My girlfriend has it and I don’t. Aha undetectable which means that she has such little virus in her body it’s impossible for her to pass it on to me even with unprotected sex. A lot of people are still ignorant and don’t realise how far we’ve come. Most transmissions happen from people that don’t realise they’ve got it. We’ve been together 4 years and I still don’t have it and never will granted she continues to take her medications. Also even if she forgot to take it the virus takes days to weeks to build up. New medication means that she’ll only have to take it once every three months via injections.

My first video of the S.W.U. series was a You-tube "recommendation" about the Inbred Family - The Whitakers. Then got somewhat a little curious, I scrolled down and clicked on several videos (by choice). Later on that day, searched on the Host and the reasons behind the series. Now the topic is about H.I.V. and Aids. Back in the 80s, virtually unknown and now in the 21st century, still in the media. There is Corona along with all the drama and chaos going on; plus H.I.V. still around! Goes to show how important Life is and be more appreciative, because a lot of people are going through so much difficulties...

@@SoftWhiteUnderbelly It's ok, it is a common mistake. I still see HIV/AIDS written in books and on medical websites. I think that's why some get confused, which is understandable. It is very complicated doing patient teaching on it and I was very confused when I had to learn about it. Took me awhile to understand the difference. Not everyone who catches HIV develops AIDS. The CD4 cell count drops from 1500 to 500-200 mm^3 over 10-15 years after infection. Once the cell count drops below 500, opportunistic infections occur and that's what makes it dangerous. If antiviral agents are taken right away, it may prevent it from progressing to AIDS. Unfortunately, these medications can be very expensive. It's really sad. Prevention is so important.

Im sorry for what happened to You're family. Today HIV is not a death sentence. The medicine (if taken correctly) will stop HIV in its tracks making it undetectable in the blood and impossible to pass on to anyone else. If You have a partner with HIV and You are HIV negative, there is a medication called "PREP" that stops an uninfected person from catching HIV from their infected partner. People live full and productive lives these day's, even if they are HIV positive. The medications available really are life Saving. People with HIV can live a totally normal life. The stigma of HIV still kills more people than HIV does, as people are scared to go get tested, then if their HIV positive they feel like their going to die anyway so why go for treatment. We need to stop that stigma about HIV. HIV is Not a "death sentence " anymore

Unfortunately there will be people to think badly of you, but it’s just because they lack knowledge on the matter.
