Funny thing about this video, is i mentioned online a particularly complex stop-motion shot I did for it (the matrix pan of the board) and people were like "Ooooo, you are trying stop motion" and i had to scratch my head. 3 minute board games is all stop motion, its all still photography that i transition and animate. I just thought i'd bring that up as its one of the reasons these videos take so long to make. There's normally about 100 photos or so per video. Each time a piece moves that's a type of stop motion. Sure, its not Wallace and grommit levels, but that's how it all works. Just thought i'd clarify that. The reason the videos are so short, and so densely packed is that I use techniques like stop motion to remove wasted/dead time. With stills I can precisely control each transition and show the info i need just long enough. You couldn't do this with video. And that's why each one takes 8-12 hours of work to make. So.... um support me on patreon and stuff, because I spend the time so you don't have to spend yours.
That was a pretty decent sales pitch! Really enjoy the way you make these videos, super-effective at getting across exactly what you intend to convey. Thank you for taking the time to make theses, the explanations are clear and concise. Also, have you played Invisible Inc. (video game)? It's very similarly themed and is a turn-based spy romp.
As I was watching this I was thinking about my another amazing lightweight hidden movement game with a great cartoony style, Fugitive. Check the credits for this and, wouldn't you know it, it's Tim Fowers again. The man really knows how to make hidden movement work.
Also - Because this song has been stuck in my head for the whole time i've played and been reviewing the game. Here's the other sabotage: ua-cam.com/video/z5rRZdiu1UE/v-deo.html
When will we see more of VomKrieg's Horus Heresy reviews? I have been waiting years for more of the best reviews of the series, especially now when it is almost finished.
@@3MBG Those Horus Heresy reviews are the funniest and most informative ones online. They have been a huge inspiration to several projects and I really do hope to see more someday. There are so many parts of the series I really want to see get their due. The whole ‘Imperium Secundus Namek’ period where the narrative momentum of the series goes out the window for 10 or so books, some of the stupid stuff that rivals and even exceeds Battle for the Abyss in sheer WTF, and the sad, sad way the series ends with a whimper, not a bang (As the Siege of Terra books are technically a separate series in their own right, not Horus Heresy books). It may be too much to ask, but I really do want to see more of those reviews. They were such a bright spot as a former fan who got disillusioned after GW dragged the series through the mud in order to make a few extra bucks.
I think i had the advantage of loving the 40k world, but not having any illusions that the Horus Heresy is great literature. Some of it is very fine work, other parts, really quite poor. But 40k is a weird fandom where a lot of people will attack good stuff because GW IS THE WORST, or make apologies for poor stuff because GW IS THE BESTEST. Its a weird place ;) Not sure ill get back to it anytime soon due to this project of course, which eats a lot of my spare time.

Yes! Invisible inc is good fun. Part shadowrun, part sabotage. TASERS FOR EVERYONE!
Exactly!
Love the voices! Good one

Great review Jarrod! I love hidden movement games and mostly play at a 2-player count so this might be right up my alley. Seems super-fun. Thx!
The Beasties nod is a nice touch!
The song was literally stuck in my head the whole time.
@@3MBG well, I know you planned it...

ua-cam.com/video/AOHcrRV_P-8/v-deo.html Here is another classic!
Sounds fun! And nice touch with voices :-)
AWESOME INTRO!!!!!!
I like the way the box is incorporated as a player screen.
Me too. Its also very nice to look at
Really fun video!!
I really like this game and need to play it more. Spies vs Mercenaries Splinter Cell vibe from it. Only thing I don't like is how big the damn box is.
Im getting vibes of the Evil Genius game... I like it 😃

Oh damn, haven't done/read one of those in a while. I was thinking about doing a 40k video when the channel gets to 40,000 subs
