It is quite telling that this is the best interview I have ever seen with Eartha Kitt. She comes out with the same old stories, but there is something about the way that Terry asks the questions with fun, charm and humanity and listens ever so carefully, that the answers are imbued with raw emotion and honesty as if for the first time. I also think it is Terry's best interview, and though this is mere "light entertainment" there is a profundity here than commands attention.
Don't think I've ever seen so much mutual respect and warmth on a chat show - was not a big fan of either but I wish this chat had carried on for at least an hour... 😢. Think I'll have to read both their books. How maligned was Eartha in her lifetime? Then along comes an interview like this...👌🤔👌
She was such a beautiful soul and had such wisdom. She was 'woke' before it was a thing or cool to be so. I admire her vulnerability, she was truly unapologetically her and lived out loud despite all that life threw at her. Sleep on Queen Eartha, a fitting name too.
This was a 180 degree switch..from being the powerful coquettish woman to bearing so much of your vulnerable side..never seen such a switch in someones personality so quickly
I really think this woman will always be the epitome, of a strong black woman. She had so much talent and so much power in the strength of knowing who she was.
Eartha was one of my favorite people who will ever be. Mr. Wogan interviewed her with so much empathy, this was beautiful.
She was known for her distinctive voice

She’s mixed. That’s a HUGE part of her identity.
She was such an awesome person
Wouldn't get away with that tease dialog today.
