I already told my friends, that I spent whole night watching the best plo training video. When they asked me for the link, of course I said NO WAY im giving out the link ))!
Good morning professor, was just getting ready to do a small study session before I start my grind and this pops up! Keep up the good work, very insightful stuff.
Ty so much for watching! I’ll be working on episode 8 today!
Played with the guy at the series and he kicked my ass. Glad he is returning the favor with some amazing lessons.
Thank you for the free content and enjoyed your positive attitude at the tables!
TY for watching! Many people are telling me that they truly appreciate this free advice; now my biggest issue is going to be playing against people who are aware of what I'm thinking....
Even though the camera angle is rather…awkward, the content far more than makes up for it. Thank you for putting this out there, much appreciated and respected 🙏🏼🤝
The camera angle does get corrected by episode ten (wife’s a professional photographer and corrected me!)
@@ploprofessor fantastic 👏 looking forward to the new views 😀
Another very helpful video. I like this stuff as it applies to actual live PLO.
TY so much for watching and the comment! Appreciate it!
1-2-3-4 I declare a leveling war! We have a "Psycho Sammy" too, they make for the best pots & stories. Thank you for the info, your lessons are golden!

Shirt change-up! The Professor’s got that late 50s/early 60s casual Goomba look goin’ on! 😉
I got that shirt from a store called boomerang in Marquette Michigan - they specialize in things from that era! I love it!
Ready for the next one coach!!! Hahaha just went through and watched all your videos. Love them.
Ty for watching them! I appreciate all the likes, watches, and subscribes. Please feel free to share! Episode 8 should be out in next day or two
I think I'm going to be the best PLO poker after watching this
It certainly won’t hurt anyones play! Ty for tuning in!
Thanks for the content bro!
Ty for watching! Episode 8 should be out tomorrow / Sunday!
Question: When I have top set (maybe middle set) with not much else and the SPR is 5 or higher, how should I be playing draw heavy boards. My general thought is that I want to check raise to get my chips in the pot and avoid the very likely situation where a draw gets there on the turn and I am facing a pot sized bet and I don't have the equity to call with my 10 outs. I know I have some implied odds, but I don't know how to factor them in since I may not get called. Paradoxically, I think I also want to do this with many draws, especially ones with about 10-12 outs.. If I brick the turn with these, I may not have the pot odds to call. Of course, if I have 14+ outs, I will have the necessary odds to call a turn bet and now I can save money when the board pairs.
How does all this change as stacks get really deep, like an SPR of 12 or more. Sets on draw heavy boards feel like very dangerous hands, especially when opponents are capable of bluffing.
Amazingly excellent questions. I hate to answer it this way but if if you flop top set vs a heavy draw board (like 69J with two clubs). And you have a set of Jacks. If you lead pot or check /pot keep in mind your opponents will have proper odds to call you (even in a check/ pot situation).
What you have to factor if the turn puts out that scare card (say 8 of clubs - so pretty much any draw got there)…..
The only way I’m calling a pot size bet there is if I truly believe my opponent will pay me off if I hit (this is also assuming we hold nothing of significance with JJ…. Like ten or clubs in our hand)…. And this also doesn’t factor in position….
You have to go with your gut in the situation but overall if I flop top set I’d rather pot it to start (or mix in a value bet) - so your opponent doesn’t know you have top set vs a drawing hand - so you have more opportunities to bluff at the hand…..
So take the same board 69J with two clubs and you have JJqa with just the Q of clubs…. And you for value - say 200 in pot and you lead for 100 (looks like you’re betting a draw). You get two callers and the turn is a red 8…..
You can still lead here because your opponents don’t know if the 8 made your hand… or if you’re doing a block bet -
I hope this helps answer your question (again…. Go with your gut but I’m going to be leading both flop and turn)
Could you please go over proper strategy for Archie,Triple draw any any with qualifiers.8 low and nines or better for hi?
Should I straddle on the button? Also any tips for really loose games would be good, two players are generally raising 50%+ of their hands preflop from any position, Not sure if you every play these, but advice on double board bomb pots would be great too. Love the videos, keep up the good work.
I’ll make sure to touch up on double board bomb pots! Also to deal with a crazy table I think that’s episode 3…. I have some strategies for that…. Blocker bets pre flop start taking into effect there
I personally straddle all the time on The button
any suggestions on where to study prflop ranges?
love the videos. im just getting into plo and i love it. Do you offer private coaching?
I do offer private coaching (sorry I didn't respond sooner somehow missed your message) - feel free to text me to go over coaching details. 906.361.2509
I’m still at small stakes. If I flop the nuts or middle set do these blocker bets still apply or should I just pot it
Ty for the question! The blocker bets apply when you don’t have the nuts and are trying to get another card for less than a pot size bet!
Question from the first video, how do you believe that variance in PLO is lower than in Holdem when equities run so much closer together in PLO? I wouldn't mind getting into PLO just because I enjoy playing it, but in terms of skill discrepancy and profit, live holdem is very consistently crushable. PLO has always just seemed like a pile money in with hopefully a 2-3% equity advantage and then hope for the best which is very high variance
Answer is simple. Most of the time yoy put money with 50/50 chance and its ok, in the long run on these types of allins only casino vins.
Variance comes when you put money with 75/25 percent chance, or 90/10 - this is where you get all the profit.
In holdem you actually have less controll of the board postflop.
Variance is unequivocally higher in PLO. He is making this assertion because in the stakes he is referring to people play so much worse at PLO than NL, so he experiences less variance.
@@bryanchaler8128 ohhh this makes sense, like if you were to play 5-10 nlh most games are good to the point that the variance is higher than a same stakes softer plo game... so if im just playing soft as hell 1-2 nlh then I will have less variance
Good question and I didn't see this question two weeks ago; so my apologies by not responding sooner. If you are playing PLO properly; yes, your stack size will go up and down to start with, but as you continue to play PLO and start realizing how much equity you have in hands, you realize that your variance is going to be about the same as it is in Hold em (sure there is slightly more variance, but not as much as you would think). Overall, the argument for NLHE players to transition into PLO is the "more variance / swings are bigger, etc..." NLHE players say this because they are applying NLHE Principles in the PLO game (they are playing the game wrong). Its why I say, if played properly PLO doesn't have that much more variance than NLHE. Hope this makes sense (I know in one of the videos I go over a friend who had AKJT on a 349 board - and his ratio in his stack to pot he decided to go all in - applying a NLHE Principle - which he misplayed).... NLHE principles generally DO NOT Apply to PLO. Ty for the question though!
It’s called a probe bet.
Sub’d
TY!
