you know I don't have Eachine but great info for Eachine owners... The GPS and compass info is very important across all drones.

Thanks for the great tips! When my EX4 starts toilet bowling, I put it in Altitude mode and instantly gain control over it.

Certainly looks worth trying. I had a JJRC X12 fly away on me. (As far as I know, it's on a mountain ledge, waiting for a good climber to come across it). Being a glutton for punishment, I ordered an EX4, which just arrived today. I'll let you know how your tips work. Thanks for posting this.

I just got one today and noticed the toilet bowling right away. Thanks for the tips. Any ideas on how to get the gimbal to point slightly upward? I bought this to be able to take sunset pictures, but the stupid thing is 2/3 ground when it's level. I wish I could index it up another 5-10 degrees. Thanks.

Thank you for a great video. I will try your trick with gimbal. Sometimes it is on and sometimes it is off (60%). Also I have problem with video range. They promised 3km, but for me it is 200-300 meters and screen gets frozen. I even tried to fly over ocean - same disappointing result. Do you have any suggestion how improve video range? Thanks.
I will try it on my JJRC X12. My problem with gimble is sometimes doesn’t even go through a check out when turning on. No movement. Camera works but like yours , jello and cocked to the side a bit. I’m excited to try it.
Good luck! I have that same issue... sometimes it boots up and checks the gimbal... sometimes it does not.

Appreciate the tip. It’s working every time. All I do is turn on drone. Wait about 5 seconds and push gimbal beyond 90 degrees and hold it to force it to start up.

Thanks for the tips! Have you ever had a problem pairing your drone with the remote control? I have got this problem with my Eachine EX4 Pro after the first two flights. When I open the application after connecting my phone to RC by WiFi, the GUI shows 'Disconnected', in Version Info the Drone Firmware Version and Image Firmware Version are not shown.
I have not had that issue... sorry. There seem to be a lot of different things that can pop up with these.

If you can help me I have the EX4 and after I repair gimbal does'nt work .I think it because I changed some ribbon cable at the gimbal or maybe one ribbon cable is broken
Thank you for the insights. I've had these problems on occasion but never could get support. Now my EX4 is 9 months old and the batteries are ballooning such that the plastic bottom has popped loose and interferes when trying to mate to the drone or charger. I probably have 14 hours total flight time (7hrs on each battery) and they've never been abused.
Again, no support or response from eachine for my battery failures.
I experimented with some 18650 Li-ion type cells in place of the Lipo pack but the drone will not remain in stable flight using the 18650 cells, the directional control acts slow to stick input. I suspect that the 18650 have a a higher cell resistance and the motor control response lags too much for the firmware control loop.
I won't invest any more to play with this drone, luckily my Fimi X8 2020 keeps me very entertained.
I had the same problem with my battery, I glued the bottom bck on with industrial strength super glue, so far so good.
@@MrChrishamlet I've read more about the characteristics and failures of LiPo batteries. The EX4 uses a special pack that allows a higher charge voltage (4.35V) but those types are more prone to deteriorate when stored at full charge. Also, when they expand this indicates that there is also a delamination between the cell plates (internal) that will reduce the charge capacity

Hello Mr Restless Thank you for your video. I also have a stabilization issue with the gimbal of the ex4 drone. During the flight, the camera loses the horizontal and suddenly points downwards, the image shakes in all directions. Is the solution you are offering us temporary or permanent? Is this a firmware issue or a gimbal fault? I had decided to buy a new gimbal but I have to figure out the problem first. thank you very much
My solution is just a "fix" that can help to get it working, but does not solve the underlying problem. I have not had the issue mid flight like you have, but many people are telling me the same thing as you.

I need more info for flying in GPS mode. Every time I try that function the message is not to tell the drone this, because It is in rc mode. So when do you know you are in the gps mode.
Just saw this… apologies. I think you need it outdoors and with an open sky when you boot it up.

I am not getting an image from the camera. It’s connected and I can move the camera with the controller but I can’t see anything.
I went for a flight it flew away but I pressed return to home and it came back I had all those problems to day it happened on my second battery and on the remote it says magnetic enter feerens
Hi was wondering if you could give some advice. After a week of not using my ex4 I turned it on and a solid red light appeared, the last time I used it was fine .but now not responding, the batteries are a bit swollen but fully charged ,they worked fine last time but now nothing sometimes the camera connects to the app but I cant control the cameras movement! , do you have any ideas why this is happening? Any advice would be very much appreciated
My batteries swole up as well rendering this drone useless. Did you happen to get any advice on the swollen batteries or did you get a new drone and if so what did you get?

Hi sorry for the late reply, I'm not 100% convinced that the swollen battery is the problem! As it was working perfectly before with a swollen battery, I'm having a hard time finding anyone that does drone repairs .I'm thinking about replacing it with a hubsan zino 2+ 4k 60fps a bit pricey but has lots of extras .hope that helps you out :)

Yes, I have had the exact same problem. Now I just do the gyro calibration and skip the spinning part.

Calibration has always worked for me for some reason. I did the gps shielding mod yesterday and I can confirm gps is aquired 2x faster now

@@mackensis I just opened up the top of the drone to reveal the gps, it's under a foil shield. I removed the module and put some more foil under the drone.
Hello i'm indonesian people, my eachine ex4 cannot turn on but motherboard feels hot, do you have a solution? Thks
My gimbal actually works ok 50% of the time. When booting up I always have control over the gimbal and it is working. The issue I have is that the gimbal steadily starts to wander away from center and then sits skewed. In flight sometimes I do loose gimbal control and the way I get it back is to rotate the drone in one direction continuously or just wait for the gimbal to regain operation by itself. But after that the gimbal alsways stays skewed in flight.....frustrating....
Other issue I have is the batteries swelling....
I do think one of my batteries is starting to give me issues... just noticed that. I have not had the skewing in flight like that, but am sure it is frustrating.

Really frustrating sometimes cuz then you can't get the shots you would like. To get horizontal I have to align the drone to the skewed gimbal, not the other way around 🤦♂️
Are you still able to use your swelling batteries and is there a fix for the swelling batteries?
@@garyjohnson9196 I can still use the batteries. They still hold a charge and I just cram em in. I did read that li-ion batteries are best kept at half charged, or not fully charged (like at 70% or so) so that's what I'm doing now. Gives you less flight time amd it's a shame really. I contacted JJRC support (they have the same battery since it's basicly the same drone with a different name JJRC X12 Aurora) and they just said I have a damaged battery. They never replied afterwards. I bought a new JJRC battery on Ebay and keep it 70% charged just to see if it will swell too.
@@doglaboi2010 Great, do you have a special battery charger that ensures you don't go beyond 70% with the new battery, or do you just leave it charging with the old charger for less than the 5 hours it required?

on the other hand the company which created the drone and very bad, I contacted it several times by email, and they never communicate, they are very bad, they make fun of the customers
For those of you who are thinking of buying another EX4 or JJRC X12 I think it's better you just buy a used or crashed Mavic Mini. I just bought one for $102 with a broken left arm only and should be working fine after I replace the arm. With a used remote and battery you might spend up to $175 but then you'll have drone that has a way better camera as the EX4 and no toilet bowling. I will not buy another EX4 or X12 cuz support is basically nonexistant.
