Old Titles 2018 Logo - Doctor Who

- The 2018 logo has become the definitive logo for branding reasons, and so here is my work digitally erasing the old logos.
(I haven't done 3.2, 4.2, 6 or 9 because they are repeated with 4, 5 and 10) That being said I ended up doing the Sixth's when I made the twitter thread, which you can see in my Twitter moment - / 990215043651391489 - Розваги
The transition with the tardis flying through the logo in Matt Smith's sequence is amazing
YES
Love this! It’s so interesting to see “what if...”
I think it most suits the Moffat era onwards then the previous ones, but that’s because those are the latest graphics!
Josh Snares actually, oddly enough, it suits the 1981 titles pretty well.
I actually thought the logo was out of place in the Moffat intros. I think it looked a lot more at home in the 1987 intro, the webcast intros, and the Davies intro.
0:54 was particularly impressive. Well done!
0:55 the cloning action was nice
tbh it actually really does suit the 2010 and 2014 title sequences :)
AMAZING! You managed to alter every Doctor Who intro with the new logo. You should be working with the Doctor Who team right now.
Emmanuel U I agree
What a fantastic logo we've had for the last 50 years!
I'll admit when I first saw this I was like, "Oh, the new titles are missing. I guess this must've been made before they came out,"
r/facepalm
Bruh moment
Very well done. I like how you made it look like each era in terms of lighting and animation. Great video
I'm glad you're having so much fun playing with the new logo. But you have to admit that the more modern the sequence, the better it looks.
Nick Hentschel not entirely, it looked pretty good from 1981-2014
Eh; the modern titles are a bit shite tbh
If you ask me, the only modern title sequence in which the new logo works is the Series 7B titles.
@@gavisinspacern1488 nah they aren't
You know what: The new logo looks fantastic on 9 & 10's, actually! I love it!
@HjRobinsWho Thank you SO MUCH. This IS sheer genius. I never ever thought I'd say it but this is the greatest and cleverest video for Doctor Who.
How you managed to do ALL the titles perfectly is itself a mystery that the Doctor him/herself would be confounded by.
Well done and thank you so much. Means a lot.
Oh my God the editing for Series 5 logo was fantastic! The tardis just floated in so seemlessly.
These are actually pretty well done.
I'm really impressed with this.
At the moment I'm at the Sylvester McCoy era of Dr Who marathon to keep me going until the new series in October. LOL
It must have taken ages to edit out the original logos from each sequence and then replace with the new one.
Worth doing and thanks for sharing.
Haha, thank you! Yeah, it took about six hours spread over a week. Some were easier than others, and McCoy's was probably the hardest because of the CGI TARDIS.
The editing on this is FANTASTIC!
The sylvester McCoy one is so nicely edited!
I love the 1980 transition effect. Like the stars.
Wow really well done great job!
Loving all the remake of the intros with the new doctor who logo ;-;
the new logo fits matt’s second theme really well
Very good. Congratulations.
I'm in love with the logo multiplying in 5's.
I respect how this dude literally remade almost every doctor who title sequence just to put the new logo in it
This, I'd think, is amazing work! I like how you basically managed to erase all the old logos. On the flipside, the colouration of the logo on 11's first intro, I think, needs to be made a silver-y colour. Otherwise, nice job!
P.S. Can you do the same thing with the 2010 logo (the original with the DW, not the various other iterations)?
Y'know, I wouldn't mind this being included on every title sequence on future rereleases, as I really love the logo.
I mean, just LOOK at how good it looks in the Capaldi titles.
Good work!
The Pertwee and Davison ones work really well with the new logo.
I keep rewatching this! I think if the logo was thicker and in its intended gold/yellow then it could work really nicely in the pertwee sequence. Blends into the background too quickly otherwise. The only sequence I really don't think it could ever work in is the movie titles. Not big and blocky enough.
I honestly love this logo
How did you manage to digitally substitute each respective logo without any errors? That's INCREDIBLE!!
Thank you!
1 is mirrored, 2 and 3 have test footage without the logo I used, 4 is slit scan and so I scaled the vortex down at a different time, 5, 7, 8, Death Comes to Time, Real Time, and 11.2 were recreated fully. Shada and Scream of the Shalka were edited and re-rendered from their original flash files. 11's title sequence is the only one that has been released without a logo anyway. 9/10 I used the blank logo over the top of the original logo, and then 12's I repeated the footage.
@@HjRobins I think there is a version of the Series 7B Clean Titles
@@HjRobins There definitely is a version of the Series 7B titles without the logo.
I actually have the file on my computer as well. Even then, yours was still spot on (if not, looked a lot better than the official)
These should air as the new intros of the original series reruns on horror channel also the 1996 TV movie should air on horror channel as well
Very nice
Totally awesome!!!
These are all superb by the way. I think the Tom Baker and Sylvester ones are my favourite.
2:50 - 2:55 is my favourite
THE 2010 ONE GAVE ME CHILLS SO GOOD!
Very good.
2:43 either they used your logo or remade it because that is the logo they used in the big finish Eccleston trailer
I am not saying that the new logo is bad, but it's more like for Pertwee's Logo, which I like it. That was brilliant.
Nice!!
It actually kind of fits the Shalka into!
I wanna see what it would look like if all the doctor Who Intros used the 3-4th Doctor logo
And then the 13th intro popped up with the first logo
Can you do it for the most recent logo? Aka the new RTD era one?
Mission passed
Respect +
Fantastic job; quite frankly I have no idea how you did these, only thing I know is that you (probably) used BluffTitler in some way as that is an excellent piece of software. My favourite logo is probably the 81-86 logo.
Also the Trial of a Timelord Intro
11's first intro was creative
Bonus points for doing all the animated ones everyone had forgotten about.
I only did them because they are by the far the easiest.
HjRobins, further bonus points for honesty.
This is visually good, but now, on my, what, 5th time watching this I've spotted a some lines on the movie titles and I can't unsee it, which is annoying me.
Still, great work.
The original has that! Although less noticable, I was exaggerating it haha.
I like the Matt Smith edit the most, it actually looked like it COULD HAVE worked as the logo for that title sequence.
Would you be consider trying out all of the opening titles with the diamond logo or other logos for that matter?
Okay, this is clever.
This is great, & the new logo works well in MOST of the old opening titles....why no 6th Doctor version though?
At the time I thought it was too similar to Peter Davison's, however I changed my mind when making the twitter thread which I've put in the description.
Davison's, McCoy's and Smith's work the best. McCoy's on particular, I loved the effect of the Tardis flying by and then logo
Also the old webseries from the 00’s That should be uploaded on UA-cam
@Noah Tabraham Death Comes to Time, actually. Scream of the Shalka wasn't a web series.
0:22 Is it just me, or is there something not right with Pertwee's face? It looks slightly different.
I'm using the test footage, which was all in black and white, and so I had recolour it using the actual title sequence meaning the colours aren't aligned properly. But then I think that's rather fitting considering most of Pertwee's episodes use chroma dot recovery or vhs recordings for the colour.
How did you get that 3rd howl around thing from?
0:21
That was really clever to replace the flying letters in the ‘87 intro with the TARDIS. Really great video!
It is close to being a perfect logo. It's at the very least as versatile as the Pertwee/McGann logo.
I really dislike how they are making this logo the "definitive one", to me it will always be Bernard Lodge's Pertwee/McGann logo.
Other than that, excellent editing as always!
ADarthTokuDalek I’m very used to that one, hell my profile picture is that one! But I like the new one, and I like how the show can be viewed as a whole under one logo, it had to be done at some point.
HjRobinsWho But it's pointless, a new logo will rise (eventually anyway), which will render this marketing plan kinda pointless in retrospective.
people said the same thing in 2005 and 2010
HollyBlueAgitated But they didn't slap those logos on everything.
All of the logos are the logo...for their era. I don’t like it when they mismatch and use, say, the diamond logo for Colin, or the Pertwee logo for Tom, etc. Whichever logo was from that era is the only one that should be used for content from that era, period.
You should try this with the 2023-Onwards logo! That'd be interesting!
How do you do it, its amazing
I really like the 11th doctors one
I wish Time Crash did something like this
whole lotta looping lol
It's works brilliantly at 2:58!!
No
Neat
Me encanta un ❤
You forgot the colin baker intro.
1:01 puppetwarped!
yeaaaa, couldn't resist.
FINALLY MY CLASSIC SERIES BLU RAYS NOW HAS THE CORRECT LOGO NOW!
but in all seriousness you did a really great job with this video!
You forgot trail of a time lord
I like it very good but you missed the 6th doctor out
I decided that it was too similar to Peter Davison's, but then changed my mind when I made my twitter thread: twitter.com/HjRobins/status/990215043651391489
(Which is why it's only one that's not sandwiched in 16:9)
Can I use The 7th doctor one
i will give you credit
sure thing, just link to this video
you're gonna have to update this now.
I don't think the new logo would look as good in all the old titles to be honest. But I'm thinking about making a fan made titles with it for the new series.
@@HjRobins Oh, okay.
This should gave been the new intro sequences!
You should've included 6 and 9 because they're slightly different to 5 and 10
I ended up doing the Sixth Doctor's on Twitter (twitter.com/HjRobins/status/990215043651391489).
But as with the 9th and 10th Doctor's, they're so hard to do because there's no clean background higher resolution than 240p, so I had to track the clean oval (very badly mind you). The 9th Doctor's title is glossy and has reflections so it's harder, and I wanted to get this done as soon as possible.
The fact that Death Comes To Time, Real Time, Shada, and Scream of the Shalka gets included in this is just so cool to reach to the far depths of Who fandom
I read doctor who LEGO title sequences
The new logo looks great in the 9/10 sequence
TardisSixteen ikr
All the logos have been great, but I’ll always prefer the 1970-74, 1996 logo.
You forgot the colin baker intro!
You forgot to read the description! haha
That was interesting, I'm surprised how well it goes with the Third, Fifth & TV movie titles - don't think it works as well with the others though
Thank you. I'm the happiest about the Seventh Doctor's, but probably because I spent ages getting the CGI TARDIS to move and look in a way it would have back then.
I do like the logo, but I honestlt do find it annoying that its slapped on literally everything, a lot of things it doesnt belong. Like the seventh doctor comic cover that was revealed....it really doesnt fit. The Big Finish covers are okay, but they do need to look at different colouring options for the logos as that orange/yellow doesnt go with everything. If they did something like this, then I'm sorry, that's just taking the piss completely, the BBC seem to think its a good idea. It's really not.
kylephantom4 it’s a pretty good idea, they’ve done it before, I don’t know to whatever scale but when the Moffat era started then all the toys for tennant and ecclston changed their logo. I like the logo and seeing it on everything isn’t a bad thing, I just want to see it in the shows title sequence like how they’re going to incorporate the line going through it or the of cantered lines on the H.
Well that was different, but like it's a bigger scale this time as they are basically even ditching the pertwee/mcgann logo in place for the new one on classic stuff which feels a little annoying as well.
At least big finish used reversable covers so you can see the original logo of the era
Your forgot to add the 2018 intro. Oh wait,
2:58
It really only works on the RTD openings
Nine people have no soul
*damn* you even got the freaking SHALKA doctor!?
Haha, Every different title sequence. I was just thinking today that I should totally recreate the Classic DVD vortex intro as well!
I wonder if you could also "2018-ify" the Confidential title sequences
Very nice representation
while i feel erasing all the logos on every single piece of doctor who media and changing it to the new ones is a huge crime no matter the reason, this is pretty impressive work none the less (other than 9-10).
It was a great reason - no one can stop me so why not haha.
02:50 was really well done.
The new logo makes even Sylvester McCoy’s title sequence look good! The only one it doesn’t quite work with is the slit-scan one from early Tom Baker. I wonder whether it would be possible to create a “hybrid” logo, with the new typeface and styling put in front of a diamond shape? Sort of like how you put the new logo on top of the “lozenge” for the 9/10 title sequence.
But great work, all the same!
You even did the webcasts??? Awesome!
we need a bold logo!
Hello, the 2010-2018 logo is a bold font!
I actually made the font a bit bolder for Hartnell's one because it would've blended into the sequence too much.
TigerMan1995 if only your brain was a bit more bold...
Excuse me...poor insult.
Amusing. Until the next logo when it all has to change again. :-)
Where did you get the logo from?
literally what I see in my nightmares:
I sit down to watch a nice episode of classic doctor who and then I'm suddenly reminded of Chris Chibnall *shudder*
Says a lot about you that a bit of iconography can do that
1:40 what doctor is that for
Sylvester McCoy, it was a webcast the aired from 2001-2
HjRobinsWho oh
It works for the modern era, but especially in stuff like the ‘74 Diamond, it just looks vastly inferior imo
