@jbejibear yeah that place did seem bigger ! both locations are convenient though,. how many nights did you stay at the china town one? would you go back again?
I stayed at First Cabin Tsukiji in Tokyo and it only costs me SGD$35 per night and the capsule was alot bigger and just as comfortable. AUD$55 is around SGD$50 per night. Not really cheap though but considering this is Singapore, the world's most expensive country, there is not much choice if you travel on a budget.
Really enjoyed 2 of your vids so far, Janice: the Jewel at Changi and the Capsule at Kampong Glam. Very informative. I just wanted to mention that maybe u could have mentioned the cost per night of the capsule stay. Or did I miss that bit? As for Jewel, if u are ever coming to check out Jewel inSG again (I think you did say you will), you can do the same procedure but make your way first to T1 (the nearest terminal to Jewel) and unload all your luggage there. You can acquire a locker to place yr luggage and then tour Jewel before you check in.
Thank you so much for checking my videos out Juliet! :) I mentioned the price really briefly (it was $55 AUD a night/ ~$51 SGD a night) thanks so much for the tips Juliet; i'll keep that in mind next time i visit Singapore again :D
Holy cow there was a capsule hotel in SG?? Never heard b4.... 2:06 Cheyyy, I hardly go there, the last time I went there was with my RC, and it's cos we had some sort of activity. 2:10 Wow. Then again, some ppl sleep at 2am everyday.
U can check out st signature boutique hotels as well next time :) for around the same price, i think u will get a more private space, like a room to yrself but in a similar upper/lower bed concept
I took a break from studying & stumbled on this video. The moment the knob dropped, I was like "oh shit oh shit oh shit!" and laughing to myself. Thanks for making my day!
staying is sg for more than 5 years but i never see one lol. cause usually my friend going to hotel or just staying with relatives. this looks cool, suitable for solo traveler
I always wondered about that capsule hotel everytime i pass it! It looks pretty cool- thanks for reviewing it. Hope you enjoyed your time in Singapore😊
your download/upload speed remind me when I had NBN issue back few months ago. I thought it waas fine and I might need an upgrade, but turn out it's technical issue, NBN technician came over and fixed it. My NBN use to be around your numbers, but it improves to somewhere around 50/20 of which my NBN speed is. If that's your actual speed and you share with someone else, that is not good.
... Every time i went to SG, i go for like $15-$20 per night. Yes its also capsule or bunk beds. It was clean (as long as its not on little india) and bit less that sophisticated. $55 is still high for backpacker's
Fun review of capsule hotel Janice 👍🏻 We really want to try once as we’ve never done it before, to test out the experience 😃 Haha the cabinets are pretty fragile, they should fix it I think. Lolll the internet at your home is so slowww! 14 minutes upload for 2 hours will drive us crazy 😝 maybe switch to cable or NBN if you haven’t got it yet. We must admit, internet in Aussie kinda sucks compared to other countries 😔
Noice review! I stayed at The 11 Room (decent) and Central 65 Hostel (bathroom is a hole) on my recent visits to S'pore this year; both are capsule hostels. I'll be staying at The Q Loft hotel this time when I head back there later this month ;) it's around the same price as the capsule hotels so let's see how that goes! Love capsules though...I'm 5'1...very travel-size :P Next time you're in S'pore you should visit Geylang (the good part) and try frog leg porridge HEHEHEHEHE...there's also other great local food stuff there too.
just googled 11 Room - the pics looked pretty good! haha yes you are very travel size, perfect for the capsules. the q loft look decent -let me know how you go with it though because im keen to go back again. frog leg porridge.... tastes like chicken eh?
The price is pretty good Janice but I gotta say that everything if falling apart n the music is pretty loud 😂 don't think I'd stay there... for $25 more you can get an airbnb 🤔😁👍
Hahaha I also think you guys are too tall for it (you guys seem really tall in your videos) I booked accomodation a tad too late and there weren’t many options left on Airbnb anymore 😪
I stayed at this exact cube capsule hotel and my experience was horrid. My room was next to the kitchen and first there were many dead cockroaches on the ground. Second, there was a strong sewer smell on the entire first floor. The smell was very prominent in the kitchen and the tiny shoe locker section next to it, you wouldn't want to stay there for more than a sec. Lastly, the toiletry like toilet paper was very rough and unsanitary, there were ants crawling over it everywhere, and the floor was always wet. The rooms and beds themselves were very clean and comfortable however. Overall, I would rate this a 2/10 and I highly recommend staying somewhere else. This is nothing like any capsule hotels you would stay at other countries like Japan, so if you do end up staying here please do not have that kind of expectation.
Kinda fascinated by capsule hotels! This was a really interesting look at one and everything here seems pretty cool! Thanks so much for sharing this! :) Also, to answer your question, we don't normally travel with our pillows but totally get it! Lol. I often wish I had mine!
@@JaniceFung Hi Janice , as the saying goes.treat your job as a hobby and you never work again...and thats what u doin now..keep it up and take care on your travels...
I can relate to you Janice, I am 6'8 so most of the time, I was awake. I too did have the problem with the reading light. The management at first asked me if I would like to check in other hotel, but I wanted to try the capsule suite so I said no and I enjoyed it, somehow. 😅😅
Breaking things aren't you? 😂😂 This is a very interesting video. I always wanted to try one of these capsule hotels after hearing about ones in Japan. They only give you 1 shoe locker? How am I supposed to live?? 😂😂 Jkjk. Clean bathroom, shower, laundry, free bfast, fast internet speed - not bad! Nice Supreme giveaway haha.
hahaha i promise it wasnt entirely my fault!!! XD yeah i've always wanted to try the ones in japan but never had to chance to yet so im just staying at capsule hotels wherever i go as a substitute. HAHA yes.... only one shoe locker... you probs wont survive there
Thanks for sharing this form of hotel accommodation I didn't know exist in Singapore, being a Singaporean myself. You are hilarious at times, sorry that you got sick during your visit to Singapore.
Thank you for sharing. This capsule hotel appears slightly less like a coffin than the Sydney capsule hotel, but still not a good option for anyone who is claustrophobic. You stayed 3 nights?! And thumping music till midnight?! You taught me that capsule hotels are definitely not for me.
ahaha - this one was definitely more comfortable than the sydney one. but yes.. it's still on the small side and anyone who's taller than me won't like it much at all....
I'm planning a trip to Japan which was delayed last year due to the CV crisis. I'm in the US and instead of just a plain round trip I want to circumvent the globe. Singapore Airlines with an overnight layover is an option I'm considering. It's a sneaky way to see another part of Asia on the way to Europe.
Naz and I would totally do this just for the experience. Looks like fun! Esp in japan we hear they are pretty cool there. Solid build on the construction😉😂😂
That capsule hotel looks really low tech compared to some others on UA-cam whereby you control the light levels via a touch screen panel not an old fashioned knob that came off in your hands!
Um... there were I think 6 on the level I was on, having said that I never really had to wait to use the bathroom. There was always one available whenever I needed it

OMG same haha I didn't know
There are many capsule hotels in Singapore. Even some with themes.
Doesn't matter if everything else isn't ideal, as long as the Internet speed is good 😂👍🏼

Capsule hotels in Singapore are more affordable than the hotels but even thou the hotels are quite expensive it is really great
Fibre broadband speeds in singapore can reach 800mbps download

Interesting! this capsule hotel seems bit bigger than other capsule hotels we've ever seen..and the bed looks soo comfy! :)
yeah that bed was pretty comfy! oh really?! i can't imagine capsules being any smaller than this one!
