Whenever I think of Eartha Kitt, I remember her interview with Terry Wogan, she was playful, seductive, and emotionally raw. You could see her facade fading and wounds exposed. When she said, " A man has always wanted to lay me down, but he never wanted to pick me up. And the men that did have real love and affection for me, were the ones that never touched me." brought me to tears, cause I could relate.
@@thebee8415 Maybe they were either too enamored and made her an untouchable goddess, or they were familial ties and they couldn't. Either way, it sounds very lonely.

I read her daughter's book not too long ago and it just made me love Eartha even more! Super devoted mother and very talented artist. She's one of my favs.
Kitt's comments in response to Mrs. Johnson were brave and what certain people needed to hear. It was NOT that long ago, within my lifetime, when being a woman, being black, oiyee. This was before women could even have a credit card in their own name. Again within my lifetime. Younger people today I honestly don't think understand how recent that all was.
I may not be black, but she's my hero - her origins were so humble, and so harsh...and she didn't let ANY of it stop her. Not her humble origins, not racism, not America itself! She was passionate, intelligent, clever, and talented, and my only wish is that I could have shaken her hand. Thanked her. She's a woman all of us can look up to.

I like her in the movie "Boomerang" she use to always say Marcus darling but it sound like she was singing it whenever she would see Eddie Murphy and say his name.
Yep! She played that unforgettable role in my favorite movie.

Great video, do the Orson video!
Karine my momma is 83 and such a fan of hers. Your video prompted me to order a lovely original quote ornament from Eartha’s merch line. Eartha’s gorgeous daughter hand wrote a note and my mom was touched. Thank you lovely! ❤
A gorgeous legend! Nobody like her will ever exist again ❤️❤️❤️
I always LOVED Eartha, though I feel like I didn't know that much about her. Her Santa Baby, is IT! Her character in the Emperor's New Groove was the BEST part.
Looking forward to your take on Orson😏😉 Thank you for this!❤
I have Loved this Woman's talent and voice as far back as I can remember!
My Aunt had one of her albums and she would play it for us when we visited her.
In my life Eartha will always be there!
❤️❤️💐💐❤️❤️
Beautiful, classy woman. I'm glad her beloved daughter was with her till the end. ♥️
South Carolina born! Something about Carolina girls, best in the world 💖Eartha Kitt was so beautiful, interesting and real. There will never be another
Yes Karine do one on Mr. Orson Wells.
Eartha is everyone's radical grandma. I would take her health advice period. 💗
