Hi Mark I bought a tin to try on the front of my 8yr old caravan. You are right it's very good. I've now done all my pvc double glazing comes up lovely. Plus it goes a long way not cheap at £29 but worth it.
I just bought some of that two weeks ago for my house composite door which is dark green and seemed to be losing its shine. Your video is correct it's very easy to apply and just needs a light buff to shine. Not used on the caravan as it's cleaner than the day I bought it 🤓. Great video Mark 👍
Mark after watching this video I went ahead and purchased some of that gel coat reviver to use on our caravan. A 1996 Avondale Mayfly Classic '25'. I am absolutely astonished at what a difference this product has made to the exterior finish off the caravan front and rear panels and the side skirts and wheel arches. She is like a different caravan. Lovely shiny top coat. Tomorrow I will be doing the roof panel. Thanks for yet another great tip and video
Been interested in these kind of products for a while as I polish a lot of gel coats. I always have seen them as a kind of clear coat cover, not a fix. I'll give it a go a see what happens. Two little tips for you, don't use your brush on the windows, it amplifiers swirling and scratches, and use two buckets. One for soap, one to rinse. You'll reduce damage to the surface to help finishes remain less marred or swirled.
Cheers 👍, yea I think it does act as more of a clear coat, but it lasted a good amount of time, still can't beat cutting back and polish but maybe, use as an extra protection after cutting and polished.
Hiya... that seems to work really well Mark.... good idea.....we just use a wash and wax and it shines all the time.....whatever works eh?.....best wishes 'The Camp Caravanners' x
That`s a nice little starter van for £7495. Did you know ``elldis`` is actually ``siddle`` back to front [SIDDLE C COOK, heavy haulage ] north east england who started the company.
Great job-Looking good!- After Caravan Magic Wash Wizard, we would recommend one coat of Caravan Magic Waterless Wondershine to really bring it to life, especially on an older surface. It also removes any grime you might miss on washing down on the first pass- For touch ups after removing black streaks, or tar spots, you can also use the Spot Wax finisher for keeping that overall shine intact!
@@Davidg-wu5ur H, ive used it tonight, i it does work, from a dull finish to a soft shine, with no effort , that was on front grp panel, its took years off my old caravan
What's the real difference between using a decent car cleaning product vs a specific caravan cleaning product? Those brush type washers can also be quite harsh, I'd use a microfibre mitt.
It depends if its just a wash down then a car wash and wax will do but car cleaning products are more designed for laquered paint work where the caravan is lots of plastics and a un lacquered paint finish.
Use muc off, wash, Bobby dazzler, rinse and dry. Use autoglm or mcguires car polish once a year. Inc roof. Use a sponge on polyplastic windows not wash brush. Also Maguires wash and polish in one is good. Once a year clean is good inc fenwicks over winter liquid is good.
Hi Mark is that the caravan me and my wife as just brought I've got to say that you and your staff are very helpful see you soon when we come to collect it many thanks
Great video! Any suggestions on how to get rid of brown stains on side of caravan after using awning pads. Tried to polish out but nothing has worked 😢
hi Mark, i bought a tin yesterday also to use discoloured surfaces. Already passed 10 months over this video publised, i will be appreciated if you may advise how many months it last?
Hi mark. Its probably disappointed on the front because the manufacturers web description says not to use it on white surfaces. Something to do with pigments. Doesn’t state it will do any harm, so i assume it just wont work as well or at all on white. Strange as we all know the majority of boats are white!!
Would be better to use a tcut and cut it back then polish with normal polish. The Tcut will cut the stains away and then the polish will bring the shine back.
Stuff like this is perfect for dealerships and independent sales as it makes it look like it was all correctly polished and if you take care of it then the shine will last .. However we know that this is just a dressing like black trimm dressing .. It makes it look fantastic but once it washes off the buyer realizes their paint and gell coats are actually in very poor shape .. Car dealers have special dressings for paint and glass and wheels so in under an hour they can make a neglected car look like new . But again it sucks to be the customer after a few rainy days when the coating comes off and they realize that the car wasn't actually restored but only given a temporary nice look . I will always stay a fan of truly correcting the surfaces so that what you see is what you got .. If taken care of it will last and it's not just a temporary fix ... I've seen many a disappointed customer after they own their trailer or vehicle for a few weeks and realize that all of the surfaces are in terrible shape once that coating wears off... The coding makes it look as if the trailer or car was taken care of extremely well and as if it could be continued to be cared for and look good but it just washes off and the customer has been a little dupped into thinking the surface on their property was very nicely cared for and will last with weekly washings .
Hi Ash, the instructions say to apply then polish off after 10 mins. You should be able to go over any areas again, just make sure you read the instructions first on how to best apply.
Hi. Just looking for this product, but found this in the instructions. Restrictions: DO NOT use Gelcoat Restorer on white surfaces, it will not work as it is designed to restore pigments.
Yes they say Don't use on white as it doesn't bring the white up as no pigment in colour. Which on the front gelcoat you could see it didn't make it really shine. But on the paint work on aluminum, it takes out all the oxidized areas and really brings the white paint up well.
This is correct, and the white has no colour pigment so it won't make it pop like it does on a colour. But it still works on white, most boats are white, which is what this product was designed for. Thanks For your comments Chris.
It should be, but if you do try it, use in a small area first and test. But it says it pretty much works on any surface. But always best to just test first in a small area.
Hi Mark, on the older van you usually get a black dull stain under the window. I'm sure you have seen what I mean. Dose this work on that or do you have any tips?
@@thecaravanplace the trouble is, caravan paint is very thin, much thinner than on a car and t - cut will eventually rub the paint away. Around a bath on the sealant, black mould can be removed by keeping bleach impregnated toilet paper in contact for a few hours, may work on a caravan ?
This a scrub up, or if you like painting over the cracks. Top tip don't wash your caravan if it's sunny like this !? I suppose time is money so a quick scrub up is good enough for an old van like this..He probably only paid 3k for it..?
This is very much a suck and see. It works to restore the gelcoat, but how it works and lasts on the side we need to see. So far so good but we will possibly do a test in a week or so to see how it stands the test of time. If you can find some for 3k send them my way!
Well your never going to release that kind of detail, I'm surprised you rised to such a comment.. speaks volumes, there are better products than T Cut..to use on Help coat....that give lasting results. however you couldn't afford the time to apply as eats in to bottom line..
Its because white doesn't have a colour pigment, so it won't make it come to life like a black or a blue etc. Its for boats with gelcoat finishes. They are 90% white lol. It still works really well just doesn't give the white gelcoat a dazzling shine which is what I found in the video. Thanks
Its not that it can't be used on white surfaces, its that you don't get the same results on the white grp as you do with darker colours. Its made for boats which are 90% white lol. It works wonders on white paintwork though as it goes into the white paint easier than the white grp and really makes it come back to life. It will then give it a coating that will protect the paintwork, how long it lasts I don't know yet. We will do a update over the coming weeks.

Yes t cut will be fine, it won't cut through the paint too far. Not sure if this will last as long as t cut and polish so will be interesting to see

G3 or Tcut then polish.
You should always use protective gloves because these polishes contain agents that penetrate the skin and are drying and can be hazardous to health.
Great video, do you need to protect the decals?
I didn't, but do a small test area, in theory it should just protect them, but with any new product its always best to do a small test area first.
Any tips on how to safely get to the top panel above the front windows? As someone who suffers from vertigo is a bit of a pain to clean!
A very hard part to reach. They do the platforms that have a ladder either side and a board between. These sometimes are ok over the A frame
The best thing for cleaning a caravan is elbow grease..trust me works absolute wonders on mine .
