Shen's apology: Dearest Bulbasaur, I humbly apologize for the misguided and completely baseless claims that you are "bad." After minutes of reflection I've come to realize that you are an amazing Pokemon and I'm truly sorry for my attitude for the last 7 years. I appreciate all the times that you've been there for me even though I wasn't there for you. Thank you Bulbasaur. -Shen
Easily my favorite run as of posting this. I literally stopped watching the gameplay and instead was fascinated on the money total. The way the fans donated over 50 grand because someone insulted a Pokemon and wanted a apology. And they hit 900 grand before he even finished his run. Amazing! Also all 4 commentators had great chemistry and were just all fun!
I said it once, I'll say it again: Keiz and Shen on the same screen is pure memetime. Watching that Bulbasaur Meme unfold live & the aftermath of it by Twitchchat mindlessly spamming the Apology together with the goated new Bulbashen Emote was the most Fun thing to watch in a while.
The run, the host, the general vibe of the chat: everything was awesome (live). I had so much fun watching (and rewatching) this run. We need more 3 ways solo randomizer at SGDQ!
Keiz doesn't like "over-estimate" jokes anymore, and it was genuinely nice to see him do so well. I know he's been having a hard time lately, very well deserved.
Full credit to skybilz for being a great host! Played off of the runners in a great way, good sense of humour and good attempts with the pokémon cries!
I was wondering how many donations this run got. Between Keiz's pokemon cries, Shenanasaur turning full heel, and $110K raised during the run, this might be an all-time great GDQ run.
Keizaron is one my favorites since I started watching he and Jhobz teach each other how to speedrun the others' game on The first step, glad to see him here!
dont know if youve seen it but i really recommend keiz's crystal run from a year or 2 ago, it was around 3 hours and is a legendary example of how lively and fun gdq really is
I was just watching the Pokémon Blue run by shenanagans (151 Pokémon) And was thinking how much I’d love to see him do Crystal. Amazing run! Always so much fun, Shenanagans and friends!
I still very clearly remember this run - partially because of the bulbasaur thing, as someone who fell in love with it in, of all things, x and y, but also because I was so determined to see this run that I literally stayed up all night to see it. I can definitely say it was fully worth it.
Shen and Keiz, two of my faves of the pokemon GDQ crew (haven't encountered Chris before; I'm sure he'll be fun) with Sky as the announcer on a Crystal Rando? Heeeellllll yeah.
Don't think so. They raised a million dollars or close to it during a Chrono Trigger run. It was around 2 million at the beginning and by the end it was over 3 million. It was the final run of SGDQ2019. I think it was the first time they broke 3 million at a GDQ.
59:50 Kei : We're so unique and exciting. Shen : Yeah... unfortunately sometimes you just have to run the same thing. Chris : I'm different , yeahhhhhh~ Kei : Tsk. Shen : Well you found an alakazam before Falkner. Chris : *IT ONLY HAD ONE MOVE !!* Shen : You found an alakazam with *psychic* before Falkner ! So funny had to rewatch this part again.
Over 120k dollars were donated to charity during this run, Shen, Chris, Keiz and Skybilz should be really proud of themselves! The run was really fun and hype to watch, although I can totally understand why some people thought it was chaotic and maybe were even a little bit dissapointed - I've watched Shen and Chris do Key rando races for quite a while now, and 3 screens is still maybe a bit too much to take in all at once, even when I understand why they're doing certain routes and choices that they're doing. But on the other hand, maybe the point of the whole run wasn't in the speedrun itself - I'm sure that a lot of viewers haven't ever seen a Key Item rando, or Pokemon randomizers at all before this, and in my opinion it's really good for the whole community to remind the viewers and runners themselves that while grinding for that WR or PB is important, fun and requires a lot on technical precision and practice, there is so much more to the speedrunning community than just that. And the real WR is the jokes and memes made with friends along the way, like this run showcases perfectly. I hope that this isn't the last time we see these three together on the GDQ stream, and maybe we'll one day see Shen finally running a Bulbasaur in a race now that they're hopefully trying to reconnect after all the bad things Shen has asked forgiveness for.
yussssssssssssssssssssssssssss, this is my favorite game in the series still! An I always love to watch the runs each year. Awesome job all hope your enjoying the new year

Ah yes, the run where an incentive milestone was created because Shen was the unintentional villain of Twitch chat and Pokemon fans over for "dissing" Bulbasaur as the slowest Gen 1 starter speedrun-wise. And even more new memes were born that day (yesterday really), including BulbaShen. Congrats for raising over 100K for memes, charity, and a written apology from Shen for hitting 900K :D
The title has the wrong time in it. Don’t want people getting mixed up when scrolling. Great run though and thank you so much for the hard work production puts in. It isn’t easy and I’m grateful I can catch up since I’ve been working so much and can’t keep up with the live stream
Runner introduction starts at 0:15
Run starts at 2:06
feasel interviews SpeedFrog at 2:46:59
Skybilz is host
Shen's encyclopedic knowledge of Pokémon cries never fails to impress
I looked up skuntank right after he did it. Fucking spot on.
In a three-way run, Shen managed to come in fourth. Great job chat on completing Apology%!
Shen's apology:

You are a Hero. Every GDQ Shen will appear on a Pokemonrun i have Something to come pick this up
This gang is always one of my favorites to watch at GDQ, thanks for the incredible speedrun and entertaining chats!
Easily my favorite run as of posting this. I literally stopped watching the gameplay and instead was fascinated on the money total. The way the fans donated over 50 grand because someone insulted a Pokemon and wanted a apology. And they hit 900 grand before he even finished his run. Amazing!

Can't believe I've just watched a GDQ run, a Crystal one no less, where things went well for Keiz!
I'm so proud of him, haha.
The very first thing I did was check if the run came under estimate 😅
I said it once, I'll say it again: Keiz and Shen on the same screen is pure memetime. Watching that Bulbasaur Meme unfold live & the aftermath of it by Twitchchat mindlessly spamming the Apology together with the goated new Bulbashen Emote was the most Fun thing to watch in a while.
That ~~Gyarados~~ Victreebell was absolutely hilarious to see. Keiz' reaction was perfection.
Actually amazing run, congrats to all three runners on a wonderful performance and for helping to raise so much for charity.
The run, the host, the general vibe of the chat: everything was awesome (live). I had so much fun watching (and rewatching) this run. We need more 3 ways solo randomizer at SGDQ!
1:42:33 the tech team adds the Shenagans_ Written Apology milestone
1:43:53 Skybilz and runners find out
Keiz doesn't like "over-estimate" jokes anymore, and it was genuinely nice to see him do so well. I know he's been having a hard time lately, very well deserved.
I wonners
congrashulaton
Gratz
1:19:43 For all of them going different routes, that was some remarkable synchronisation.
That was beautiful. Commentary, quality, and the runners made this whole run very enjoyable。Really hope the donations help out those in need.
I love how Chris named the rival Shen
#musclememory :P
Stream was lovely, especially last 20 minutes
Full credit to skybilz for being a great host! Played off of the runners in a great way, good sense of humour and good attempts with the pokémon cries!
1:33:02 The beginning of the most iconic moment in a Pokemon speedrun.
I was wondering how many donations this run got. Between Keiz's pokemon cries, Shenanasaur turning full heel, and $110K raised during the run, this might be an all-time great GDQ run.

This was probably my favorite run of the event. Literally laughed out loud soooo much. Thank you all, I needed this a lot this week.
Shoutout to the legendary tech crew for improvising the milestone
Shen and Keiz are my favorite duo. Chris is a great addition. Happy to see them on GDQ yet again :)
Pokemon runs are always the best ones to watch at GDQ, best commentary and the best content!
watched this live and i’m immediately ready to watch it again and again
I’m a simple person, I see Keizaron running a Pokémon game, I click.
This truly is amazing - watching this run for the second time and just such a wholesome runner and couch. Way to go Keiz :D
This was my favorite run by far , watching these three was so fun , I saw this live and was hooked
This was one of my favorite runs this marathon. The changes to the stream layout/donation incentives alone made me laugh out loud
I was just watching the Pokémon Blue run by shenanagans (151 Pokémon)
And was thinking how much I’d love to see him do Crystal.
Amazing run! Always so much fun, Shenanagans and friends!
So sad i missed this live. I love all three of these guys.
I absolutely thrive on the Pokemon impressions.
This run had me in absolute tears of laughter! Amazing run as always from this crew
I still very clearly remember this run - partially because of the bulbasaur thing, as someone who fell in love with it in, of all things, x and y, but also because I was so determined to see this run that I literally stayed up all night to see it. I can definitely say it was fully worth it.
This was absolutely incredible to see live lol
Shen and Keiz, two of my faves of the pokemon GDQ crew (haven't encountered Chris before; I'm sure he'll be fun) with Sky as the announcer on a Crystal Rando? Heeeellllll yeah.
I think this is one of the best GDQ segments I've ever seen. This is definitely up there with the 2017 Kingdom Hearts 2 run as one of my favorites
That shiny Victreebel made me laugh so hard... XD
Chris's little grin when he found 2 spoons with psychic lol
Dearest Bulbasaur :D such a fun run that dominated the entire GDQ this year
Watched this on stream and when I first heard about this I knew it was gonna be a chaotic mess. Loved watching it so much!
"I'm taking right and go"
They act like he's a madman, only for both of them to pick the same one xD
I saw this pop up on my recommended and did a doubletake when I saw it was 12 hours old. Crystal revisited, HYPE!
Nice job Keizaron! Glad to see you speed running again buddy!
Is this actually the most money that's been raised during a single run at GDQ?
If it is, I'd imagine we'll see plenty of Pokemon randomizers at GDQs!
Chrono Trigger I think still holds that record, was the first time they cracked 3 million, I think?
I think the Chrono Trigger run at SGDQ 2019 raised over 800k.
Depends on when you define a run to start, cause all the stuff before and after Undertale 2016 is still hard to top.
Don't think so. They raised a million dollars or close to it during a Chrono Trigger run. It was around 2 million at the beginning and by the end it was over 3 million. It was the final run of SGDQ2019. I think it was the first time they broke 3 million at a GDQ.

What a super entertaining run lmao the heel action Shen had going on there, amazing.
Great idea for a run! I look forward to watching it tonight

Don't worry, their item trackers get fixed at 19:09. Edit: But the runners keep forgetting to update them, so...
Hilarious run though.
yussssssssssssssssssssssssssss, this is my favorite game in the series still! An I always love to watch the runs each year. Awesome job all hope your enjoying the new year
So happy to see those 3 legends here.
Big Fan!
If you haven't had bacon + onion pizza you haven't lived. Optional banana peppers 🌶 and hot sauce
Possibly one of the most memorable runs of this years AGDQ.
I can't believe they got a fucking randomizer into GDQ, I love this
Dearest Bulbasaur,
I humbly apologize for the misguided and completely baseless claims that you are "bad." After minutes of reflection I've come to realize that you are an amazing Pokémon and I'm truly sorry for my attitude for the last 7 years. I appreciate that you've been there for me even though I wasn't there for you. Thank you Bulbasaur -Shen
Damn, that in-game sound really makes it hard to hear the conversation at times.
Time to rewatch this super entertaining run!
I think this was even better than Keizs Crystal run in 2019. Loved it from start to finish
I am a simple man, I see a pokemon run featuring Keizaron... I watch.
Keizaron's reaction during that pun poem donation announcement was gold
Wow such a good fun stream, highly recommend watching the whole thing
Allways Funny to me, no matter which "Randomizer" Crystal Run i See, they always get the same starter Pokemon xD
Always hyped for a Keiz run
That ending was truly magical.
This run was great. Looking forward to the inevitable community post from Shen.
I am a simple man. I see a crystal run with Kez involved, and I click
I'm Chaotic Good, so in my book you can absolutely put crab on pizza.
Anything is a pizza topping if you believe hard enough. Once in a moment of studently gluttony, I put a whole second pizza as a topping.
Chaotic Evil.
Crab pizza sounds so delicious
Much love from the UIM community :)
Hands down funniest GDQ run ever
love it when the donations ask them to make pokemon sounds
Watching this after Keiz's tweets hits different :( much love Keiz ❤️❤️
The Jynx impression - legendary
"It's a Pokemon run!"
Eh I'll probably skip it.
"With Keizaron!"
ALRIGHT NEVERMIND
And now Bulbashen lives on as an emote. May we never forget.
"You would be slow if your mouth was that big"
Keiz... never stop being you.
to be fair, that's the classic self-deprecating humor, which is admittedly gold :P
Great Trio Runner picks!
Might be my favorite run this GDQ
I'm a simple man. I see Pokemon run w/Keizaron. I click.
My three favorite Pokemon Trainers! ♥
The way they were in sync at 1:19:31 blows my mind lol
Man I love Keiz and/or Shen pokemon at GDQs 😂 honestly a staple for me
I've heard good things about this one in a discord server I'm in. Time for me to settle in and watch this as I try to sleep!
a stampede of 10,000 Bulbasaurs sounds adorable
The title has the wrong time in it. Don’t want people getting mixed up when scrolling. Great run though and thank you so much for the hard work production puts in. It isn’t easy and I’m grateful I can catch up since I’ve been working so much and can’t keep up with the live stream
I'm dying of laughter here after the Milestone reached part
Oh my god fucking with shen is the best thing
the synchronization of Keiz and Chris on 1:19:40!
It's brilliant how gamers can come together like this to make a positive (basically 1M USD) difference for those affected by cancer.
Future speedrun idea:
1st gen pokemon with 3 different starters, with 1 rule:
Your starter must be the highest lvl pokemon you own
Loved this run. Big day for Victrebell fans.
the game sound is so loud compared to the players :( i hope someone fixes it at some point, it's hard to hear them
2:31:15 for bulbashen
Shen being the only one who didn't finish before the total hit 900k is just *chef's kiss*
Imagine being so separate from the world that you thinkk Bacon is ONLY for breakfast xD
Breakfast pizza is the cold leftovers from the previous day, and it is delicious! 😋
Another Crystal run with Keizaron at GDQ? Oh this is gonna be good.
this was amazingly entertaining :D
