Just sold a wrx and got a 01 Corolla. Might be slow but has a good 5 speed and it's easy and cheap to fix and rarely has a y issues. Shy of a motor replacement it's peanuts to fix.
I think ppl unfamiliar with Manual transmission cars would be pleasantly surprised how much more enjoyable they are a d fromy experience seem to present much less gremlin plagued thsn their automatic counterparts.
Had a 2014 focus SE 5 speed and I abused it both with how I drive but mostly with our crumbling roads and uses it for delivery jobs and transporting ppl jobs and had 240 k when I sold it. No engine issues ever. Great car imo.
@@xnopyt13 power steering rack at 180k. Cost me $1400 but I'm pretty confident it was a result of the roads I drive on and how aggressively I drove it, also drove it in the mountains for many thousands of miles. Other than that, been fine. Wouldn't drive like a mad man but is fairly comfortable and zippy.
@@remissiveslave nice! I’m considering getting one when the market stop being crazy, manual Ford Focus and fiesta seem like good cars that don’t have much brand tax, unlike Japanese brands.
@@xnopyt13 the focus is more reliable than. Fiesta. Also, be smoothe with shifting to, replaced transmission because I basically ruined 3rd gear. Got wholesale tran for 900 and fixed for around 1100, once again, not cars fault, I put that thing through a 245k mile stress test from hell. Never didn't turn on other than alt @ 220+- k went out. Live in VT, deal with -20-30° so that stresses batteries out like crazy.
Side airbags has been out for a lot of years now in cars older than 2008.. and that Focus is the 2nd Gen the 1st Gen was the ugly one with the very small grill and Chinese style head lights...
Driving a 5-speed and recording, multitasking champion right here.
He shifts with left hand damn lol
pretty decent price in this market, great video need more of these compact segment cars!
Ford did own a significant part of Mazda back in the day. Focus could be sitting on a Mazda chassis!
What we know for sure is the engine was made with mazda
my grandpareents have a 2005 focus with almost 200k miles. its driven a lot, starts right up

I have a 2009 and manual locks and roll up windows. That's the part I don't like
Manual windows i like for maintenance reasons. But power lock are always a must. Great cars tho. Keep that oil changed. Last forever
