It feels soooo good to listen to this original version. Haven't heard that for awhile, mostly because it can't be found on any music streaming platforms out there, and I grew too lazy to listen to music from CDs. Listening those rerecorded versions feel sooo off. Those are good for sure, but this one have something called the power of nostalgia.
You only have to rip a CD once and you have it on your computer. I know keeping music on your computer is now as old fashioned and obsolete as playing CDs but until streaming services stop being shite my digital music collection is here to stay.
I think this version is much more mysterious and eerie. The rolling drums are very sexy, the vocals are more subtle and it doesn't have the cheesy harmonics on the guitars. Really glad I found it again!
this is the only version that i like wtf i couldnt find it anywhere but it IS on the original album...not even placebo have uploaded it on their channel!
Ah, finally - the original version! Haven't heard this since my copy of the album was nicked years ago. Weird how they felt it necessary to re-record twice, once for the single, once more for subsequent copies of the album. This is by far the best version!
That version was on the first edition of the first album...I borrowed it to a friend and taped it. When I bought the CD later, it had the single version on it (starting with these "noisy muted guitar strums")...
I'd pretend it doesn't exist if I couldn't hit the higher notes and vibratos of this versions.. (Unfortunately, the guy is losing his voice over time).
I thought I was being proper Mandela'd for a moment. This is how it should sound. You should definitely rename the video with "original version", took me ages to find this!
I did feel disappointed for "imagining" the song more "beefy".. But my sanity kept intact because I was sure the beginning was awesome, not some palm-muted strings..
I just read that they re-recorded the song for later pressings of the album and iTunes has the updated version with the newer version of the song. I just purchased the album on iTunes and was so confused when it got this song and didn't sound the same as I remember. Weird stuff. Will always be a great song no matter what but this version will always be my favorite because it's the first one I heard
When I dated a woman that I found love but she was a problem with alcoholism drugs and she had a daughter that was four years old she was smoke marijuana front of her daughter and it was sad because this song talks about her she had bipolo maniac depressions

@Page Page it is never too late to get reminded of this version :D Thanks for this notification!
No, it's nowhere near as good as the single version

That's why music and TV shows (even movies) must "exist" (both hard copy or in YOUR drive. Not provided by whoever thinks it's best for everyone.
The vocal take and guitar AR obviously better here but the label had to do something to justify owning it
I love this original version. Was going crazy because I could only find rerecordings of this gem.
love this version too
I love this version too but there is another one I’m looking for
Thank god ! the RIGHT version !!!

Better version for sure. Although it really highlights how much it was influenced by Suede's "The Drowners."
100% agreed. This one is BETTER they are at their best. Curious why the deletions
love the original version a lot

You should rename the title of this video to state it is the "original version". I can't see another version of it on youtube.
The proper version!...
Truth, I hate the redone version. Doesn't have the same kick and thrill to it!
@@winterlaine i hate it too
THIS is the version I remember! The guitar is great!
comic sans on point
Hooray for comic sans
Love this version!
Melhor versão!
They get it, all of it the pain the delight, everything in between. These songs fill in all the gaps . It's hits hard and true
I prefer the most popular version, as it feels more energetic. But this is the album version I got and it's funny Placebo pretend it doesn't exist. :D
I much prefer this version for the drums. I'm biased as a drummer, obviously...
Whenever they play it live they do so in the style of the original recording.
I'd pretend it doesn't exist if I couldn't hit the higher notes and vibratos of this versions.. (Unfortunately, the guy is losing his voice over time).
Omg why is this version not on spotify???
ikr
Younger generations can't take some rawness in sound.
Also: the guy is losing his voice, I guess they prefer to portray the re-arranged version because its easier to him.
I love this version compared to the single. A little slower, I can just dig it more.
The guitars feel more raw/beefy and I can swear the drums *feel* like other guy playing.
Someone had to write this......its a wonder it was a very lovely guy from Luxembourg.....xxxxx
yes finally found the original! thanks for this!

my guess is somehow Brian couldn't reach the high-note verses before the chorus anymore so they re-recorded the tune.
Awesome! Great video. Thanks for posting.
Rhythm very special 😍
You would not hear this on Radio 2 that’s for sure 😂
Esta versión supera por mucho a la original ❤️❤️❤️
Esta es la original. La primera versión del amvum teniacesta. Ha cambiado disde la segunda edición en delante.
“Alcoholic kind of mood lose my clothes lose my lube”👍🏻
Still got the original CD (Album) from when it was released.
this version is the best
Damn this song is catchy but there are some areas that need some re-working. I'd love to hear a few variations.
PHENOMENAL Thanks!!!
I like this song
Love.it.loveit.......xxxxx
Why isn’t this version on iTunes?
