I want a pokemon game where ever gym have a different battle style like one gym they do rotation battles where another gym they have sky battles. It would make every gym unique.
In BW2's Opelucid Gym, two of the gym trainers give you a choice between battling one of them in a Triple Battle, and the other in a Rotation Battle! But I do agree that something like a gym exclusively focusing on Double Battles or the like could be cool - like Tate and Liza's gym in Hoenn
Rival schools, when I first heard about the different schools in scarlet and violet I thought we would have content about the 2 competing schools maybe even having the evil team be from the other school
Yeah, the school felt way too unimportant...yet you can't even change out of your uniform (pre DLC)... I would've loved to customize my uniform at least a little.
One thing I thought of as soon as school was mentioned, was having old characters come in as teachers. Have Red come into the school as a guest lecturer to talk about battling, have Bianca give a guest lecture about trading evolutions as a callback to the anime, get a grown up Silver to teach the kids about the friendship and affection mechanics. It would be a brilliant way to bring back old faces - older fans would absolutely eat it up, and it would introduce new fans to characters from the old games, which would work out brilliantly for the ports that *still haven't happened yet Gamefreak COME ON* 💀
There was also a PERFECT opportunity to have Cheren return. Cheren is a teacher in Unova, Blueberry Academy is a school in Unova, it would’ve made perfect sense for him to show up as a guest. It certainly would’ve made more sense than literally anyone from Paldea showing up.
I had an idea on what could have replaced the gym challenge in SV (I came up with this before the second trailer I think) Instead of just there just being Naranja/Uva Academy in Paldea, there would instead be eight. Each town that had a gym would now have a academy (so there'd be an academy in Levincia, an academy in Medali, etc; there'd be a academy in Zapapico or Porto Marinada instead of Glaeseado), though you'd still be enrolled at Naranja/Uva depending on your version. The way the gym challenge would now work in Paldea would every year, a competition would be held to determine the strongest academy battle wise. For this one student from each academy would be chosen to represent their school in the gym challenge. To determine this, there would be a tournament held at each school, and the winner would go on to challenge the academies. To obtain badges (or whatever equivalent), the challengers would have to defeat each school's student council president, who would effectively be the gym leaders of the game (I'd say that instead of being type specialists they could use a specific strategy). Additionally, you'd also be able to meet the other seven gym challengers at different points, even battling them. However, there would be only a month allotted to obtain all 8 gym badges (this would only be for in-game lore and wouldn't impact gameplay). Each school would be able to be challenged in any order (though their levels and teams would scale based on how many badges you have, unlike the gym leaders in regular SV), except the school that a challenger attends, which would be required to be challenged last. Then, once the month passes (or once the player gets their 8th badge or maybe a little afterward story-wise), all challengers that were able to defeat all eight gym badges would receive a grade for doing so, being ranked on their battle skills. The challenger that receives the highest grade would be allowed to challenge the Elite Four and Top Champion, which would basically be the school board + superintendent. Here are some ideas for school names (I'm using Google Translate to translate these fruits and veggies into Spanish, so please bear with me. I will include the English translation too Aceituna/Olive Academy: Cortondo Aguacate/Avocado Academy: Artazon Limón/Lemon Academy: Levincia Ciruela/Plum Academy: Cascarrafa Manzana/Apple Academy: Medali Saúco/Elderberry Academy: Montenevera Melocotón/Peach Academy: Alfornada Patata/Potato Academy: Zapapico
I would've liked to see more landmarks dotting Paldea, Kitakami, and the Blueberry Academy to make exploring in Scarlet and Violet more interesting. Imagine exploring Paldea and coming across an ancient stadium, a castle, or a mineshaft. Wouldn't that be awesome?
Truth. Instead we got copy and paste ruin templates that only acted as a place for gimmighoul and a small sub-biome. No history to discover, no purpose for even having an ancient settlement in that spot… just filling space.
@@clothieredward basically 2-D esque of exploring. The 2-D era had us on edge exploring different areas and with way less technological advances. Scarlett and Violet had potential to throw us into that style of exploring finding rare items or rare Pokemon. Instead we only got open world for the sake of open world but no riddles or clues like back then
I am hoping they unlock all the Mightiest Mark Pokémon, Walking Wake, and Iron Leaves raids. Once a day, a new one will spawn in. That way people who jump in on the games late will still be able to get them.
I think Walking Wake, Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt, Iron Leaves, Iron Boulder, and Iron Crown should’ve all just been normal spawns (that can be shiny hunted) in the Area Zero Underdepths. Game Freak doesn’t count them as legendaries, so I don’t see why not.
I do also think Sun and Moon were my overall favorite games. And I think it makes sense. Game Freak started to get more experimental with the Pokémon formula, but they still were working on handhelds instead of the much bigger games on the Switch.
Given the academic/school theme, I would have made the teachers the "Gym Leaders" in a sense. But instead of specializing in types, they would specialize in strategies based on the school subjects that they teach. For example, Dendra could specialize in offensive attacks, or Tyme could specialize in entry hazards. Instead of gym battles, they would be known as "battle exams," and you would earn a high mark for completing each exam successfully. Collecting all eight would qualify you for the school tournament (which actually does appear in the postgame) for a chance to take on Nemona, who would be the current reigning champion. You would fight each teacher in their hometown and would have to complete a series of assignments based on their subjects in order to face them. AND you would have to face them using the strategies that they taught you in class. Each teacher would also use varied teams to keep you on your toes. This would in many ways involve the school in the main adventure more heavily. Think Earl's Pokemon Academy from Statium 2, but more emphasized. The school would even prove useful by teaching you about actual competitive battling and having you utilize the things you learned in your exam battles.
Should’ve had the final battle against the Koraidon/Miraidon be a Tera raid 4v1 imo. Like, we have the Player, Nemona, Penny and Arven. A 4v1 battle would’ve been perfect. Just change that part of the story that locks the pokeballs
@@Slimeonian I actually liked the idea of all pokeballs being locked. It gave your legendary a chance to redeem itself for the death of the professor and its loss. It also added some crazy stakes to the story.
Homework quests? That's how we find the Treasures of Ruin! But yeah more of them would have been neat. What i wanted to see, what i was SURE we would see in the DLC, was specific characters appearing at Blueberry. It would be a FANTASTIC way to give us the old staff who had betrayed Team Star and permitted bullying to go on for so long, including the deputy who destroyed the evidence defending them. Also...the Other Professor, the one who walked out when Arven was a baby. Even if they and the professor were never in love, it was clear the professor valued them as a researcher and missed them in their absense (the translations vary on how much but for there to be some regret at their leaving is a constant). I want to see them talk to Arven, who probably wouldn't know who they are.
Another one for me was the battle themes in the academyace tournament, arven penny and nemona all had amazing themes that got shelfed in that tournament. I eouldve loved for it to get expanded on after that first run of it. All the old themes return and seeing the teachers get new ones. I also think ut wouldve been cool if they had students from the school participating as well with randomly generated teams scaled to your level. Imagagine loading in to grind out a tournament and youngster joey is there with a fear strat and sandstorm team or battleing kids with just cool teams, put the Team star bosses in there while theyre at it. That tournament could've been so much more than just a cash grind
If you play through the entirety of the game classes included the gym battles are exams, so your first point is pretty much non existent, 2:03 that is a gimmick not a battle type for a mainline game. 4:08 so your answer to the problem is re-skinned adventures that weren’t even perceived well to begin with because after you get one of these shiny legendary, you cannot catch it again
The one opportunity that I wish Scarlet/Violet did have is to have Paldea Kitakami or blueberry Academy Battle tower work focuses on when given the opportunity as it basically will be similar to my sword, shields Galar battle tower in that region only said dynamax you’re actually using Terastallization, as you can kind incorporate that, as even have a leaderboard on the amount of victories, which can be shared by other players records.
One thing I think they missed was the Battle Tower From being a place in every game (although with diferent styles sometimes, like the Battle Subway) to not being there Its disapointing
I think ur idea on doing something different besides gyms is spot on for Paldea. Ur idea for the battle Exams would have fit much better with the school motifs they had going on and this would have been perfect opportunity to bring back the battle cd challenges from colosseum and xd gale of darkness. They could have implemented those battle challenges as exams or test where u had to try to figure out how to win in a certain way or employ a certain strategy. Which would have been fun and really cool.
This is a idea I had so in old pokemon they had to take out gambling and later replaced it with games but they're just center pieces you can't actually play them but what if they makes games for them an use pixel art are they don't have to do much maybe a racing game or Barry picking game and they can be just one or two of them.
Genuinely speaking i haven't felt like playing SV after my first playthrough, while i enjoyed "and i use that word loosely" my time with it at first, after that it felt like there was nothing else interesting to do after the Area Zero post-game. I tried to do a second playthrough but ended up leaving it midway through it and haven't touched it since then, surprisingly i thought to myself if i still loved playing these games and it seems like that only lasted one full playthrough of Pokémon Violet and that was it.
For one thing I think better world building would be much appreciated. Sometimes are way too small and have nothing going on. They are dead. Some of them also don’t quite fit into the scenery, like the town with the bug gym. Voice acting would’ve been nice because the game is too quiet. Actually being able to go inside of houses again because just being limited to outside doesn’t feel right. I need to bring back special animations for Pokémon that have them like decidueye. And overall the game just needs to run better.
I think if they add random titan pokemon it would have a little more in stat it just a little stronger like if it was pikachu it would be more faster i think that would give a little more reward that you caught the pokemon 😊
Sorry but main series Pokemon games outside of possibly the Legends games without normal gyms is blasphemy, gen 7 are the worst main series games because of it.
I don’t personally feel that way, it’s a fun and creative way to change it up a bit, and lore wise it’s solid seeing as the first league is still being set up
Megas would have been cool and they could have explored the dark lore behind it as a classroom event. However, I don't think dynamax would be possible. There is no galar particles in Paldea or wishing stones to make power spots for dynamaxing. Tho u could introduce a teacher similar to like Birair who wanted to expand the terra gimmick, this teacher could expand the dynamaxing gimmick and get halar particles brought to paldea as an alternative energy source and create a power spot and then give a class on dynamaxing....that could work storyline wise 🤔
What I expected to finally happen and really want: to have Pokémon say their names. I want to see an Abra go “Aaaabraaa!” Before teleporting away instead of going “Beep boop boop”
Didn't even bother buying these games cus they looked so atrocious, and I didn't even play Sword and Shield at all after beating the games which Ive never done in a Pokemon game, so Im probably done with any new games. Thank god the older games exist.
