While on an extensive vacation, my sister and brother-in-law went to Egypt and stumbled onto the where they were filming a movie called “The Curse of King Tut’s Tomb”. They talked to a minor actor there who told them three interesting things. First, don’t waste your time watching this movie. The plot and script were really stupid. Great actors in it, like Raymond Burr and others, but there is a limit to what they can do. Second, he praised how gracious Raymond Burr was. Always very polite to his fans. If interrupted during a meal at a restaurant, he would stand and greet them, maybe pose for a picture, or sign a quick autograph, exchange a few kind words, and sit back down to his cold dinner. Always professional. And three, never tell a star that “I am your biggest fan”. They hate it. Even if it’s true, keep it a secret.

Great film and so many films made about so many great people over the years but when they are made they memorialise those good people and the great things they have done.but so sad to see many of those films and documentaries disaper but see them again on UA-cam such an education but also so sad to know that a lot of material not allowed on UA-cam as Film and tv companies hold on to the copyright for ever and what for but such a touching end to the story at the end for the boy with the watch.my father would have enjoyed that film so much.see you again one day father ❤️

I don't recall this at all from way back in '73 (I was a teen - "Ironside" was still running on NBC but I didn't watch it regular;y) but became aware of it only when reading a list of the late great Raymond Burr's credits a few years ago. The late great Mr Burr (one of my fave actors) is almost unrecognizable under all that makeup - but no mistaking that distinctive voice ! Very interesting & intriguing !

I thought this was going to cover more of his life but this was merely the story of Pope John's saving the Jewish children on the ship. This has been told countless times over. But it was still good nonetheless.
Strange I don't remember this airing on Easter back in '73. As a child, I used to watch most of the holiday specials and movies.

I have been blessed to have been born under the reign of Pius 12 through to Pope Frankie (useless socialist commie) St John XXIII still in my book the greatest pope in the 20th and so far 21st century. John Paul 1 had he not been killed would have been so much like St John XXIII.
If you can read the biography of St John XXIII it is called I will be called John. I can tell you once you start you will not put it down and I can tell you will cry at the end.
I praise UA-cam.com for allowing the old movies/vids of our Popes through the ages. Thanks to all the men women and children who put these pictures and movies together for history.
Folks it does not matter if you are religious or not, belong to this faith or not, go to church or not, so long as you believe in HIM and love HIM and practice the Golden Rule, is that not what HE hopes we will all do. To Love HIM< to help one another including humans and animals of the land, air and sea, to respect all life, to abhor killing of the unborn, is that not all part of the the Golden Rule.
I pray daily for all of the people of the world and ask HIM to help those who have lost their faith in HIM or worse are true atheist. I pray that before they die they will come to know HIM and Love Him.
My sister a devout Catholic lost her faith when our mother died (she was 46 died from breast cancer), then over the years my sister was farther from the faith did not even attend my ordination. I always prayed for her and sadly she died brain disease and not saying anything to HIM. I still hope in my heart she did come to peace and ask HIS love and forgiveness.
I have friends who are non believers and they will mock me and crack their jokes and I always come back with this observation...
If when I die, I find out there is No GOD, what have I lost? what some time for prayers, Mass, etc?
But if when I die, there HE IS and I died as a non believer what will you do, what can you do? I doubt HE gives a do over.
The movie Defending Your Life, is a decent idea of what life after death is. Comedy and with some very good points.
I wonder can you DEFEND YOUR LIFE before HIM?
As for the atheists, what do you call them when they die? A guy/gal, all dressed up with no place to go.
I wish you all good life, and may you know HIM as a friend and talk to HIM daily as you would your best buddy.
No need for prayers memorized as we did from childhood. Talk to HIM as you would a buddy using your own words, thoughts. I find the best time to chat is when I am driving, walking the dogs, late at night when I cannot sleep or in pain. HE is always there to listen. You may not get a response right away maybe never, but I am sure in my heart when we pass to HIM for our judgement, all of our talks with HIM will be remembered.
May OUR LORD Bless you and yours and all of the living and departed humans and animal friends and bring you peace now and all of the days.
In HIS words...For lo I shall be without even unto the end of the world (time).
    Pax+

tambrosia - I find your comment very confusing. You talk about HE and HIM all the time but no mention of HE and HIM being GOD. Your message on the whole was sounding good until you persecuted Pope Francis! What I cannot understand, is that your sister did not attend your ordination? so 100% you were not ordained a priest because a Catholic priest would not say such things about the pope, certainly not in a post on UA-cam Maybe you were a priest who has been laicized and is taking your frustration out on pope Francis? Maybe your sister did not go to your ordination because she thought you to be unworthy.

    • @tambrosia
      @tambrosia 4 роки тому

@@lindasanderson1699 I was ordained and still am a priest. I can still speak about anyone I care as it is our right under the 1st amendment. To persecute the marxist/commie/socialist pope frankie is my right under our laws and even under the laws of the Church. I owe Allegiance to HIM (GOD) alone, and my Nation, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Just review what Pope frankie did before his elevation and since his elevation. How Frankie has helped muslims and not the Christians being killed by the muslims. Where has he denounced and done something about it? Hint NOTHING. What about the 1200+ Christians killed on the dark continent, Africa, where and what has frankie done. But not to be outdone, John Paul 2 was worse than Frankie and stop calling JP2 as GREAT he is John Paul 2, who hid more bishops, cardinals and priests in the Vatican who were child molesters, like Cardinal Law of Boston and bishop Paul Marchinkus the Vatican Banker who drove banks out of business with his illegal dealings. So dear Linda, I worked in the Vatican and know a hell of a lot more of the deep swamp in the Curia than you a lay person could ever imagine. I speak my mind and if HE (GOD) does not like it I am sure HE (GOD) will let me know. You know I bet you are a member of the demorat party if I am right say so, if not let me know and I will donate $100 to our local SPCA>

@@lindasanderson1699 as for my sister who did not come to my ordination, not that I was unworthy (wow and you call yourself a Christian with that comment), she would not walk into any church for any reason from the falling she had with HIM (GOD).
WOW I bet JESUS must really love the fake Christians like you....Bet you walk by a homeless person and a stray dog...if I am wrong prove it. How much do you donate for the homeless animals, stray animals, how about the homeless people and esp. the homeless disabled veterans of the USA? Come on Linda what do you do daily to help those less fortunate than yourself? Here is a hint with my limited funds I support 10 senior, heart patient dogs, I help the homeless with blankets, coats, socks, food. not bragging I do my best with my limited resources. I wonder Linda when was the last time, if ever, you sat down and ate a meal you made, with a homeless person and their dog? When was the last time you ever went to the VA Hospital and volunteered to help a disabled veteran? Wait Wait never, you were too busy...like nancy pelosi getting her hair done.
Prove me wrong and I will send $100 to our local animal spca shelter....but if I am right then you send $100 to your local spca/animal shelter...Christians like you are as useless as the one ball on obama.
Oh me oh my I must be executed for what I said....lololol

I recall a story about John XXIII when he was going to have lunch with the Head Rabbi of Rome.
The rabbi was escorted in the the room of mirrors. When the door close it was impossible to find the door.
A few minutes later a door opened and John XXIII entered the room, he saw the confusion on the Rabbi's face and he put his finger to his lips and said ssh I am lost too.
Talk about the laughter these men had. Then when called for lunch, the Rabbi insisted John XXIII go 1st and no the Pope said no Rabbi Old Testament goes before the New Testament.
John XXIII did so much good especially in WW2 saving so many Jewish children.
Pope Pius XII also did much to help the Jews by giving Catholic birth certificates and affidavits to Jews escaping the Nazis.
So disgusting to hear people under the age of 30 saying the Holocaust is fake and never happened. One thing General Esinehower told his men, take pictures and movies of all of the death and work camps. To see the walking dead, living corpses and these liberal teachers and people under age 30, saying this never happened.
If you do not look at History it will repeat itselfs.
But you Joe Biden wants ISLAM to be taught in all schools, but not so for any other faith!

A little trivia about the man and the movie.
Angelo Roncalli spoke English, with an Italian accent with an Irish bogue, which he learned from his assistant, Thomas Ryan.
In the last month of his life, he made Thomas Ryan, his assistant in the movie, a bishop.
And curiously enough, Raymond Burr did get to know Angelo Roncalli and they became friends. Apparently, soon after becoming pope, John XXIII requested an audience from the famous American actor, Raymond Burr. He wanted advice on how to communicate with people more effectively. Plus, he was a big fan of “Perry Mason”. Raymond Burr was pleased to get to play the role of his friend. He said “I did it so that at least I would give it a certain amount of care and thought. I would not have shamed him."

Being a traditional Catholic makes me wonder what went wrong with the council. As I understand it the bishops were simply wanting the mass to be said in the vernacular without any change to the form of the mass. They felt that use of the vernacular would teach the Christocentric nature of the sacrifice in the mass, It seems to me that unless you have a deep theological understanding of the new mass the point is missed entirely. It is obvious that the Church changed after Vatican II and we left behind certain things that should have never been left behind. Perhaps the worst thing is that we left a sense of being the One True Church. We came just short of embracing the protestant heresy for the sake of some false unity. Pope John XXIII was an exceptional man with a sense of vision and had an ineradicable ability to forgive those who wronged him. My priests are members of the FSSP and in talking with them I have learned a great deal. Some things needed to be changed and some did not. The strength of the Catholic Church is that she has always stayed true to the faith once delivered for all mankind. She teaches no new thing. Our weakness since Vatican II is that our bishops by enlarge have compromised in the name of a unity that will never come about. In my opinion Vatican II was a needed council but the bishops went way too far by saying that we all worship the same God. The Catholic Church worships the one God who has revealed Himself to Moses in the Old Covenant, and to the Catholic Church in the New Covenant through the incantation of Jesus Christ. When God reveals this truth to your heart you must accept the Catholic faith to the exclusion of all else. This is why the Church has said in times past that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. This is not to say that all protestants are lost because we do not know who will and who will not be saved. If they receive a Catholic baptism in the name of the Holy Trinity and they live a faithful life they will be saved in spite of there religion not because of it. All we know for sure is that God wants all men to be saved but not all men will be saved. Jesus will rid His Church of false shepherds and the world of the protestant heresy one day and the world will be better off. Protestantism is even now collapsing and falling in on itself after 500 years. Here in the US, a protestant country, more and more people embrace atheism. In Europe wherever the Catholic Church has been forsaken it too is in decline and failing. Most of this since Vatican II. Maybe it is time for Vatican III to straiten all this mess out. I see evidence of a generation of holy young people that are sick of life without hope in the utopian world they have been promised by both communism and capitalism. Post Generation X and the Millennial Generation are looking for truth and they will find it. They will pay a horrible price but they will bring the Church back to holiness and transform the Church with lives of total conversion. The devil has had his 100 years and the Church still stands. Now it is Christs turn and He will glorify His bride the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
