Here are the Direct links to Birmingham Pen Co Southside Park Fern Moss, an ink that I think is a great complement: ua-cam.com/video/feVYDDwjzOI/v-deo.html

This doesn’t mean I think the best complement is itself a great ink, just that it is a nice complement color.

It is garbage in a bottle, really. ;-)
Thank you for your review and kind words, I'm glad you like the ink

      Thank you too!
But, I haven't heard any complaints from people that have used your ink... so well done.

At last, an ink review that I can appreciate you doing because it is such a popular ink among fountain pen users!
    -
I have not tried this ink before personally and I don’t tend to care for brown inks. But this one has a bit of a red undertone which I tend to like.
    -
Everyone’s got their own preference which I understand, but I will soon start to love a brown ink after trying a sample. The ink is pricey for what I’m willing to pay, but I think I found a perfect brown!

I’m telling Dr Stephen Brown about you doing this ink review because he will be delighted to know your opinions regarding the self-named Akkerman ink.

The ink is a bit pricy... but all the Akkerman inks are. However they come in a huge and beautiful bottle.

For some strange reason i thought you've already covered this ink ( i was wrong)
I love brown inks and with so much hype about this ink i had to get it and i did not regret getting a bottle of this.

Hmmm... Looks like an ink that hasn't been made in years. I see similarities to 1940s Parker Quink washable brown. And the Parker Quink version is probably my favorite brown. Might need to get at least a sample of this...
There's certainly worse. The vintage Sheaffer's Skrip brown is pretty bad. I've seen that described (and I completely agree!) that the vintage Skrip looks positively fecal. Even the old big players got it wrong, once in awhile. 😁 Modern? No clue. Don't have any for comparison.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this ink! Need to try some of it, now!

I have no experience with the Parker Quink washable brown, so I cannot speak intelligently on it. But if this looks like your favorite brown then it is worth getting a sample to check it out.

    You naughty man! 😂
This is one of two Akkerman inks I have bought. They are some $40.00 here and have to be bought from Holland and the bottle novelty wears off quite quickly given it's kept in a drawer.
It is a superb ink. I tried quite a few brown inks and none quite ticked all of the boxes like this one.
I wrote alternate lines using this and Diamine Ochre, which is very close, but that feels flat compared to this.
However, when using it for a day it started feeling a little dull. I had 30ml of Diamine Sunburst and mixed a little into a sample of it. A very small amount lifts it a little and makes it pop, just a little, on the page. I decided to call it 'Happy Brown'. I don't know why.
Thanks for this great review - Have I defaced a great ink? 😁

No you haven't defaced a great ink... if... you are happy with what you now have. You have an even better ink for you. So enjoy the hell out of it!

The paler golden shading I get now help me to deal with the guilt. 😁

Been using different inks at work and I think this color might shake things up a little. Will definitely be using a medium or broad nib.

Is there a reason for this? Are they not that telling of how it behaves or where they just too much work? Because I've loved them and they have helped me A LOTGreat work overall with or without, but I do miss them :) @@AnInkGuy
