I love watching the new vans, but it’s sooooo great seeing the older vans too 😍 I have a 2012 Elddis 646 with the fibreglass front. I am super excited for a video what shows bringing that up nicely 😍👏🥳 and a little video showing things to do to bring them up to date generally would be just amazing as there really isn’t much out there unless they are entire caravan overhauls. So nice to have so much choice of videos to watch here. Talking about the market, different vans, new and shiny vans, under £15k vans, caravan moderations, recommending accessories, caravan TLC and maintenance 🙂 keep it up! This is a great channel.
A caravan is definitely the better choice!!! It’s cheaper, more spacious and makes more sense!!! You’ll NEVER have the same comforts in a motorhome! The only thing that speaks in favour of those vehicles in Germany is the speed limit for caravans. I cannot see any other advantage…
Great video Mark , 12k to 15k is going to be my limit in a few months time , could you recommend a caravan in that price range that has a fixed bed please , Thanks
Nice to see the Swift Challenger 540! We bought the 2008 version back in October last year and paid just under £10K. It has been very well looked after. I am a first time caravanner and I am really enjoying going away in our little home on wheels! :) Great video!
Thanks for showing us some under £15k vans, and explaining what you mean by Spares or Repairs. I know sometimes you mention the caravan weights; this is great info for me. Our 2009 Renault Scenic seems a bigger car but the maximum weight it can tow is just 1150kg.
I think the old style wood effect fridge doors age much better than the modern shiny black ones which appear to come marked as standard from the factory!!
I managed to get a 2015 bailey series 3 unicorn valencia for 14.5k at the start of the year I thought I did pritty good at the time but seems like I have done better than I thought. that was in a private sale obviously so I know it's different to what dealers are offering with warranty etc.
We have a Bailey Pegasus 4 berth caravan and was wondering if you can get a roof cover for it, or would any other cover do?. I am new to the videos and I’ve learned so much from them because we’re fairly new to caravanning. We’re thinking about buying a newer caravan next year so any advice would be appreciated. Keep up the good work ❤ Pat
Hi Mark great info as always. I wanted to ask you your options on caravan wheel balancing and if it's needed. I think it would make a interesting video.
It doesn't really make any difference, but for what extra it costs if it gives you peace of mind that its done then its worth it. If that makes sense 👍
It shouldn't make a difference due to the maximum speed limit of a caravan but saying that I got mine done when new tyres were fitted, totally different towing afterwards but whether that was tyres or balancing is debatable probably the tyres though
Hi Mark. Could you help me please we have a Lunar lexon cs 2004 and we need to find in the rear regulation lights outside they keep going out as the blubs inside keep moving. I have tried looking for the black plastic circle parts that the blubs go into but can't seem to find any. Can you tell me what they are called and where I could buy them from please. I'd be most grateful Thank you Dave & Janet
Hi, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265637740184?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=xWZcNNaKTj2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=gsaSJsTxTaa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Is it this rear cluster?
No nothing like it at all. I don't need all of the unit just need the inside black blub holders as they keep moving the AA just put some pieces of thick twigs to keep them in place but we need to get this sorted out properly. It's just the actual black plastic round blub holders that fit through the metal fitting bar. I'm not sure now else to describe it to you sorry Mark. Regards Dave
We have a video of something different to try on Sunday, if you try it you will have to use on a small test area first as its a product we haven't tested out fully yet but had great results so far.
@@thecaravanplace thanks Mark there’s so many to choose from on the market I’ve been told try this try that but I’d prefer advice from a expert cheers mate
Tried for ages to get a calor gas bottle our local recycling centre had loads people handed in but refused to give them out (ridiculous) calor are blaming a shortage of bottles due to supply issues got a new bottle off 1 of their competitors with no excuses at all anybody else had probs with calor
When I got my used caravan I got it for £9 thousand but now as inflation if I sell it in px I’m only gonna get £10 thousand and that’s just from the same dealer like 🤦♂️😕
The older caravan is very well made. Thank you for showing the better value range. Xx
Even second and third, fourth hand are just as ridiculous these days! 😉

The specialised roof cover is fantastic, found a full cover left faint swirls on the sides.
Thanks Robert 👍

I'm Rod and thank you for your your tipps saved me money 💰
I have a soft spot for the Swift Challenger, as our last van, was the 1996 480 SE.
Did us proud for. a few years.
Very nice Mark. Glad Avondales are still there on the forecourt.

These have been helpful I'm looking for a caravan to live on a building site for a year 😊
Keep an eye on our website 👍

Yes they always show any little marks on the black ones.

How much damp do you find in pre 2013 caravans? What are typical readings on the damp meter?
Still should all be under 17%, if all OK, if anything higher, it would indicate a possible leak. 👍

Have a look at specialised covers. They have a list on the Web page. Thanks 👍

Very useful video for those of us on a budget and new to the idea of caravanning... have subscribed for future reference as we start looking.
Thanks Steve 👍

Hi Mark, just wondering if your term for Part Exchange is the same as a Trade in. I’m from New Zealand and really enjoy your videos.
Yes part ex is what we would offer to buy also at the moment. Thanks Brett 👍
Do most older vans have creaky floors?
Not always but you tend to find the fixings aren't as good anymore and also a bit of bounce in the floor causes it.
Hi Mark I’ve got a similar Elddis to what you have it’s a 16/4 libert’e 2008 what’s the best exterior wash to use tia
