This is my go to music and band when I want to step into the time machine and go back to the carefree times of my youth. I’m 70 years young now and The Marshal Tucker Band gives me the same thrill now as it did then. Long live country rock.
Unless you were around at that time, the younger generation will never understand. Never. RIP one of the greatest bands to ever exist on the face of the earth.
I grew up with their kids. Played Tball for the Marshall Tucker Bandits when I was 5. My mom kept the Jersey and my wife has bought a shadow box for it to hang it in my office.
Seen Marshall Tucker at the August Jam Charlotte Motor Speedway 1974. I was 16 years old would love to go back to those days. You don't find bands like we had I those days love the 70s and 80s. Rock on.
I was there also. At the time I had never heard of them. When they finished, all I could say over and over was, "A hellava a band!!!" Of course I became a life time fan. I am now 66 years old, but still remember it like yesterday. One hellava of a band!
The music lives on. The man, the Legend, the musical pioneer and the Marshall Tucker Band, that influenced many taught many well and highly respected. As the music plays on, ride in peace.
It’s 2020 im a 19 year old rapper and this is still one of my favorite songs. Thank you mom for playing this in the car when I was little. I love you ❤️

They were my favorite band back in the 70’s . I still love there music today and forever! Boy the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s were a magical time for music. So glad I grew up in that era! There is a lot of beautiful music created by the younger talent in today’s time, I just hope they carry on the music and magic the was created in that magical era! 🙏
Riding around in Donger’s stang listening to MTB on many a freezing night at Purdue University in the early 80s. The two of us getting stoned with Jesus (my roommate’s nickname ;). Glory Days!
Live they actually have time to play their solos, the album version is too short. This is a 5-7 minute song they shortened to under 4 minutes for radio play. I feel the same way about a lot of songs from that era, the radio certainly hurt some bands as they were a lot better live.
anything with this many members i.e allman brothers band, charlie daniels band, grateful dead, lynyrd skynyrd, doobie brothers, chicago has so many top notch members they all need a few minutes to shine on every jam. very hard to do in studio, thats why the bands i just named will forever be the greatest bands live

Purple heart Marine. Read a letter that was written to his dad who has now passed away and was posted on the Toy Caldwell Appreciation Page on FB several years ago that he carried a fellow marine quite a long way to safety. He said he had written this prior to MTB existence. There is a song with a picture of a service member with a rifle thrown over one shoulder, a guitar over the other. I can almost see the guy turn around and it be Toy. Miss you so much...our boys...Toy, Tommy. George. Rest in peace. You left behind a beautiful gift of music... all of MTB. Semper Fi Toy & Tommy. And thanks Doug for your service in the Army.
I saw MTB in a small venue in Cedar Rapids Iowa in the late seventies, there was a snow storm and I was doing windowpane & the band blew me away - it was a great night
I dated the best guy in the whole world (sorry, hubby of 32 years! LOL!) when MTB was popular. He was truly a country boy and could do anything and didn't need tobacco, guns or troublemaking like some "country" fans do today. He built the most beautiful log cabin homes and it broke my heart when he had a major stroke and will never be the same., because they just don't make men like him anymore. I liked all their songs, but my favorite was always "property line". Guess I was hoping he would marry me, build me a log home in the woods and share our love forever. There is just something positive and catchy about that song with the sweet lyrics of a guy falling in love and wanting to "walk his property line". Thanks for the memories forever John, xoxoxo
