- Prawn here with a look at the Lian Li Galahad 2 LCD Infinity All In One liquid cooler. This is the 360mm version of this AIO and here I'm showing you the setup and wiring logic for it while using it in the Lian Li Dynamic Evo XL along with a number of other things. I'm showing you the standard wiring logic as well the process for setting this up with push/pull fans if that's something you want to do.
This is a fantastic all-in-one cooler with an LCD screen that can show Gifs, read outs and much more. It also comes equipped with Lian Li SL-INF fans. Meaning you can add it to your system along with SL-INF 120 fans (or 140s) to make a really nice build.

Can you help me by reviewing my parts for a future build
By the way I’m subbed
Best video ever for anyone who plans to build a computer😀
I am not a newbie but these tutorial videos are always welcome because new stuff come along all the time
Thank you for the effort you put into this
Glad it helped!
For those of you watching this with LGA 1700 sockets it's the NON dotted screws you have to use. Just FYI!
Thats just what I was about to say
Dude, thanks for this video. And your others. Showing all these different scenarios, etc. I just ordered the long screws you linked. I have a similar build I’m attempting to do. Still waiting on more parts.
I was told when doing PC research that the way you have the AIO is actually better then on top but not by a lot but still better that most people just put it on top for aesthetic looks.
ua-cam.com/video/qQcyYHGtArs/v-deo.html
First I'd like to say how much your vids have helped me in my Lian Li EVO XL build. Everything was coming together until I got the Lian LI LCD cooler installed, I have had a not so user friendly experience with this and L-Connect3 working the way it is supposed to. After two very frustrating weeks of trying everything that I read from other people having the same problem and watching a zillion UA-cam vids I finally got everything working the way it was supposed to, ( the LCD Block was the main culprit, not working with the software).
Anyhow, I finally got almost everything working with the exception of one thing that I hope that you might be able to help me with. My setup is the LL Lcd cooler in a push pull configuration attached to top, three 120mm fans attached to side, three 140mm fans attached to bottom and two 120mm fans attached to back. I have the two series of fans from cooler attached to the controller that came with aio. I also have the three side fans and the 3 bottom fans connected to the same controller. This fills up the controller, so I used the other controller that came with the 3 pack to hook up the two back fans to it.
My problem is when I go into L-Connect3 to set up the fans in a rgb lighting configuration all of the rgb lighting effect that I chose works on all of the fans except the two back fans that are hooked up to the controller that came with the 3 pack. I'm sure it is some sort of connection that I haven't done right, but at this point I'm so frustrated with this cooler and software I can't even think about what to connect or disconnect!
If you have any suggestions or if you need more info from me about set up I would GREATLY appreciate it! I really enjoy your vids, it's the voice monotone and the Shrimp! We love our SHRUMMPS here in the Lowcountry!! Thanks again. Ciao
Assuming both controllers are connected via USB, can you see them separately in l connect? You should be able to cycle through them left to right. The lighting sync options in l connect should make all the fans automatically change even if they're on different controllers. The other thing to check is in the settings of l connect, look for a firmware update for the controller.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for a response, yes they are both connected via USB and I can see them separately. It lets me set a color combo, (I have orange and the light blue) for each fan set on runway, but the two fans in back stay dark blue and red on the strip of mirrors effect and the lighting around the two fans.
I have the latest firmware installed, 0.9 I think it is. The 2 fans in back have the wide connection inserted in the controller that came with the 3 pack and the USB connection is hooked up, also the 2 sata connections coming off the controller are hooked up.
Is there anything else that should be connected to or coming off of that controller? The only other thing is, since I had so many USB 2.0 connections to be made, (have strimmer too), I have the NZXT USB adapter for all of the USB connections from the controllers. Thanks again!
Finally. Been waiting on this and the Deepcool ls720 se digital to drop in the US.
Thanks a million for that video mate, spot on! Just received the exact same product in white but didn’t get far with installing it.
One thing that might turn out differently with an AM5 system is the standoff screws. My manual says LGA 1700 requires the screws without the dots. I’ll know for sure tomorrow 😎😅
I do appreciate your methods of teaching, I have learned a lot. I do wish you could show how to do this without "a dozen" fans and the controller. I have a matx case, one 360 aio, one in end and two on the bottom daisy-chained together. Now do I connect them to the board or the pump?
A life saver video !!! Well worth repeated viewing ! Great job !!! Just one more thing: please, show us how to manage two fan controllers through LianLi Connetct-3 software ! If it is possible, at all?
I would like to see this too. Curious.
I just spent 45 minutes tearing my room apart looking for that "missing cable". The relief when you said its not needed lmao
👍🏼
Thank you so much for putting these videos together - it really helped a ton! There's one part that I'm confused about though because I bought the Gallahad-II SL-INF version and 3 more SL-INF-120's for push/pull - however, the cables that I got with my 3 pack to connect into the controller are the 6 pin version and not the one that splits out like yours and what comes with the AIO cooler. Where did you get the cables? I can't find them anywhere.
Great description! Thank you,. Wish I would have found this before I spent about 45 mins trying to understand the wring, and the manual. That plug that is not needed for the Infinity version was baffling me. >
Great video with awesome detail, i am planning a build similar to this, definitely would like to know what the best setup is for the AIO with regards to temps (At the top on exhaust push/pull 6 fans or side on intake push/pull 6 fans for cool air for AIO?) Also orientation of AIO on the side, tubes up or down for which is best for safety.
ua-cam.com/video/qQcyYHGtArs/v-deo.html
Would love to see a video on how you connected multiple fan hubs!
ua-cam.com/video/RjUwRy6FOs8/v-deo.html
Great video. I am building a new PC with the GA II lcd sl-inf 360 and the sl-inf 120 gans for the case. What i need to know is which way the air flows through the fans. Last PC i built, my case fans all had an arrow on them to show air flow direction through the fan. On these fans, there is the mirror side and the side with the design.
The mirror side is the pull side (intake)
Very informative video. Thank you for the effort.
A quick question tho.
In the video the controller was plugged to the CPU fan head. Does it means all the fans that connect to the controller will run at the same speed? (Faster when CPU get hotter). I have multiple fans that will connect to the controller and i can't imagine how noisy it will get.
Thanks!
Just plug it into a normal fan head.. The L connect software lets u regulate seperate fan groups with speeds.. u can also set a curve seperately for the cpu fans.
Love your video!
I have the concern that do unifan that come with this CPU cooler is the same with the lianli infinity V2 fan? Cause i heard that V2 and V1 of SL120 are different and using different controller. Or the V2 are actually a reversed blade of unifan ?
Can you show the process on how to use these fans with the Galahad II infinity 360 LCD and the Strimer plus v2 etc. As this video is still confusing
The video help me build my setup.... tks...very detail!!!
On thing that I cant make work, is that setup of 360 aio lcd galaga 2 with new model device and setup with 3 x triple packs inf 120mm device... For some reason the wire ship it tougher with lcd aio wont conect half of the 2nd fan and dont light up the 3rd. in the radiator.
Do you have any ideas? suggestion?
this video has the cable at 0:25sec,
Do we have to use remoo fan control to make a fan curve based on Coolant Temp? I can't believe Lconnect 3 doesn't have coolant sensor as an option.
THANK YOU, so very much for showing the difference between the two L-Connect devices because I was very confused and still am a little bit…
So if I have two extra reverse SL INF fans and one SL INF exhaust fan (all going in the (Lian Li 216) I would just have to plug them up separately and not with the daisy chain?? Also, does the L-Connect software not work when the fans aren’t connect to a L-Connect Hub????
First time builder and I’m so confused. All this stuff arrives on Wednesday and I won’t have the extra L-Connect hub if I will need it
thanks you sir 🤩👍
Very educational vid. Since the cable to the controller is different then the sl infinity triple pack can we switch the cable on the Galahad to the same as the triple pack to run on 1 controller instead of having 2 controllers
I want to know this too
It’ll work fine if you use an extra cable from the 3 pack of infinity fans. The only difference is the controller. Since the controller doesn’t plug directly to the aio it doesn’t matter which controller you use.
Umm im sure someone has pointed out but the screws you used to tighten the AIO over the CPU are the wrong one
The manual shows that you need the non-dotted ones for the LGA 1700
boy oh boy did I get lucky! I bought 6 single reverse blades because I couldnt find a 3 pack of them anywhere and i ordered those 6 with this aio not knowing the 3 packs wouldnt be able to hook up to the singles. But if im understanding this correctly I can have 4 groups of single fans hooked up to the specific controller? It would be 3 groups of 3 fans top, side, and bottom, and a single fan in the back as its own group.
I have a question on the fan setup. First off thank you so much for your videos, you have helped me tremendously in my first build. Cheers to you mate. Anyway, i have am building my first computer and have gotten everything else working correctly.. except my AIO and 3 vertical fan stack. I'm using the Lian Li Galahad 2 LCD Infinity + all Lian Li Infinity Fans. I have all of the fans connected to the AIO controller with the 2 power cords (compared to the thinner flat single power cord alternative). My fan sets are:
1. 2 140 fans daisychained on bottom of case
2. 3 120 fans daisychained vertically
3. AIO 3 120 fans mounted on the radiator (default)
4. 1 120 fan solo on back of case
When all are plugged in, i get the AIO screen to turn on, but otherwise no power/RGB to the AIO fans. Also the 3 120 vertical fans are off and no RGB. But the 1 120 fan and the 2 140 fans turn on fine. First build so I'm not super experienced. The only thing i can think of from watching your videos is I'm potentially overloading the AIO controller? i need to use the 3 stack fan controller as well with most of the other system fans potentially with the single flat thin power cable feeding into it to lessen whats put into the AIO controller? Which that may fix my problem there, but i still havent been able to get the AIO fans on/RGB even when it's the only thing plugged into the AIO controller. Super confused on what my issue could be. Any further clarification needed please let me know. Thanks for all that you do!
On my manual it says that the screws for the cpu are the one with out dots are for lga 1700 also it didn’t come with the fan cable so I went out and bought one from a local pc shop
Same as mine homie
Same
Same
Hello! I have some questions about fan cabling. Did you use the controller that came with the 3-pack fans to connect the fans on the top and on the bottom? If yes, why not use the same controller that came with the AIO, since the 3 pack fans also come with a fan+rgb standard cable? If you were to connect the bottom and top fans along with the pump fans in the same AIO controller, would all of them be binded to the cpu fan speed curve? I am trying to figure out if I'll need to use another controller other than the one that comes the AIO, and what the drawbacks of using only that one would be. Thank you!
You could use the one that comes with the controller just fine. Though obviously only up to four groups. So you only have three spare when you've connected the fans from the rad. But that's fine
Quick question. What is the default behavior of the LCD screen, if not using the L-connect software? Are all settings only in the software, or are any actually stored in the pump head head?
I wonder if it fits a Lian Li Lancool II Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case
Hello, I’ll start to congratulate for your excellent and explicit videos, so many info you provide but I still have i question if you have time to to respond.
The cable which is coming out from the controller to a cpu fan header on the motherboard is a must or is optional ??
Thank you in advance
PS : “great voice on the video”
So the AIO Pump will run just by the PWM connector and the LCD/rgb stuff is controllable via L-connect by just plugging the USB cable to the motherboard?
are the tubes quick disconnect? cause it had me confused how the final product tubes were arrange in a way where you must need the tubes to be disconnected and reoriented to have that clean run.
Can the SL 120-V2 use the same controler? In the package for SL120V2 you also get the same PWM+ARGB cable
Ypur videos on lian li are awesome. But im in the situation where the connectors are differnt from the aio controler so i have 2 controllers but you mentioned you were going to cover that but i didnt see it or missed it. Im kind of stuck with differnt connectors and not sure what to do
Is it possible to connect an AL 120 V2 (with the wire from the single pack) on the controller from the Gallahad? The plugs fit in but I’m not sure if it works.
Nope, it is an SL controller, unfortunately.
So if I want the galahad 2 lcd and 4 additional uni fan sl-140s, and 3 additional sl-120s, I have to buy the sl-140s individually and a 3pk of 120s, and run both L-connect controllers in my case?
I got the non infinity version but i want to use my sl v2s. Im assuming i just dont use the large plug on the pump? Im just going to let l connect control the fans like it already was.
Prawn. You are an absolute legend.
Been getting wound up all day at the idea of lian li 3 pack and aio connections being different. Ill be using these.
So the way around using just 1 controller for lian li is use the aio one with a bunch of singles, not 3 packs?
I just ordered the non-Inf version of this AIO... is it worth adding the money for the inf version with the controller? is the SL-INF fans performance better? I dont care that much about the RGB effects but if fans performance is worth paying more I can switch to the INF version still...
Can I know what software version you are on? I can’t get the LCD to display or show up in my L connect?
please list links for amazon AUS as well if you can. seems strange to include Canada and uk but not aus considering we're all part of the same amazon supply line just helps to differentiate between stock
1:12 Are the fans actually set up as an exhaust? Just wanna make sure I heard it right because they look like intake setup to me…
So I'm planning on a new pc build, and I don't know if I'm just being stupid but I would like to get the Galahad 2 LCD for the top of my case, then a 3 pack of infinity uni fans for front intake, and then 1 uni fan in the back for exhaust, will that work? Or do I need to buy all the uni fans as 1 packs for it to work?
I really wish I could buy that liquid cooler right now! So pretty.
You can just don't make the mistake like I did buying the Asus Rog Ryujin iii.
@@Saint_Jerome I actually did end up getting a black version of this one. Was able to trade mine in just in time. Sorry that the ROG disappointed ya
Am I in trouble if I’m running 2 sets of 3 pack SL120 V2 and a solo SL120v2 to the new hub for the new fans?
Will I have issues? I feel like I will need 3 USB connections on my motherboard unless I can connect everything to one controller… Ideally I’d be able to do this with only two USB connections needed.
I have an old Lian-Li controller for the previous generation of SL120 fans. Will that work better than the new three pack hub?
Do I need the controller if I take the fans off and swap them out for something else?
Im trying to find PSU extensions for my build but my 3080ti needs 3 8 pins, and it seems like most cable mods only comes with 2, do u have any alternative recommendations for that ? or do i have to buy 2 packs
Could you use the v2 controller to control the pump
Will the strix with strimmers fit in there
my manual saying that using the wrong screws for the pumphead. LGA1700 is the screws without dots.
I can connect ARGB, fans directly to the motherboard?
Can you use the old l-connect hub for the aio radiator fans, or is it incompatible?
Question, if i use the AIO controller, can i plug there also other case fans? and if from the controller i plug directly on the mobo do i still need to use the Usb connector?
24:15 can you show how the other fans are controlled by same controller because i cant seem to figure it out
If I have the galahad 2 lcd and two triple packs can I make it all work or do I need single packs?
Is the Fan PWN control based on Water or CPU Temperature?
So if I’m planning on using the L connect software to control all the fans and rgb, I don’t need that additional split rgb/pwm fan cable in the controller right? Just the usb? I also plan on having 4 groups of fans on this one controller, will all the fans be controlled with the l connect software without the need to plug into a fan header ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to figure this out for like a week now
Hey prawn...you make really nice videos....can you suggest an alternative for Corsair 680x?
O11 dynamic xl will do? And what's the latest lian li cpu cooler
Corsair has just released the 6500 which is meant to be the new 680x. I personally like the Evo XL and the Galahad 2 LCD
@@TheProvokedPrawn thanks for the reply sir. Your videos are so high quality and they educate on almost all topics i wanna learn about these rgb fan control boxes. Keep rocking!!!
Would it be possible to use the cables that come with the 3 pack (7-pin) on the fans of the aio? Wouldn't that eliminate the need of two controllers?
That it will.
Hey I can’t find the part where you solve the problem of having the triple pack of fans work with the aio? Is there a time stamp?
Can i use the control for the infinity fans instead of the galahad lcd controller. The connectors for infinity are thinner and are not split.
Did you ever figure this out?
I have the same AIO. My question is. Is that aio's controller enought for.the 7 reverse blade i bought? They dont have reverse.infinity pack in here. Please answer. ❤❤❤❤
I'm actually planning on heading to my local MicroCenter and picking up the remaining parts for my new build, and I *was* looking at the Lian Li Galahad II 360 for $189....and now I see this one. Worth the upgrade for $40 next week?
Jc is it $40 more there? 😂
I really wanted it, but it's double the price of the galahad 2 360 inf I got. $275 aud vs $505 aud.
If it was 20% it would've been a no brainer ☠️
uh, helpful on some of this especially hooking up my 3 seperate fan pack cables with the AIO hub. thanks for that. constructive critique, i'd probably plan that wiring out a little better prior to shooting the video. other than that, good work!
no
Wait so the extra fan cable that comes with the the single to connect a trio fan to the same controller as the cooler. Do I need to buy another cable to add a 2nd trio fan?
Man!
You mfde my day
I aim to please
But if you sync fan power to motherboard solely through that bottom cable on the controller, you can't control speeds separately for each fan group-only altogether, right? The motherboard software won't be able to distinguish between the ports AFAIK, and treats them as a single fan group.
So, I'm thinking that instead, I can give each fan group power directly from the motherboard CHA headers, and only plug in the RGB cables to the controller.
This way, I can get full control over the speed of each fan group through FanXpert, and also full control of RGB through L-connect.
Instructions that came with my Galahad II LCD S-INF 360 show the screws to mount the pump head for 1700 to be the screws that had no markings on top,
The ones WITH the four dots are supposed to be for LGA115x, 1200 and AM4. They show the LGA 1700 and AM5 should use the four screw that had no markings. I thought you may want to know.
wait so does the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity 360 come with a fan controller ?
Is there any way to switch the BLACK Cable of the single Fan on the backside to a White Color? I want to re-create this system but this cable color is ruining the whole build for me...
Can 3 140mm fans fits on the bottom of the nzxt h9 elite
Prawn, question, what position in the EVO XL do you recommend installing the Motherboard when using this AIO with 420mm fans along the bottom and side panel of the case as well as 2 EA 120mm SL Uni's back? Should I go for the middle position (I see there are 3 choices?)? I'm assuming the cables will be long enough to route them behind the mobo and into the USB 2.0 header.
Hi,
"after the screws with the dots" you use a LGA1700 then it should be exactly the other screws according to the instructions I am a bit confused
I'm a human that makes mistakes apparently
J’ai une question je peux connecter mon watercooling galahad 360 sur le splitter des ventilos ?
Hey you can put 2 fan on the rear
If you mean in the case, yes ua-cam.com/video/E-t8mT-iW_A/v-deo.html
So hypothetically.. if I got this AIO.. 6 single packs of reverse fans.. and 1 single regular fan.. I could technically group them all onto the one controller that comes with the radiator right? 3 groups of 3 which includes top side and bottom.. and the the last port for the single rear exhaust fan. Is that right? Would be a total of ten fans but 9 of them grouped in 3 and 1 solo
Yes I think so
@@TheProvokedPrawn sweet!
If I want to use TL fans I would just be connecting the pump header and USB for the screen on the cooler and then rolling with the TL fan installation as nornal right ? One controller that comes with the LCD 3 pack and then single fans daisy chained, correct ? This is the same AIO that comes with the INF or Regular fans right ? So since I'm planning on swapping out fans no sense in spending the extra for the INF fans.
For the first part of your question the answer is yes. I didn't understand the second question.
You doing a review video for this?
Next week hopefully
Pc part picker flags a disclaimer on the clearance of this pump with the ram on the z790a Maximus 1700 motherboard, why?
Can you make it display cpu temp?
how to find your rgb cables?
If I purchased the regular Galahad 2 lcd but wanted to use inf I had before can I install those and have no issues with the normal controller or did I need to buy the AIO with the inf fans with the controller that has usb c?
You should be fine
Hey, love your videos!
I got a quick question though: Just to clarify, you are using 2 separate controllers right? The one that comes with the AIO (which is only connected to the AIO?) as well as a controller which came with a pack of 3 fans (which have all other system-cooling fans connected to it?).
I'm not very knowledgeable so I thought I'd ask just to make sure, as I'm planning on building my first PC soon and intend on having a very similar fan setup, just in a different case.
Thanks, and sorry if its an obvious question!
Yes
Thank you@@TheProvokedPrawn
The thing is a friend of mine is making a build and just kinda finished it, his pc works. But the fans on his AIO cooling are not working, does anyone know what might be a common issue here bcs all the cables are corretly installed
my LCD keeps disconnecting and connecting again and it does the sound like if you were pulling out an flash usb, every cable is clicked and secured in place but i wonder if i should also connect the cable on that port next to the usb type c
are you sure the LCD's USB-C cable is fully plugged in? it seems very easy to not fully seat (I made that mistake). Also check for firmware updates as Lian Li has released several since.
Aio include controller?
I'm confused at the step 4:48. I don't have the individual fan controller you have the tutorial with.
My separate triple fan has the connection as shown before but how do you connect the AIO separate two pins to the standard controller that has four 7-pin inputs and two rgb connections?? I connected the RGB but the fan power has the ground on the opposite end of the power connections as the AIO Pump power does so I can't connect it to the normal CPU fan slots.
Videos on screen 60 fps?
Does this pump HAVE to connect to the included controller, or could it be used with the infinity 3-pack controller for example? Trying to decide how much of a pain it will be to replace my Galahad II 240 with this one when it releases. Cheers!
If you already have Infinity fans on the old Galahad like I do, then no, you should be able to just skip the new controller entirely as all that controls is the included fans and not the pump.
Personally, I'm just going to buy the non INF version of the new LCD to save a bit of money and just use my existing Infinity fans.
The only thing that connects differently compared to the old setup should be the new USB C to USB 2.0 motherboard header instead of the old 3 pin RGD cable that plugged into the fan controller. They both seem to have the same hardwired pump cable, so no change there.
Not 100% if I’m correct on this but it seems logical.
I just bought the Galahad Trinity 2 but already had 6 fans installed. All I did was switched the aio cord for the rgb control to one the cards that came with my other fans so it has the flat connector. All research I've done states this will work as well. I won't know until Friday the 20th when I get my mobo to power everything up
As far as I know, you should just be able to stick to your current controller. The AIO one is really just for the fans anyway, there's no connection to the pump, so it's fine. :)
just don't forget that you might want to connect the fan connector to CPU Fan or the BIOS will complain.
Anyone know if I can daisy chain two 3pks and a single infinity fan into the AIO cooler? Or is there not enough ports on the AIO controller?
So I have to buy a bunch of single fans and not the triple pack for it to work with the aio control box?
You can use the triple pack controller instead if you like
Aio is plugged in correct fan is plugged int fan header correct. Everything works. Bios doesn’t recognize cpu fan. What is the fix
@TheProvokedPrawn I was looking at getting this but also want need reverse fans for the which only come in single packs so wouldn't have the SL-Infinity hub that comes in the standard 3 pack. Been looking everywhere and can't seem the find out how many of those ARGB Header adapters come with this AIO to plug into the controller that comes with the AIO. How many do you get? Because I would need to use all 4 groups so would need 3 of them.
four
@@TheProvokedPrawn thank you can now actually order my parts haha without the worry
Question what powers the pump to spin I was also using a sata power but this video says its not needed
The connection to the motherboard AIO pump or CPU header
I don't expect answer, but what temps you got with push pull compared to normal push in this setup?
I'm afraid I don't recall the numbers. I did share the follow up video with you via Discord though
How is the performance of it? Like im thinking about changing my aio and im confused between this and the corsair icuelink H150i
I'm doing a review soon but the experience has been good so far
what adapter do i need to connect Lian Li UNI FAN SL-INF 120 Reverse Blade to this controller? specifically the rgb pins.
since Lian Li UNI FAN SL-INF 120 ARGB Reverse Blade comes with a 5v rgb cable
So my manual for MB said the CPU fan was on the right side and pump left however on the MB it’s pump left and cpu right
Which one is correct haha
