Thank you for reviewing the ink, as well as for the kind words!
"you tilt it upside down, WHEN IT'S CAPPED SECURELY" 😁
It’s interesting to see that now in 2024, March, a 60ml bottle of this ink is now 9.95€ before shipping and 40€ with, from the Netherlands to the U.S.
I’ve waited from S. Brown’s first small batch announcement many years ago until just last week to finally get my hands on a bottle. Each time it sold out so fast it made my head spin. So needless to say I was joyful it was finally available.
I put it in my Pilot Elite today with a fine nib only to realize that it wasn’t a good choice of nib for this ink. I had a stupid attack. Lol. It looks orange and light. I’ll have to choose a M or B nib that has good flow to finally see the beautiful dark amber/ sepia that I’ve been longing for.
Great review. I can’t wait to swap this luscious leather looking ink. Cheers
I also own a 60 ml bottle, leading me to wonder whether sizes may vary from batch to batch. In my hand, with a pen collection mostly fitted with fine nibs, the ink is a nice brown, a serviceable and somewhat boring color. But I continually marvel at what Penultimate Dave, using pens with broad nibs, can draw from the same ink, in his Currently Inked series. For me, it is a useful tool, for Dave, it's apart of an artist's palette.
Only made in the 60ml bottles now. They no longer use the Dutch Masters ones 👍🏻
Another great ink review! I bought a 60ml bottle from Anderson Pens for almost $40, so it is expensive, but I got it as much for the color as the connection to Stephen. So how about a Mick ink? What color would it be?
I’ve thought about that a lot actually and I have 2 options… well, three I suppose. I would love to collaborate with Robert Oster on a dark teal blue. A touch lighter than his ‘Great Southern Ocean’ or I would go to someone like KWZ about a blue black or a purple. Both well saturated and wet. The blue black in that nice dark end, and purple being a rich royal purple
@@theoffstageme The purple you chose from Kiwi Inks was great. I'm thinking of ordering that same color.
That’s a really lovely ink. I enjoy it a lot
I have a different experience with my bottle of it. I don’t find it wet at all. It writes too light for me. Incredible shading of every line, almost but that doesn’t really excite me either, it just messes with my eyes. I wanted to love it and I don’t. I wanted to write with it all the time…….I don’t. I just think I’d have liked his surname to have been ‘Blue’. 😉
Where did you find the Dutch Master sized bottle? I have only seen it in 60ml and had to buy 2 bottles! I love this ink and it’s accurately put that it’s a leather brown. Thanks for the review.
I got this a while back… it may only be available in the smaller bottle now
No longer made in the Dutch Master sized bottles, so only 60ml now 👍🏻
Can't watch this just yet, but had to say I love the title of this video!
1. Interesting. In other reviews, this ink has looked too orange for my taste, but it is pretty in your review, esp. on the card.
2. Personally I find the bottle a bit much. Perhaps because space is at a premium on my desk.
i finally got this a couple months ago! love it. also have it currently inked in my Esterbrook Estie Honeycomb, (I have Gourmet pens Pink too but not currently inked) 🙂
For a second, I thought you were going to say, "I'll talk to you later. Bye bye."
Have you tried Krishna Inks from India? If you have, would you like to share your thoughts on that brand?
I’ve tried 5-6 of them and theres a couple of love ‘Pencil’ is just amazing. i should definitely cover a couple here!
@@theoffstageme I love 'Pencil' too. There're some other shades which are good too.
