That Focus looks so clean. Can't believe it's so old. Must be loved by her owner(s).
Indeed, this is an immaculate car, it is actually my mother's, she takes real good care of it.. appreciate you watching
@@TriGogglin Props to your mother for keeping it so clean. My '08 SES has 207k miles on the original engine and auto transmission, gift from my mother 🙂
Quick question about the third mount -- does it need to be replaced as well??
Thank you.. the third mount usually lasts longer, and not many people fool with it. But others say to change it with the others. I say I it ain't broke don't fix it. And save the money for next time..
I highly dislike playing mechanic because im that lucky dude that turns a 20 mins job into hours haha. But good job pappy! Focus looks good nice and clean!
Thanks Ian, clean but not as clean as yours.. some times I get those moments too. The 1 nut or bolt that gets ya every time.. thanks for watching..
My experience - use the factory mount, especially on the passenger side. What a difference, even compared to a new aftermarket mount (they were just ok). Forget the inserts!
Thank you, good to know. I'm sure I'll be doing this again.. appreciate this comment.
You made it look so simple well done and enjoyed...mechanics 101 👍Darrell
Thank you Darrell, this one is one of the simpler fixes I've done in a long time.. sure appreciate you watching. And if you know someone with this car, you can tell them whats wrong with it now.. 🤣👍
Your car is super clean and rust free
Thank you, we'll taken care of.. but up close you can see it's age... appreciate the compliment and you watching
Thank you! I've been holding off on doing this with my '08 for 3 years. Your instructions were simple to follow!😊
So glad I could help, hope it's just as easy for you. Appreciate you watching,
Awesome and easy video . Thank you. I was really nervous about changing this till your video.
@@rosannarios5664 glad I could help. There is a third mount in the middle at the bottom but it is usually good in most cases but it's not hard to do either. Just take a look at it and make sure it still looks decent. I only focused on the main 2 that are always bad.. appreciate you watching
TY , I saw that when I ordered the pack. I really love how easy to fix and inexpensive most things are on these cars.
Good video! i have done all the engine mounts there is a third motor mount on the bottom rear. The passenger side mount have changed it 3 time in 130.000 miles the others just once.
Thank you, appreciate that, 3 Times for the passenger side.. that sucks. Definitely a poor design. I should if mentioned the bottom mount but it wad good. And I got so into making a video I forgot to at least talk about it.. I appreciate you watching and commenting.. thank you..
Clean engine bay, we believe in the same things. I'm going to try a full set I purchased on Amazon for 57$, I did receive them and they look as good as original, time will tell.
The worst part is bending over the clip if you got the one with out the bracket.. but it's a pretty straight forward easy job. Appreciate you watching good luck. Yeah clan engine bay alot nicer to work in.
super focus, I have one just like it!! I want to know if you changed the air filter and how and where you got it!! thank you
The triangle shaped box by the battery, on this model, some others may have it in different locations. But there are 3 clips to open it. And i got the air filter at Walmart. But if you don't find it there, any Auto zone should have it or can get it. Hope that helps, appreciate you watching
That looks much easier than i though it would be.
@@ck6045 it is pretty easy and straight forward, the only thing I forgot to mention, was there is another engine mount on the bottom, but in my experience, and I'm no professional, but I have never had to change it, it's usually good a lot longer than the other 2 in this video
@@TriGogglin yea i changed that one too. It was easy. First suspended the front of the car with jackstands. Then put jacks under the motor. I put one on both sides to evenly support it. And when putting the new one on i had to manually push the motor back a little so the bolts could fit. Overall took about 15 minutes. Quick and easy. Appreciate your guidance 💯
@@TriGogglin i love these kind of cars when the repairs are diy friendly.
I like this video bc I have a ford focus 2008 and I have been having problems with it
Yeah check them motor mounts if you have similar problems like this one.. if thats the case, hope this helps. Appreciate you watching
Thank you for this video 💯
@@ck6045 very welcome, hope it helps.. appreciate you watching
Awesome fix!! Looks clean for 2008👍🙂
Thanks Ralph, yeah she's a beauty.. well taken care of...
What a smart man you are. Have a great day!
🤣🤣 thanks Val, I just try to save that money where ever I can.. and maybe help someone else.. appreciate you watching, hope you have a great weekend
There you go badda bing badda boom slicker than s....
😎👍
🤣🤣 easy peasy, one of the easiest repair jobs I've done in a while.. thanks for watching Dave
Good job Pappy , you made it look easy and saved a ton of money . Nice looking car thats really clean . Thanks 👍
Thank you Jerry, yeah it definitely saved parts and labor prices, and it's as easy as it looks, at least on this car. Appreciate you watching, hopefully this will help someone else..
Nice Fix Pappy. Now I know who to call if I need some automobile work done.
🤣🤣 thanks matt, I Do try, but definitely wouldn't want to be a mechanic. But saves ya money when you can do it your self.
@@TriGogglin I agree 100 percent.
Nice you were able to fix it yourself! (Jenny)
Thanks, I always try. If I can I will, so I'll post for a public service to the next guy who needs help.. thanks for watching..
@@TriGogglin for sure! UA-cam is where everyone goes to find out how to do something. Great job!
Look at Pappy the mechanic gooooo.. nice Pappy glad you got it fixed.. 😊
Thanks Jorge, gotta save them penny's where ever you can. And maybe this can help someone else.. appreciate you watching
Nice work Pappy. Damn 15 years and needing motor mounts? They sure don’t make ‘em like they used to that’s for sure. You definitely saved some coin doing it yourself, imagine what you’d pay taking it to a shop, especially a dealership where they always seem to find extra ‘things’ wrong that need replacing that really don’t. You earned your ‘Man Card’ today Pappy💪🏼😎🇺🇸
Thanks Stretch, yeah the ford focus is notorious for the motor mounts, but that's not bad for 15 years and it's the only thing wrong with it. But yeah everything I can do ill do to save a buck. My refrigerator went out yesterday and I fixed it with a new defrost board. Definitely saved money there. And I've had those experiences with dealer's saying other things are wrong. 🤣🤣 glad I get to keep my man card.. 🤣 appreciate you watching. Figured you like the car things...
very clean focus. do you live outside of the rust belt??
Very well maintained by the former owner, and well maintained by my mother. I'm in central Ohio with salt on the roads. Wish my truck looked this good. 🤣 Appreciate you watching
Wow. Amazing Pappy. Impressive how clean the engine is. Now, can you fix my N scale vehicle engine? It won’t start at all. Good good good, good vibrations… 🎵 🤣😆😂
🤣🤣 momma likes clean cars, if I get my N scale running I'll fix yours 🤣🤣 appreciate you watching Drew
@@TriGogglin 😀😎👍🏼
How many miles does that car have? That thing looks brand new damn near.
Hello Skylight, it's a beauty, 15 years old, 21,600 on it.. my moms car. Appreciate you watching..
@@TriGogglin Tell her I'll buy that vehicle for any price at any time(if it's ever for sale). I'm a huge fan of these specific cars and having a mint condition one would be awesome.
I'll keep that in mind, but she really likes her car...
Awesome video, thank you
Appreciate that, hope it helps.. thanks for watching
Thanks bro 🥴
Welcome, glad I could help.. appreciate you watching and the comment
Good video, but Lord Pappy, don't get my started on cars. I'm still working on Trains😅😂😅😂😅😊
🤣👍🤣🤣 just a friendly public service announcement for those in need... 🤣🤣 thanks Tammy
What is the torque specs for the engine mounts
Oh dang, that's a good question. I forgot to put in there,, 35 ft-lbs on the Engine mount bolts and stud bolt and 66 ft-lbs for Engine mount nuts. Appreciate you watching. Hope it helped
@TriGogglin it does, thank you. I've gotten different results and have been trying to replace my motor mounts but couldn't find torque specs.
I'll get 70 pounds for passengers and 55 for driver or one will say 120 pounds on both sides and I'm not trying to break it lol
I've seen 59 on the bolts but average things I've come across is the 35.. and 66 on nuts
Hi Pappy -
Hi ya Shirley... hope your weekend is going well
great
Thank you, appreciate you watching
no wonder why i don't drive a ford
🤣, Dwight it's 15 years old, and this is the only thing wrong with it, you may want to reconsider 🤣🤣
@@TriGogglin
I own one of these vehicles and they're pretty reliable. I'm not a ford fan either. As long as you can do an engine mount every couple years you're good to go.
There are three mounts
You are correct, but these 2 were the ones that were bad.. appreciate you watching
