    Out in the garden with the RSV4, a cup of coffee, a bunch of tools I don't know how to use, the potential of a glorious summer ahead and Griff on da'tube teaching me how to adjust my chain. Perfect Sunday!

    Bearings making noise on my 2018 Tuono factory at shop manual recommended 90 lb-ft, remembered seeing this at some point back back it off to 75, now it's smooth and happy!

      It says 120nm on manual isn't it? Why we should go with 100nm then?

    Geniuine query - I thought the chain tension on the RSV4 was meant to be set with the swinging arm off the floor i.e., the bike is lifted from the frame and tension then set.

    Hey, whats the best way for the 2021 with the new swingarm? Tuono or RSV4? Manual says 20mm measured on the TOP!

    I just done my sprocket nuts but 2 would not fully tighten although hard to turn with spanner, can see the stud is turning with the nut on them 2. Had torque set to 50nm. Is this a replacment of whole part or can the 2 be repaired to tighten down like the others?

    Great advice subscribed, if the nut is over torqued would it explain a bit of noise rotating the wheel ?

    Do you use grease and/or ‘copper-slip’ on the axle/thread/under the flange of the nut? Does this affect the torque value? I’ve seen comments on fb that torque should be reduced if lubricating the thread??

    • @APWorkshops
      @APWorkshops  4 роки тому +2

      I don’t put any copper slip anywhere near a spindle or the spindle nuts ..
      The trick is to keep everything clean and torque up correctly !👍🏻

  • @baumie4618
    @baumie4618 4 роки тому

    If the axle nut has been too tight, will this make the wheel "stiff" to turn by hand? I've torqued up the axle nut to 100 but I think the tyre shops must've over tighten it! So what would cause the wheel to be stiff to turn?....It's not making any noise and I had the bearings replaced.

    • @APWorkshops

      No the don’t need greasing they need cleaning properly !
      If they keep coming loose then replace thr nuts ... theyre nyloc type so should be self locking !

    Hi guys, my manual says to check chain tension my RS 660 while on the side stand. Is it ok to check while on a paddock stand or must the bike be on the ground?

      @@Maverick-moto the changed geometry of the suspension, and can affect the slack in the chain. But if you can figure out what that change (if any) is then you can make allowances.
