- My dad came out for a visit and test rode my 1955/2003 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic. Royal Enfields were originally made in England, then in India when a factory was opened there in 1954. Since then, the India factory has continued building the 1955 Royal Enfields.

oh man this going to be my second bike....love the sound
I'm thinking on buy an used bullet 500
I could feel the beat while am holding the phone and watching this video... RE rocks ... one heck of a machine
Royal Enfield Bullet is one of the Number one bikes in India, they are amazing; all the youngsters have them
Youngsters ?
What a bike RE 500 cc, beat sounds, dyanamic riding experience......
Love to ride this bike,
Thank you for posting this video, please post some stunning informative post in future also.......
I've got a bar end mirror on my '01 Bullet as well. I got a set of tan leather RE saddlebags for it recently, but I'm not mounting them 'til after the snow melts lest some critter in my garage eats them. Say hi to your dad for me. Us old farts rule!
that bike must have serious torque. sounds powerful and awesome. thanks for posting!
I'll pull in the driveway when I'm good and ready. Your Dad is a true rebel.
Thanks!
The seat is the Premium Solo Seat (Tan) from the EnfieldMotorcycles store (although they don't list the premium on the new store yet), the "Deluxe" is listed and looks the same - I don't know how they differ.
The exhaust is the "Classic Exhaust System" also available at the EnfieldMotorcycles store.
u're dad looks so proud!
I bought a 2006 model 500 Classic new. Immediately I had to return it with only 54kms on the clock because the barrel had been machine incorrectly in the Indian factory it sprayed oil everywhere & was replaced. So was the fuel tank because it had a hand print under the gloss finish. 5 other factory faults showed up over time until the piece de resistance, A thick thrust washer left in the timing case caused the oil pump to fail and the bigend to blow. $1000 worth of parts later & still off rd
That is one sweet bike Chris. You have me thinking about changing my mind on the ride I want to get now...hmmm

i love riding, i did end up getting me a triumph. i got a triumph trident t150v, its a 750 triple and i love riding it. im not opposed to a second bike at some point though and would still look at a vintage enfield as an option!
@dirtyjew1974
On interstates, I don't go above 65mph.
Enfields are built for the mountains though. It's the bike of choice in the Himalayas. Search UA-cam for "Royal Enfield Himalayas"
WOW. so beautiful.
Brilliant lovely bike 🤣👍
Thanks Chase! They're cheap brand new at $4700. I got mine used for $3000.
I have 500 cc
Cool "cuffs" and boots!
u looks gr8 on the motorcycle .royal enfield is best .
@dirtyjew1974
Yes there are Enfields available more than 500 cc(650cc~700cc), but those are custom made. You will have to get 500 CC(Old model with Iron cast engine) and get it to Kolkata(INDIA) market. There are people who do this job.
I did trip of around 3500Kms and did not have one single oil leak, puncher, Chain loose. So yes these are reliable, I feel it depends on rider.
Now manufacturing process has been changed so new engines you will get are more reliable and powerful.
single seat is not a big deal. you could add second seat if you want to. even a flathead harley is also a single seater.
Beautiful...that Bullet had 18 litre petrol tank?
What year is it? How much upgrades?
2003, Shorter shocks, bigger tires, 350 front fender
Nice Bike
@dirtyjew1974
I am 90 Kg.
I did trip from Delhi ~ Ladakh ~ Delhi(18000 + Feet high)
No roads, water crossing, river crossing(2 feet deep)..
Snow sheets..
I got 350, It did great...
500 will do the job for you I am sure..
Raw Indian Muscle 💪💪💪😍😎
that seat is an optional standard fitment... you can buy them at the store.
grandpa I like ur crazy ride
i was in india 2009 if you had a bullet you were the king
that is a stunnin bike mate, if i was goin tourin you cud keep ur gs,s n harleys id take the enfield very economical and unspoilt, beutifull :) ive sent a vid responce of my bike here in the uk not an enfield but im as proud of it as you are urs ,,, keep bikin mate :)
India has added a whole range of new models .Its not the 55 model that is being built now
Right on, Dad.
Do all US model Bullets have the gear change on the wrong side?
Yes.
@dirtyjew1974 the top speed on these bikes is 85mph, although they do run out of steam after 70mph. There are two specs, the english version is the better quality and the indian version is not quite at the same build quality.
Too cool!!!!
@S00rabh im a bit over 90kg so were close to the same size i think, good thing it does well with you so im sure a 500cc bike would do well for me. do any enfields come any bigger than 500cc's or do you know? i also heard that enfields arent as reliable since their built in india now but i wouldnt know, i do know that their english design though but im told that substandard methods are used to build them now so another question is reliability...thanks!
did you have to put that saddle on the bike? where did you get it from and is it easy to install...?
dude thats big bike you'll be fine
love these bikes! are they ridable in mountains or interstates? im a bit over 200lbs so i was wondering how one of these 500cc bikes would handle with me in mountains or interstate or on interstates over 60mph. just looking for feedback and opinions lol. i just love these enfields!
p.s just got to add this :) you look like something right out of the wild one with marlon brando great image mate :)
What is the model
tabitha jaladi that’s a 2001 bullet 500

Hi where did you get the tank grill ?
Nice ride, i miss my RE. I used it for 1 year and had to sell it as I moved to US. I think looking at your video, I will try to get a new one here :). Cheers nice video. BTW Do we have RE company dealerships in US.I was able to locate some sellers but not company dealerships.
very nice bike how about some more videos.
nice looking , which year model?
What bar-end mirrors do you have on?
Search "British Style Bar End Mirrors"
@@ChrisFBartlett dope, they look really cool
@dirtyjew1974 , they are used in the India military and they sound more sharper than this
That doesn't have the original thump sound of a Royal Enfield bullet, Come to India if you want to see the real Royal Enfield
A motorcycle tuned to sound like a damn generator is not thump. Your new " enfields" still no match for original redditch ones.
AJ Othwal Yeah, thats why nobody purchased them at that time. Fact is they were doing SHITTEE. When the Brits made them. Move to India.. boom sales and popularity go up. Your factories and production lines are shit and thats why you don't make in UK or America. All your stuff comes from China. Stop bullshitting.
hahahaha stop please your comments make me laugh
why don't ya compare the quality of materials used in Enfields then and now?
listen..... I don't have a problem with Enfields or Indians in general... it's just that why almost everyone there so obsessed with the fake thump? I mean I have 3 motorcycles... 2 of them are Enfields.. anyways... On my visit to India I saw almost everyone who owned an Enfield use a very cheap muffler with loud blaring mettalic twang note.... and called that awful sound a thump... that's what pisses me off...plus the backfire thing they do... it's annoying.
Looks longer than the new model..Doesn't it?
And low seat.
What model is that ?
nice to see good ole enfield.
youve got the idle set way too high. just robs the bike of its gentle roadster feel. shes an old lady, she does the waltz not the salsa.
cheers to you guys though. keep riding.
I swear he said "People might think I'm Will Gear"
Is this the classic model? Love the black tank and tan seat!
how put gear left side?
hey I am 6³ do I get fit easyly on it?
Yes you'll fit. My dad is 6'. I'm 5'10"
this is original royal enfield made in england.
@bikedemon99 its bettar in person n i have one enfeild buts its 350
These bikes need lots of work. Clutch overheats in traffic, fit and finish is poor. They have about 20 bhp.If you have the time and money to fix these short comings they can be fun to ride.
The moral is, BUYER BEWARE quality control in the Indian factory is haphazard. The 8 factory faults on my machine is NOT unique many other machines have had their own set of faults built in to them. When this happens they are not cheap especially as now they cost $1000 more than the pre-UCE model. They DO have charisma & are fun to ride though & are easy to work on if you buy a good set of tools with an abundance of patience.
Sadly he passed away :(
He's still very much alive.
tenho uma shadow 600 cc e ja botei 150 km
Ouch. The comment I made about being a "rebel" wasn't meant to offend you or your Dad. Sorry you misinterpretted it.
these bikes aren't really at all like the 1955 ones
to find out the age of an engine you just need a x-ray counter ... since the indians also slaughters russian submarines ... :-)
thats an indian bike
