Your system is somewhat like mine. I have a 24 volts 2000 watts Aims Power inverter charger. With twenty marine batteries on it, lol. At the end of the month I'm getting a Hurricane Vortec wind generator. It is a 1kw unit, max 1.5. I have twelve 100 watts solar panels on the system now. I would have ordered the wind generator already, but I have to save up for a Midnite classic. I can't put any more panels on the 40 amp Epever controller that I have now. After The get the wind generator, I'll be adding six more batteries. These tend to run at a lower voltage than lithium, but the wind generator will be helping out a lot of the time to keep it at a higher level. By July I will have 1300 amp hours at twenty four volts. When completed the battery bank will weigh over a ton. I know it will be a great addition to have wind power. It will keep the voltage up on cloudy or rainy days. My solar system works great except this time of year. But it's windy here. There were forty MPH gusts yesterday. You have discovered that more batteries makes it all work smoothly. I'm going to need a large number of them because a wind generator is going to dump a lot, then quit. You have the right idea. Keep stacking those batteries. There's no such thing as too many. From what mine did, having more batteries makes it work better. I just figured since I'll be spending all this money, I want as much to go into the battery bank as possible. Instead of a dump load. But I've decided to quit at 26 batteries. The floor won't hold any more. I was going to get a 3000 watts inverter charger from Aims Power, but they were sold out. So I got the 2000. It weighs 46 pounds. I had to rebuild the internals last year after trying to run a welder. When I bought it two years ago, I got it for $653. Now the same thing costs $985. So I'm going to finish my system before it all gets too expensive. I'm not spending any that I don't have to this month and see if I can get it going. I'm going to be broke in March. But I think I can barely afford it, lol. So I'm going for it. It's raining here and out of 1200 watts of panels, I'm getting 21.7 watts. I bought a Winco Lil Dog generator in November. I have to flip the #1 dip switch to get the charger to work right, then flip it the other way to get the inverter to work right. So having the wind generator pushing the voltage up, I could maybe leave it in one spot. The voltage won't drop below 24.0. At the one setting it wants to turn the inverter off if there's no shore or generator power and it drops below 24.0v. But the other position it lets the battery bank drain down to 21.0 volts before it wants the charger to have power. But it's not that easy to drain twenty marine batteries to that voltage. But on these low light days, it trips the low voltage alarm on the other position. So hopefully the windmill will help. I'm hoping this will all work like I think it should. Looks like you have a great system. I started with twelve volts but I changed it to 24 early on.

That's quite the expansion, well done! I see now that the investment level needs to be on the batteries and alternate charging methods for when the sun doesn't shine much. I may do a wind generator at some point too. Keep me posted on your system, thanks for sharing!

I ordered a B&C 600 watts wind turbine from Green Energy. It comes with the controller and a big green resistor. It was $474 with shipping, 24 volts. The other place is having supply chain issues. I saved a thousand bucks over the other one. So I can get batteries quicker. I have six quarts of acid coming. Last summer I lost some acid before I had all the batteries. I just filled them with water, but the voltage was never the same. So I have a hydrometer now. Mostly the first eight batteries that I bought are out of whack. They got too low last summer during the solar flare. Since I'm getting a smaller wind generator, I can just brace it to the barn. It will be 25 feet from the battery bank. I only have 600 watts of panels out because of tornadoes last night. I brought half of the panels into the barn. Getting 393 watts to the battery bank. I'm relocating a couple of them to the West side of the barn. Where they were is going to be in the shade of the windmill.

Thanks for sharing your system and setup, found this purely on accident and clicked on because of your name. We live electricity off grid in central New Mexico and also run 2 systems, 1 is a Renogy 400w setup and the other is a 500w system with leftover panels from a new solar farm installation a couple of hours north of us. They are independent and serve specific purpose in our mobile home , looking forward to upcoming videos and going to check out the rest of your channel

While I am neither a former marine nor a gunnery sergeant, I use the term as 'firearms enthusiast'. I did wear green for a time though, and did have fun with it. Thank you, I do have more upgrades coming to the solar setup, so keep an eye on future videos! You must have much higher exposure than we do up this way

Greetings, early on in the video I was eyeing the panel stand. Looks to be about two feet off the ground. Why some people might ask is that important? - Snow! Nice controller, I have the 40 amp version.

I’d be a little concerned with it being so close to the Woodstove tho. Will you be moving everything to its own storage type building when you upgrade ?
    Enjoy ! 🙏🌲🦉

It's a tiny cabin, 16'x12', so my space is very limited. In my next cabin I'll give myself a lot more room to work with . Haven't had any issues with heat so far, it doesn't take much to keep the cabin warm, even in -35C

Not sure what you have there is that like a one hundred amp hour battery you made??? Would like to see some of the “boring” details of your system and how you wired it. I’m still learning what I can . Have fun stay safe.

Great video! Nice job! 1 recommendation get rid of the circuit breaker lol just use the ANL fuses. My 200amp breaker to my renogy 2000 watt inv would internally disconnect then reconnect. Also my 30 amp breaker for my solar controller to battery would build resistance making the solar controller think the battery was charged at only 20 amps. Scrap them and keep going with the ANL fuses. My 40 amp has put up with 42 amps momentarily a few times. Grab some spares and enjoy!

Good job, nice vid & setup. Nice cells u have there, do u have an active balancer on that BMS? The passive balancers are generally not enough for those cells. JK have a really nice Bluetooth BMS with active balancers and a great app as well, if ur ever considering/needing another that works really well with that chemistry. Cheers

I appreciate the efforts you put into your content. I think your system is made of too many opponents you are constantly upgrading apparently. Instead of all this stuff, why don't you consider an inverter with its own MPPT charge controller, simplifying your gear? Just a suggestion.

Lifep04 batteries are actually extremely safe. If punctured they won’t catch fire or explode. Only concern is high current in event of short circuit.
