Can you make a video on diesel engines? More specifically, a 2 stroke detroit diesel 453. They have a very interesting exhuast note and a very "clanky" sound!
I always see people using C and C# for the pistons... Aren't they just literally the same kick but one ever so slightly sped up? Is that just so that there are two slightly different timbres so it doesn't sound "flat" like the supercharger? Also, I notice there are different note lengths. What's with that?
@@bigf1nzjust resize the note to the same size as the previous one and all notes you create after that will be the same size. And also if you want your engine sounds to sound even more realistic you can vary the pitch and velocity of each note. Say 0, 40, 60, 20, 50, 10 (cents) for a bmw z4ish sound. And you can also vary the velocity too. Using audacity you can record the engine through the speakers you want to recreate and and add regions after every wave shape so that you can hear what each pitch is. To hear the pitch better you might have raised it by an octave or two. And then try to adjust the velocity of the notes based on the size of the wave shapes for each region. I have also found out that 0 is inline, -15 is VR, -30 is 60, -50 is 90, and -100 is flat or boxer depending on the firing interval. These can be done is semitones or cents depending on the sound you are trying to get. You should try to redo the original video with the things I have told you and see how it comes out
Yes, if you go to trank 1 and open the control center you can choose what engine you want to hear, just click play and it works. If you need more help or have other questions, please join the discord on the discription!

01:37 THIS IS SO ACCURATE WTH
Gran Turismo devs need to see this video.......
Adding some convolution and phasing and chorusing can add more realism to the idle and resonance of the sound.
thanks for the tip i'll look into it for the next video
Everyone get this in the algorithm so we can get the flp
this was fun to play with altiverb has impulse responses of the inside of cars which made it even more cool

I don't know, you could try that. I just thought this sounded the best for me!
The lengths are because of fl studio and i don't know how to fix it...

@@bigf1nzwhen shrinking the notes like you showed in the vid hold some key down ( I forgot too 😂) but it should automatically quantize them
@@ffivguy1990 Thanks for the tips man, I'll make another video soon!
How do you make the muffler?
I just put a limiter with the ceil a little lower
@@bigf1nzIt doesnt work
@@jimwhyte1478 you can also put a eq on it with a low cut and high cut!
@@bigf1nz but on what
Just put a eq on the master with a high pass, then just follow the tutorial from: 3:21 but then with a eq and not a limiter
This is so cool
♥
drop the flp pls this is so fire
what kick do i use pls
just look for one that sounds to your liking or you could make a pattern and try different ones or different eq's!!!
hi i tried the flp but no sound come out, is that normal?
