- Hello designers and welcome to another Affinity Designer tutorial, in todays video we are going to create a takeaway coffee cup. It’s beginner friendly and an easy project to get started on. We will cover many tools in this tutorial but I’ll take it slowly and teach you step by step so you can follow along with me.
Affinity Designer V2 (2.3) Used in this tutorial.
I now have a SUPER THANKS button!!! So if you feel like buying me a coffee as a thank you, tap away!
If you have any questions or want to show me how to do something better, leave a comment, and don't forget to click like and subscribe.
NOTE: I'm Using a MAC, so any shortcuts I mention may be different for WINDOWS USERS. See the below for the WINDOWS:
- Mac Command key = Windows Ctrl key
- Mac Shift key = Windows Shift key
- Mac Alt key = Windows Alt key

Not enough of these kinds of tutorials in both Photo & designer. Please do more.
I certainly will! Thanks for the kind words
Agreed! We need more draw-this type tutorials.
Awesome! Finally someone who started from the very basics!
More of those to come!
Perfectly explained :)
Thank you 🙏
Very clear, don't forget CTRL options as we don't all have a Mac! If only the blasted ads were removed it would help, you just click something as described then the ads kick in and you are left for several minutes waiting for the next move!
Hi there, I try to include all the relevant windows shortcuts in the description. Making these videos take a long time and alot of effort, the ads give me something in return for my efforts, and ultimately make it free for the viewer. The alternative is a paid course.
love this! fun and educational tutorial, thanks!
Mission accomplished then thanks!
Love how you simply explain each tool you use as you go. I use the iPad version, hope to see iPad designer tutorials. Thanks
Thank you ! More to come. I still don't have an iPad 😂 one day
Again 👏🏻 great tutorial
Thanks for watching again !
So valuable. Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank You! love your video tutorial.
Happy to hear that Joel!
amazing tutorial thank you so much!
Glad you like it!
Another great tutorial. Thanks again for such an easy to follow video.
Thank you for watching catch you on the next tutorial
Your videos are so easy to follow. Just paid 17 bucks for a course that is full of bad audio quality and redundancy as he tries to cover both V1 and V2. Think you need a donate button on your web page if not an outright purchase button for a complete course. Good stuff here.
The only thing I noticed is that when I go to your site from Chrome, it tells me the site is not secure.
Thank you for that! I appreciate it, I am considering a course in the future but the app is updating so fast these days I'll wait for it to level out a bit.
In terms of the website, I've never heard anyone mention that, will look into it. Cheers
I have super thanks here on UA-cam.
@ArtistWright Think It might have only happened using the link in UA-cam. When I visited the site from Chrome it was fine.
I always forget about the knife tool for these type of edits. And I don't think I knew about double clicking a guide to bring up the options. Thanks.
Ah good to know there are still some tips for seasoned users. Nice to hear from you again
Hey you're never too seasoned to learn something new. Love your stuff. Keep it up! 🙂@@ArtistWright
Totally agree, I'm still learning too
Oh that’s cool. I love when my programs overlap shortcuts (my CAD does this double-click guides trick and I love it!)
I think Affinity must be trying to make it as easy as possible to switch
Great explanation. You make it look so easy!
Thanks, the more time you spend playing with affinity the easier it all becomes. You can do it too! 💪
That looks very nice!
Thanks!
Your can set guides faster with the menu options View -> Guides
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. I believe it's better to learn one way to begin with
Hi, Please activate the CC. Thanks.
It doesn't happen straight away, I will do it as soon as UA-cam activates it
Nice tutorial but I'm confused about your highlight placement... Sometimes it's on the left, sometimes on the right. Light reflection thingy doesn't match the rest of the highlights at all... I don't think that's how light works.
Useful tutorial technically though. Picked up a thing or two from it. I didn't know node handles could snap to guides for example, that's a nice trick to know. I probably would've used the corner tool to soften those hard corners
Hi thanks for watching, and for your feedback. Lighting can come from many directions, natural and synthetic. in this example there is more than one light source.. But remember it's a very basic tutorial... Glad you caught a few tips.
Ah, yeah that would work I guess.
No worries
