Chasing Noisy 4x Class 20 on the Chopper Topper Railtour

- A tour that I've been excited about as soon as the listing was released.. a tour round the West Midlands with 4x Class 20's, with highlights of various freight loops and Hams Hall and Donnington Terminals. The locos involved include 20007/142 top and tailed (mostly) with 20189/205.
With the morning section of the tour completed into Hams Hall after pickups from Gloucester, I captured the train at the following locations, Madeley Jn, Donnington Jn, Wellington, Shifnal, Four Ashes x2, Stourbridge Jn and finally with all 4x Class 20s on the front Cheltenham Spa. I believe this tour might be a nod to a tour back in the day, but was certainly good fun to chase, with some great chopper noise! - Розваги

Morning Tom, I just had to watch you filming you did yesterday straight away after our short chat at SBJ, some good planning you did by car and you made the crossing at Ashchurch in time.
I noticed the four left Horton Road late, so I was thinking had they had problems there.

Thanks for watching Mike, yes I do enjoy planning the spots so it’s enjoyable to get round! It was 15L at Ashchurch so it was a breeze to get there. I think the run round took its time hence they were late off Horton Road. Yep great to see you Mike, and I’m 100% certain will cross paths again soon.

Good video! Not surprised you didn’t ride it because the price would’ve been ridiculously expensive! I used to do loads of railtours in the 1990s and early 2000s, but as the prices went higher and higher I soon cut down from an average of one a fortnight in 2000 and 2001 to just half a dozen in 2004. Haven’t done any since 2009.
Thanks Nigel, lucky I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go on the tours too. I plan on going on one in a few months. Everything’s expensive now, even the fuel to get round to see them!

i was saying the same about this the other day, just before covid the BLS ran a practically identical tour to this and it was 85 with a free curry meal thrown in (was tasty too) . i am not sure a justification of 40 is there and feel these companies now have a new baseline price . lets see if it changes when diesel comes down as that can be their only justification imo
