      Thank you! I am not a youtuber. I post my videos but don't promote the channel, work the algorithm, post the popular topics, or put up click-bait. I am an artist who likes to share his knowledge with others... ;)

    Great tutorial I was looking to create a knit look for some cartoon characters I'm working on and with the hexagon I can now make a diamond art effect to my art 😊 thanks for the great tutorial this really helped

      @2dgameartguru did you see the latest update to affinity design 2.3? It added the spiril tool and that made me think about your tree of life tutorial for affinity cause now you could copy the Inkscape tutorial more closely now that it's added. I'm not saying remake the tutorial just think now you would be able to make the same thing easier in affinity design

    I am definitely going to try this, it looks so complicated, but it's only because I have not tried it as yet

      It's not... as with most complex designs, the look is deceiving. You might want to check out the sample file on my gumroad page. The link is in the description.

    Great job at problem solving with this effect !!
    If you have strong nerves, you can try this kind of effect with Inkscape, using tiled clones and the trace option. It usually brings my computer to its knees or crashes a lot, but sometimes good things come out of it.

    Complete newbie, sorry. How do I increase the numbers of symbols/squares on the screen please?

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  7 місяців тому

      Select an existing row or column of symbols, hold CTRL and drag them [with snapping on] to create a duplicate, and then press CTRL[CMD] + J to duplicate again with the same spacing [power duplicate] to get the desired copies.

      @@2dgameartguru thank you. How do you power duplicate and how can I adjust the size of the artboard once ive started?. :) TIA

    • @2dgameartguru
      @2dgameartguru  7 місяців тому

      You are welcome! You can adjust the size of an artboard [like any other object] in the transform panel [lower right]. Tick the 'Lock Children' option to avoid scaling the content of the artboard as well.
      Power duplicate is just a repeated duplication [e.g. with CTRL+J]. Affinity will apply the same rotation, scale, and movement to the duplicates. E.g. duplicate a line and rotate it 30°, duplicate again and the result will be 30° from the last copy or 60° from the original. Duplicate 5 times and you close the 360°.
