    Oooh my favorite colors! I have 5ml tube of W&N one and I adore it. When it's finished I will buy a big tube of Rembrandt, because they are so similar but the later one is more affordable.

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  Рік тому +1

      Sono troppo d’accordo. Rembrandt è una certezza con un prezzo molto competitivo. E poi mi stanno troppo simpatici perché non si sanno arie!

    Thank you Elisabetta! I have W&N PV14 and Schmincke PV62. I got them for specific botanicals and I must say that I didn't like using them. But I'm now excited to try them for skies! I really like the demonstration on top of the cerulean.

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  Рік тому +1

      Thank you Johanne!! Yes they are hard to use for botanicals you hardly see them 😂 but I find them great in skies! Also I loved using them for berries.

    I agree with you, the M. Graham Cobalt violet is a bit muted compared to the other paints.

  • @awatercolourist
    @awatercolourist Рік тому +2

    How about the perylenes? I love their moody, muted darkness 🙂

    • @awatercolourist
      @awatercolourist Рік тому +1

      They’re all muted except PR178 which is a rather bright red pigment. It’s very similar to PR254, but more transparent.

    I find cobalt violet from m graham is more prone to dry up in tube, have you ever heard of that?

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  7 місяців тому

      Actually, I have heard (and experienced) that cobalt violet in general tends to dry up in tubes! Very unpleasant 😔. Thank you for your comment!

  • @paulinabm_
    @paulinabm_ Рік тому +1

    Is PR122 fugitive? I'm running a test and so far my white nights PR122 has not faded. While my quin rose from daniel smith, permanent carmine from schmincke and permanent rose from w&n, all pv19, shifted a little after a year of direct sunlight. About the cobalts, thank you for this tour. It confirmed my love for the W&N one, is lovely to work with. The one from daniel smith, I only like for mixing or using from a dry pan, never from the tube. It is too gummy for my taste. The one from Schmincke reminds me to ultramarine violet but I'm not sure, I don't own it. And the M. Graham, would you say it looks like PV16?

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  Рік тому +1

      Hi Paulina!! Thanks for your comment! I mentioned PR112 Naphtol Red as fugitive, not PR122…actually I double checked after your comment and this is a lightfast red! Other naphtol reds are fugitive but not this one… I will add a note in the description box…always interesting to compare experiences anyhow!! Thanks again for your contribution and have a lovely Sunday, Elisabetta

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  Рік тому +1

      Also, I’m planning a comparison of different violets, so stay tuned to see if M. Graham is closer to Ultramarine violet…interesting question is yours!

      Yep, you said 112 but for some reason I registered as 122. I'm not familiarized with 112, that's probably why I got confused. 😋
