The pandemic hammered SR. It's great to see the place slowly coming back to life. It was home for 12 years, so I never tire of watching videos of the place. Thanks for posting.
Freezing cold back here in the UK Ed. You are in a great town, having a good time AND saving money by avoiding what would be expensive electricity and gas bills back home.
You have great humor and lovely accent. Do not feel bad for those hawkers as they try to make a living. They are the true survivors. I had a chance to visit this historical town way back in the 60s as a boy with my family. I did not see many tourist then and the town was so peaceful. Only memory lives on. Life is short. Be kind, be cool, and be happy. Safe travels mate!
Nice attitude mate. My 'girlfriend' has a market stall over there Damnit, didnt spot her...I remember having fun at the rooftop bar, at 14:30 a few years back.
Nice video eddy . We got our first snow today In Toronto. I did not even go out . Yes . If you put your feet in with the fish they would get drunk ! Lol .
Looks so peaceful Eddie. Kinda wish I had visited Cambodia in the mid 2000s.from 2004 to 2009 I travelled frequently to the Philippines, malaysia and Thailand. Cambodia and Vietnam are definitely on my list. 1 dollar for a beer? Superb 👍👍👌🍻🍻🍺👌

Your videos really have stoked my desire to visit Cambodia. From USA, it seems it makes more sense maybe to do a visit within a Thailand trip. Flights and travel time are pretty horrendous otherwise 🤔
Wow, a ghost town compared to five years ago when I last visited. I counted fifty tour buses in the car park at Angkor Wat. Maybe not a bad thing with less crowds?
You should check out Kendall Village which is about a five minute walk from pub Street. There’s a place called common ground Café, and Kamon Japanese restaurant, and there’s an Italian restaurant and there’s a Mexican restaurant that has $1.75 tacos on Tuesdays. The Mexican place is called may be later. It’s kind of tucked behind the provincial hospital.
The coffee is lovely there I heard it’s seems calm Eddy I could actually retire somewhere like this is it cheaper than Thailand Edd I heard it’s easygoing and easier for visas ?
Wel I guess looks can be deceiving at times Ed, it looks on the shanty side but I bet it would be a load of fun when the sun goes down. Might have to check it out some day. Be safe and until next time old son.
Hi Eddie. I was also ALMOST tempted by a snack seller to try to eat a tarantula. They are suppose to taste spicy. I hope you will try it and let us know. Keep a beer handy just in case.
I was in Cambodia in March 2019, and the river in Siam Riep had dried up completely. The river then did have plenty of rubbish though. I thought it was nice to stay there for a couple of days, but on day 5 I was thrilled to leave.
We both laughed at the audacity of the young girl's comment that she had LARGE t shirt for you. 🤣🤣. Is SR much quieter than you remember still?? It sure looks quiet. Yes, Cant help feeling for these stall holder. Anyway Eddie, great to walk around the town 'virtually' with you. very PLEASANT video, Cheers Eddie. ;-]
I need to go somewhere end of feb for a month when my visa runs out , would you recommend Cambodia or Vietnam for my first visit, just for sightseeing in the day really
Another pleasant valley Sunday 🌞. I reckon you meant "colonised by the French". The local people had probably discovered it long before. Pushy market stallholders. Sharp exit.
Good video Eddie , quick question to you on ur eva flight was everyone forced to wear a mask on the whole journey to bangkok or was in people’s own choice cheers

Where are the tourists? The place seems empty. Giant markets with no one there. Are there any bars with ladies in them? I will say it is very clean and well taken care of.
Lived there for a while and really liked it... Just two issues I had, one was the medical care and the other was dating. Seems to be a difficult task trying to find normal women who were open for dating.
Eddy you are, and will always be, an excellent speaker and tour guide. Everything you talk about is interesting and relevant to your followers. Loved the bit of history you included too. I can't wait to visit Siem Reap after watching this.
Siem Reap looking good. Yes, a very "pleasant" town but VERY touristy due to the proximity to Angkor Wat. Amazes me how those shops in the market survive ALL selling the same stuff (T-shirts, souvenirs etc !). Those sellers must have had a tough time during the pandemic 😥
Good move on leaving the market quickly Ed. No point falsely rasing the seller's expectations. Not a big fan of markets either. Laughed when I heard the alcohol poisoning quip. On the other hand it could be happy hour for the fish.
Edward no doubt a beautiful place along with you and it's people . A bit off putting having them come after you trying to sell you something . As you said I hate seeing someone struggle to make a living , makes you feel guilty but you really don't need the stuff . It does spoil an afternoon look around for a tourist , not really interested in artefacts and souvenirs .
Love it Eddie..... thank you. Can't wait to come back. In many of the older buildings that have been kept up and take care of or restored, you can see French colonial architecture. And Cambodia also got their baguette bread from the French, and continue to make it. The country gained independence from France on 9 November 1953. I was two years old at the time. That orange building kitty corner from the old market is the Viva fine Mexican and Khmer food restaurant. I ate there often because I love their tacos. Apparently they now have a second restaurant in town. Can't wait to come back, and stay and live there. And my Khmer friends miss me. Tired of Canada, getting old, and maybe not too many years left on this world. Have to come back soon. Best wishes and thank you for the videos. 😃 🙏🏼 🌴 🇰🇭
Some cute sales girls Ed. I was there in 2015. I remember the red piano and that Mexican restaurant. The Cambodian people are genuine and appreciative of any tips or sales you can give them. When I was in Phnom Penh in 2015 the breakfast at my hotel was included. I would leave a $3.00 tip and they acted like it was their birthday.

Tempted, but I've done a video on that.
Tempted to book to spend Xmas there, given the amount of global warming I had to scrape off the car this morning.
