Husqvarna Rapid Replace head fits the old 80v weed eater straight out of the package and it’s a very good head. Thanks for the video

I actually had bought the Shakespeare head (did not want to wait two weeks for the Amazon Weed Warrior, only 3 bucks more for this) then I found out the threads were left hand. Bought a 10mm 1.25 nut and was about to do as you did. Thought twice about it because the string is wound left hand also. Factory head is right hand. Did not think it would pay out. Then I saw your video and went ahead. Seems to work fine. I guess it's more centrifugal force than drag on the bottom button that makes these things work. I'll see if it works when the string is real short before bump. If it doesn't, I'll just twist it out and keep the string long enough. Thank you for the video.

Thank you! Your video saved me a lot of frustration. I was baffled when none of the bolts that came in the kit would fit on the shaft.

This works great. I followed this but used the Weed Warrior Autowinder II Universal replacement head from Amazon, which was significantly cheaper than most others when I was looking. It worked exactly the same as shown here as far as installation. I bought two of the hex nuts from the hardware store just in case. I ended up stacking them both together, not sure if it matters but since I had it, why not. Using the impact driver made removal of the old head super easy.

Same problem as everybody else, except what I can't figure out what the exact BIT you used in your IMPACT DRIVER. Can you tell me the EXACT NAME for the BIT? Thanks.

You ever figure out anything on the bit used?
About to attempt this in a few minutes, I’ll update you if I figure anything out.

What about the motor being exposed from the gap, anyone worried about debris getting in there with the change out? I wanted to try a ugly head, but feel like the motor will get too much debris in there

Stop posting videos of 2 different devices and stay with the same brand... Kobalt is not the identical device to a Shakespeare. If you want to experiment, do not POST about how to do it.
