I had no idea I was going to get so emotional watching this. Amazing story of two amazing heroes.
This is the most beautiful show ever!!!❤ Thank you to everyone that came together to celebrate our amazing heroes of all times. I am a 52 year old female from New Zealand and never as a woman's perspective understood why there ever had to be wars in our world 🌎.It always bothered me that these beautiful men& women had to lose their lives for such a thing. But here I am now in total ore of these amazing human beings that fort for mine & my family's existence, for ti's I am forever Great full ❤️. REST IN PEACE.
less we forget. and great thanks to the Dutch people who keep the memorys alive as well.
Thank you❤ not us.
My father was the first paratrooper to land on the Groesbeck Heights. I have a piece of this parachute. He made it through Holland and the Battle of the Burge and he got blown up and the Ziegrid Line. HQ squad, Easy Company, 2nd Batallion, 505th Regiment...
I can raise my son in freedom because of what your father did. Thank you❤
Airborne all the way.
tears in my eyes of the story of manning haney...can't imagine what it's like for his 3rd cousin to see all that Manning stuff
Absolutely beautiful way to honor the men who came before!! ❤
"No Mission Too Difficult, No Sacrifice Too Great! Duty First!" Yes, it's the motto of the 1st Infantry Division, but just somehow seems appropriate here. Great episode.
TRULY AMAZING STORY!! AND THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE TO HONOR THESE MEN,,,, HAND SALUTE
Hitting me in the feels. Great stuff
this is a testament of a generation of fighters, 17- to 19-year-old boys & men fighting for freedom from oppression. War is a very vicious and chaotic place , full of no certainties or guarantees that you will come home in the same way you left ... Glory to the Fallen
We owe them so much.
I cry for the men who lost their lives on this battle. I also cry for the mothers and families.
I can raise my son in freedom because of what they did.
One of my favorite documentary series
My heart shatters when I think of so many young men’s ultimate sacrifice and the state our county is in today. 😢
What country?
Incredible!
Amazing story.....
Awesome
I had a para helmet from a British Arnhem veteran. Put it on ebay about 14 years ago hoping to get 30 pounds. It was rusty and the leather had gone brittle. Amazed when it went for 326 pounds.
Love these types of documentaries
unfortunately its american thuis its focused on the wrong part of the operation, basically how to lie when you not lying
Wow. Just wow…
Montgomery's Folly
Let's go
0:52 why do you call it war junk ?
You should have visited the Oorlogsmuseum at Overloon. A huge museum founded on one of the battlegrounds of Operation Marketgarden. By the way the country is called The Netherlands not Holland.
The presentation was helpful. However remember this mission was a complete failure. Montgomery assumed everything would ruin like clockwork. War never runs that way. Monty’s ego run amok. What a tragic waste!
Another armchair expert.
As my Grandpa Al described Montgomery as "Someone who thought more of himself then he really was "....
Your granddad was spot on!
@BillTupper-un1zq Grandpa Al generally was "spot on" when he said something.....
The man built up a chain of men's clothing stores in Chicago from a small store in the late 1940's to 25 separate locations.
And he served in the Army Air Corps over Europe in B-17's as well. He could have stayed home due to being draft deferred for the war effort but he chose to waive it and go.
He never considered himself to be a hero for going....He felt it was his obligation to go.
3rd cousin? Give me a break!
When you make a documentary
Say it correctly
The Netherlands not Holland
We all know what you mean
Hait furer
fun fact or maybe not a fun fact depends on how you see it....market garden was already lost at veghel
