We budgeted based on how much we are willing to pay, we didn't have an ang bao box during our wedding but most of our guest gave us some ang bao or gifted us presents. :)
Just contacted RISE restaurant (19 Mar 2022) with regards to lunch reception. Due to covid restriction they now only offer sit down menu...but it is now $120+ per pax!! Minimum spending on F&B is now SGD $8,400.00. The 7-course sit down menu they offered is also very unattractive (Marinated Salmon, Tom Yam Soup, Slow cooked Chicken breast, Roasted Salt Marshed Lamb Rack/Roasted 120 Days Grain-Fed Beef Ribeye, Baby Cabbage, Roasted Duck Fried Rice, Warm Papaya with Peach Gum, Coffee & Tea). Would rather go for a nice seafood restaurant at that price point.
Wow the inflation is high! Thanks for sharing. They changed our menu from buffet to course menu. The course menu then around 75++ but they offered us the buffet cost because we alrdy confirmed it in the contract. Still quite crazy how much the prices have increased since.
Hi, may I know how did u secure such a good lunch reception package? Based on what I see in the restaurant link, their packages start at $138++ per pax for a 6-course meal.
It was a direct booking w the restaurant for 50pax so we were charged based on per pax. No package as we didn’t go for decor or invites! Initially we wanted the ROM in club 55 then buffet at Rise which was this package: www.marinabaysands.com/content/dam/revamp/restaurants/restaurant-details/club55/menus/Club55-Wedding-Packages.PDF but then it was unavailable. Where’s the link you saw?
Good idea! We started planning beginning of last year so it was about 6 months, but booked our venue about 4 months before actual day. It’s super late usually I’ll recommend for people to plan about 1 year prior.
Have yet done much research on the no. of pax/budget below, but here are some places (outside of hotels): - Parks: Botanic Gardens - Botanico, Bishan Park - Canopy, The Villa and Forest Pavilion at Singapore Botanic Gardens - Beaches: Sentosa area - Ola Beach club, Coastes, Tanjong Beach Club, FOC Sentosa | East Coast area: Not sure if PS cafe allows solemnisation - Cafe Melba at Mediapolis (they have a nice lawn outside their cafe, food is great too!) For hotels I really love Fullerton straits room. But I think the max was 100 people pre covid.
I just enquired with the f&b dept instead of the wedding sales dept. Depending on how the hotel works they maybe have separate departments. For my case, I think it might be because Marina bay sands is a huge hotel so they have separate teams for f&b, banquet, catering, events etc. It should be allowed since I don’t need to speak to their wedding coordinator if I don’t need all the extra frills (ie flowers, invites). I just need a venue + food like how you hold a birthday/baby shower.
Yes I did! It was too long for me. I did it at Sincere Fashion Tailor 6454 9290 goo.gl/maps/jmuT79JtEx89p7dE7 It was a simple alteration and they also help to see if u need dry cleaning service as well.
So can I know is it you didn’t do a pre wedding photoshoot because it doesn’t seems to be in the cost? Also you didn’t engage a bridal shop for your wedding?
Yes, We didn’t do any prewedding shoot. Instead we just took some pictures prior to our Holy matrimony/Solemnisation. No we didn’t engage any bridal shop, all our outfits, photographers and make up artists are ala carte!
I seeee! That’s amazing! Do you find it hard to shortlist vendors and coordinate everything? Cos i’m only at the initial stage of planning my own wedding and i’m already frustrated at choosing the venue etc 🤣🤣
Yes it was quite stressful for us too. Especially w the covid situation it can be overwhelming. The shortlisting of vendors would need time since you’ll need to do lots of research. Having a table to compare the vendors offerings also helps in decision making (I did that for the venue/photo/video since they are higher costs) At the end of our wedding planning we got decision fatigue since there are so much options to choose from.
We enquired for the solemnisation at L55 + buffet lunch at rise www.marinabaysands.com/content/dam/revamp/restaurants/restaurant-details/club55/menus/Club55-Wedding-Packages.PDF But they don’t have club55 anymore so we ended up not going for any package but booking for 50pax lunch instead! You can try enquiring directly with the hotel’s f&b restaurants to see if you can book with them instead via their wedding team. We saved quite a bit since we skipped all the invites, flower decor, etc.
For us, we did our solemnisation at the same area so no additional cost. We only paid for the food! We wanted buffet but ended up due to covid, they changed it to 7 course meal.
Food and sceneries will be nice! Even hiccups during your trip can be things good to share so that we can learn from it too =). Looking forward to it 🙂
@@NowRealise Notice that you didnt have an emcee. Were there any activities during the wedding lunch? video/photo collage on the projector? Or did everyone just eat and leave?
I have an ‘emcee’ to introduce our walk-in during holy matrimony + covid rules. That’s it! No speech no frills, no rara for us. So we didn’t have any projectors or show any childhood stuff. We prefer people to eat and go. Our event was from 12- 3. But somehow it ended close to 4pm ish.
At first I was considering to do away with the entire ceremony and simply register our marriage since it seems near impossible to organize an affordable one, but am so inspired now after viewing your video! Thank you for sharing such helpful tips! Did you have the entire restaurant to yourselves or was a private space portioned out to cater for your wedding whereas the rest of the space was open to public? Also, everyone/thing looks soo beautiful :)
Thanks for the sweet note! I used to be a wedding planner and know that planning weddings can be pricey and it’s an emotional spending (once in a lifetime event + making sure that you want that dream wedding + pressure from parents etc.). Part of the restaurant area is portioned out for our wedding + there’s a private entrance separated from the main entrance to the restaurant. So it’s semi private so if you are someone who values privacy, this location might not work.
@@NowRealise Hello! Thanks so much for your sharing, it gave me a different perspective about budgeting for weddings! I’m curious about your actual day luncheon, was there the usual emcee, live band or projector to show your video montage? What about walking down the aisle?
apologies the comments were in spam (not sure what happened to YT filter) I had a friend to do the emcee part to talk about the rules and introduce our walk in. No live band, no projectors or montage. For walking down the aisle, we had music playing but the sound system provided by the hotel was not great. Also since it's a semi public area, you can't really have loud music too. So if you are looking into the same location, recommend that you bring your own sound system if possible.

now Hi, may I know about how many months in adv do you book for your wedding venue?
Hello! If I didn’t recall wrongly We booked 4 months earlier. I think most wedding venues in Singapore would allow bookings 1 year in advance
Awesome sharing! Just wondering where did you do the tea ceremony at?
At the solemnisation area after we are done and during lunch service we held our tea ceremony.
