Great video. Thanks for this one. Did you get an on the water review video of this up? I was looking for it and can't find it in your videos. It'd be great to get your take on the difference the hydrofoil makes in boat handling. I just bought the same foil to put on an omc cobra 5.0 l and hope it will get my boat on plane quicker.
J, there's no doubt it will help! I'll do a in the water review here in the next month or so. Depending on what you trying to do with your boat the next mod that you need to consider is upgrading to a 4 blade prop.
Good job. I found that It helped in all ways but one. Reverse. It SUCKS in reverse. I took my foil off as I boat in the ocean and it was dangerous in a following sea. the 4 blade is great, though. Just not in reverse.
Michael Romer should be great in a lake. Gets on plane faster. Less bow steer when idling, better high speed cornering, slightly better cruising economy. Those are my experience from going to 4 blade. The foil along with the 4 blade makes it stay on plane at lower speeds and is great getting out of the hole and pulling.
@@JVRottweil Hi , thanks for the info. Did you change the pitch when you install your 4 blade props ? You say a little crusing economy does it lower the rpm a little ? I want to lower mine and i wonder if i need to increase pitch or only got a 4 blade will do it .
@@lamacuirieux I went from 17 to a 15. Turns out I could have stayed with the 17 as my RPM increased quite a bit. In most cases you should drop a pitch when going to a 4 blade. What are your current max RPMs
Excellent detailed video! What kind of prop do you have?
