At what point does fishing for steelhead become not okay? where i live, there are tons of these small creeks with tons of steelhead in them, but our community refrains from fishing them because we believe they are spawning throughout the creeks length as they enter from the ocean. Alot of this creek looks like it could be spawn habitat, but what do i know.
You bring up a good point. But, if this had been a spawning situation they would have refrained. Their ethics will always override their desire to fish.
Couple questions... For the tighter spots are you using straight mono off the shooting head here? Is there any weight besides the fly? I don't think I'm seeing any tip. Also, are you swinging beads here? If so, have you sound that effective? Thanks for all you do, love OPST!
It's Hilarious (good funny), when you call the Resident Rainbow trout Residential-Rainbow we love to fish for them, but don't quite want to live in them yet!😃🤠🥺 Peace ✌️
@ michaelsw0rd:Just because the shallow river, looks good to us as spawning ground, it doesn't mean however, that every meter of it is suitable Redd for Steelhead!! But such rivers Can become favorite places for for outlaws to target for Snagging ☹️
Oh. We didn't have any true micros with us on this trip unfortunately (cause we're dumb). That single hander was a 9'6" 6 weight. I would have liked to have a 3 or 4 weight from 7'6" to 10 feet, with 150-175 grain Commandos. We did have them the second year we were there, but wouldn't you know it we didn't see any trout that year at all.
+Benjamin Paull Awesome, thanx. Just started throwing a 250 on a 6wt Sage here in Utah for big browns. Need some serious casting lessons, but otherwise I don't know if I'll ever go back.
this is a dream fishing trip.. this movie is put together with taste...well done
Thanks a lot!
Great fishing. One day I'll get there. That bowl of food looked so good too!
Totally jealous! The grass is always greener!
10:46 the funniest part. Not your average fly fishing fish :-)
Excellent video like always!!!
Beautiful video, i enjoyed watching.... Thanks for sharing
Can you tell me please what time of the year was that. Thanks

what flys do you use for flounder
When's the next trip?
What....no directions on how to get there???
hahaha I don't think we could understand what the directions looked like in lat and long!
What length and wt rod are you using mainly? Line gr?
The best rod for the steelhead fishery is a 10 foot 7 or 8 weight.
I wondering specifically for the singlehand micro skagit I am assuming he is using. Thanks though.

And we had a 250 grain Commando on that 6 weight
