    For many many years graphs have confused me,and I just give up tinkering with the units and fish ! I have watched so many of your videos and I understand what I have been missing. The thing is, no one teaches you in depth like you do. They tell you just enough to razzle and dazzle you to buy the expensive equipment. I have never mastered or come close to being an offshore fisherman,and that's where they stack up. I always go back to plucking the banks because that's where I'm comfortable. I believe you might just get me offshore. Thanks for you awesome work and videos !

    I'm a little late, but I love this. Everybody else is telling their viewers what baits to use deep and how to retrieve them, which is great, but doesn't do a lot for those of us that still have questions about how to find fish deep and stay on top of them. You're the man. My lake is highly pressured and small, which means the shallow fish get hit constantly. I'm moving deep next year and taking these tips with me.

    I'm in the infancy of learning to bass fish so my favorite tips to try this season were in this video and to use a jig and let it reach the right depth (the last two videos).

    You're helping me get through winter and tax season hours... THANK YOU!!!!!

    Get a heading sensor (AS-GPS-HS) and put your chart on heading up, this will make your life 10x easier since the map and your boat direction will always be true to exactly how you're pointing. I have the same graph set up as you, onix 10 at console and 998c at the bow. This works great for me. I usually drop a waypoint or two on the structure to give it a "outline" and then drop a waypoint where I want the boat to be.

    This was a great video. I have always tried to throw the marker buoy behind the boat as soon as a saw a brush pile on the right hand of my scene. It was a hit or miss scenario . The way you showed and explained this is a great way to place a marker buoy. I would go back in the other direction and repeat the process. That way the target is between the buoys . 😊

    Lowrance units can use the Point 1 GPS receiver/compass to keep the boat orientation constant, eliminating the need for the boat to be moving for the heading arrow to point at the waypoint. Humminbird may have something similar. The key is the compass. Front graph orientation is set to "heading up".
    Great video!

    • @FishtheMoment
      @FishtheMoment  5 років тому

      Thanks Steve! On Humminbirds, it's called course up. They reason I don't use that setting is because, while the boat's orientation stays constant and the arrow never spins, the entire map will spin instead. On the newer graphs, this may not be an issue, but on my older 998ci, I find it really hard to keep the map from spinning all over the place. I'm sure either way works, its probably just personal preference.

    • @nicyjones
      @nicyjones 5 років тому

      +Fish the Moment actually the point one on lowrance is a heading and gps sensor that provides magnetic heading for the boat, and keeps the boat pointed in the true direction. It can be used with north up or heading up. And they make a similar device for humminbird, the AS-GPS (or something like that) I think you would love it for this type of fishing. No need to get a running start, just point your boat in the direction on the map and you're good.
      Excellent video by the way. I just subscribed!

I am thinking about buying a second Hummingbird Helix 7 for the bow of the boat. I was told SI would not work in the front due to the boat needed to be moving 3 to 5 miles per hour. My request is could you do a video and explain how you have your tranducers installed on your boat. Especially the bow mounted unit. I notice something installed on the top of your trolling motor in this video. Keep up the great videos and I am telling everybody I talk to about fishing about them. Thanks,
