Hoi4 is one of those weird enjoyably hated games where you have a good time when you start but want to die the longer you play. I love it no matter how much I suck.
I feel like i have a harder start but things get easier once you take more lands and become stronger, run out of things to research and complete your focus tree

With no fuel, good god. The first thing I do when fuel hits 200 days is cease all non-strike force naval operations 100 days the navy becomes decorative. You can survive without a navy, without fuel you're screwed.
GBP is good in competitive multiplayer, but in single player it's not the best imo. You only ever need the max planning stats in pvp against other players using meta divisions and stacking tons of modifiers, but in single player you'll often have a better time with mobile warfare or SFP. The real reason GBP is good in pvp is because mods make planning bonus easier to keep, either by removing the effect spies have on planning and entrenchment and/or removing manual planning bonus decay. PvP players also constantly micro armies for command power abilities, so they're always able to get the tanks they need staff office planned up to max planning even if they have 50 tank divisions. That micro just isn't worth it against the AI as it's tedious and annoying to do, and it's much easier to just use another doctrine.
He named everything Elite for the Moral Boost of course, think about the scene from Kingdom of Heaven, when Balian declares his soldiers to be knights. He had still held Prussia, so I think it was absolutly justified.
Could be that researching further in research speed isn't so much the research speed but rather the modules you get from it and the fact that the most advanced fire control is locked behind it. Only reason I research that far anyways.
He even had the UK on his side as GERMANY. I thought I was bad when I struggled to take down France as Belgium, and this guy managed to get obliterated as Germany!
He went for the space marine strat which is a good one with medium SP AA and somehow F'd it up. Quite impressive. Guess because Ahistorical and the French went to war over Sudetenland. As Germany is still weak early game.

And in the background, he was selling off important equipment to fund all his silly posing and prancing. He lost almost all that Germany had gained and was promptly taken out back and shot like a turkey, and thusly was the common sense budgetteer installed over all the armed forces.
This channel got me to buy Hoi4 and a ton of DLC.... Dear God I hope I know what the hell I'm doing when its finished installing. Thank you Bitt3rSteel for all the great content you smooth salesman you.

You have bigger balls than I, trusting the frontline AI with your "offense" divisions instead of setting them on an empty garrison order somewhere random and microing them manually The AI these days is way better at countersnaking my snakes and encircling my tanks before infantry can strat redeploy in, and this is not helped by the frontline AI deciding half of my tanks are better suited 300 miles away
The thing with Engineering research is that you get a really good tank module for Improved Computing Machine, which is worth going for. This is probably the reason the person who submitted went so far in the engineering tree
I know that clueless new players exist, but how do you lose this badly as Germany? Literally the only time where I counted myself as "losing" as Germany is when I can't push, and it turned into a stalemate not getting pushed all the way back to Berlin

heres an idea you might like to do, start as japan non-ironman game, win the war against china as fast as possible and make them a really strong nation, then switch to germany and defeat the soviets, then switch to USA and defeat both japan and germany
This feels like a beginner game, with some idea of what's going on Mine was similar, except the in game tutorial sucked so I fumbled around with research and eventually lost due to declaring war on a nation that had allied guarantee on it (Poland or Yugoslavia, I think the latter, and while I can handle two fronts now, I barely knew how frontlines worked, so was stuck and eventually capitulated when the US started nuking me) Your game tutorial video definitely helped me though
Feels weird watching this video knowing that i had a similar playthrough a few months ago. Same division template and faction name. I managed to get 5 Generals full of these Elite Divisions cause i dismissed air completely and sold it to get even more factories. And i had the whole world conquer'd in 42-43 cause spacemarines to brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
The disaster save i think was 100% caused by making a template and not having enough equipment for it, he forgot to put the ships back to port, and he had no fuel or synthetics. And i think there is no need to say that Battle plan is bad, but in this case if you don't have fuel, you don't have tanks. You can defeat the AI easily with any strategy, you just need to have a stockpile, supplies, something to stop enemy Air, and good soft attack. Germany for new players is really hard because you are forced to design multiple planes, tanks, divisions, managing more than 100 units + the naval combat, Multiple fronts.
I simply don't understand how someone could suck this badly with Germany. In my friend's first ever game, he made a lot of mistakes, but still won the land war, only failing to launch naval invasions. All you really need is a good division and understanding of the economy.

It's nice to see the disaster saves be back, although personally i would find it a lot more interesting if, instead of just instantly converting everything to how you would do it, you try to run with the general Idea that was going on in the save. In this case maybe using the medium tank AA in some elite divisions, staying grand battleplan, keeping the tank companies that were already invested into, and just rolling with it, etc.

But, it is 1940 and the Germans declared war on them too and triggering endless naval invasion on Anatolia.😢 I felt violated and it traumatize me to this day. Only Bittersteel's suffering that could console me😢😢
