    Thank you for not using a calculator. It's been years since I've done long division with decimals and I totally forgot about moving the decimal in the divisors. I also appreciated that you spoke slowly . For those of us who struggle with math it's a great help when it's taught at a slower pace. This was very thorough. Thank you. 🙂

      Ohh😢 that's so sad. I wish I could help you. Our grades might be different but I still want to help. But don't give up👍 revise it slowly and ask other people to help you with the hard ones. You can do it. I believe in you💟👍

      Look slow down the video pause if needed to think stop saying you can't do it everyone has the potential to do it unless they have issues and that's not their fault but u are not born smart you are built to become smart if you actually use your head and clear it and then take the information and understand it

    If a cylindrical tin has a radius of 7cm . What is the shortest length of the string that can be wound once round the tin

    Steps of my problem:
    - 250 ft^3 is the volume
    - Diameter is 8 ft
    - Radius is 4 ft
    I took the formula for volume (V=πR^2) and replaced the V with my given volume, 250 ft. Then I plugged in Pi and the radius, 250=(3.14)x(4)^2h. Then I simplified it to get 250=(3.14)x(16)h and then simplified it once more to get 250=50.24h. I then i divided the volume (250) by 50.24 as well as 50.24h by 50.24, to be left with the variable of h (height). I got the final answer of 4.9761146497 and I simplified that to 4.97 ft. for height. If you wanna be _really_ specific, you can also round up to 5.

    is it possible to find the height with only the volume?

    • @mrmaisonet
      @mrmaisonet  3 роки тому

      No, you would need the radius length as well, unless there is a 2nd cylinder in a word problem that you had to set up a system of equations or something like that. But in general, with any equation, you have to know the value of all variables except for one you are solving for.

    it should not take someone that is teaching this subject 6 minuets to solve this, this is why we need calculators, not because we are lazy, but only because it takes 6 minuets if you don't use one
