- Is the 2020 HomePod Mini Dual Setup Any Good? In this video we are going to put the Apple HomePod Mini through its paces to give you an honest opinion regarding sound, cost and what this little devices have to offer.

Let’s start the video with an unboxing of the Apple HomePod Mini and let’s see what it has to offer.
From the Very Apple HomePod 1 I was impressed by the sound but underwhelmed by the assistant features.
So the Apple Home Pod Mini does it again: No screen, no buttons and a cable still attached to the unit.
The Apple HomePod price is $99 and a lot of people may be asking is if a HomePod is better than any of the Portable speakers on the market.
Well you are going to be able to hear it for yourself. We recommend you watch this video with headphones.
The HomePod mini comes in two colors, white and black and offer similar features as the HomePod one with an easier pairing system.
One of the things that made the Apple HomePod a great unit is it’s sound so could 2 Apple HomePod Mini be better than a HomePod 1 that at one point was priced at $300. If so the dual HomePod Mini setup will save you a whole $100.
Most people getting this unit are likely to get a great sounding speaker that is small and it looks good, but is the HomePod mini it?

I disagree. Two of these can CERTAINLY be a substitute or a new purchase for a sound system in a home. It depends on what you are looking for. Most people will be satisfied, I'm sure. Nowadays we don't need a conventional stereo sound system to enjoy quality music.

two full size homepods are FAR superior however two mini homepods on louder are a good alternative almost as good .

Can't power from mac mini. I forgot what watt this wall unit is I think 18W but I know on another review might have tried a 12W and didn't work. Recommended to just use the one that comes with it.

My sound bar died so I bought a second mini. They work very well. You need Apple TV to use them as tv speakers. I hear programs way better than before due to where I have them positioned.

It may be the better sounding little speaker. But it has low volume and I guess that is to avoid distortion.
love the video but fyi if you plug it into a computer it won’t work bc the power input is not sufficient, unless you have a computer that outputs 20w
you can not connect this to a computer, I've tried it and it jut blinks bcuz it can't draw the needed power to function.
By the way, I heard about new Tamron 70-300 lens. Could you do a review on that lens?

It is basically downward firing speaker, maybe you’d get better sound putting it on the desk than on the box.

It’s not wireless because HomePod also controls all of your HomeKit devices. It is the anchor for you lights, garage door opening all of that. So it has to be powered

No, you can’t do it. You need two homepods mini or two HomePod (1st gen).
Does this stereo pair work with MacOS ?
Yes. It does.
@@GastonShutters how do you go about that ? I heard that MacOS does not support AirPlay 2 which is what you'd need to pair multiple Homepod devices .
It comes with a charger & cheap because when you’re buying a “HomePod” you’re potentially gonna be buying some “HomeKit” accessories all of them profits Apple. You’ll use Apple Music subscription is next to sure for Apple and it’ll make steady profit for them for really long time it’s also the reason they made HomePods really robust. You’ll be fan of apple when you know how good decisions they make to make business

Maybe it’s just me but have you tried to them on the table not high up on boxes. I did the same thing put mines on a box then took it down somehow it sounded different 🤔.
I did what I could with the available resources I had. I think it illustrate the capability pretty decently.
Can’t see spending 600 for two HomePods so why yes it does sound better the two minis for 200 bucks does the job. If I really want a full immersive experience I use my AirPod max headphones and nothing beats 🎧 that experience

FYI it's not a charger.....the mini isn't a battery operated device - it's the plug for the wall.

But the speaker won’t work without the device, so they add it. Sure, you could connect it to a own power USB. I think it’s perfect.

Not if you plan to have them stationary. They will never be moved in my use-case. Hence, stationary cable is ok (but not optimal for sure).

I'm cringing. You can't test stereo reliably with speakers that close. Even such small speakers.
advice is to place 5 ft apart for dual , so pity this guy hasn't read / researched
