    Thanks for the video! Maybe you can make a follow-up showing "insider" tips on how to lower the car insurance. For example what car types to look for, manufacturing year, horsepower, etc.

    Thanks for the comprehensive walk-through!
    I am looking to change my insurance as I pay too much. I remember looking at Getsafe in the past, for which I also saw a recommendation from you.
    However, I can't seem to find the offer they had. Did they change the offer?
    Do you still recommend them?
    Thanks!

    Great stuff guys. This is super helpful. I just made a deposit for a car and working through the insurance. A short question- in the event of an accident do you know if these companies offer services in English? Any tips to get around that?

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  Рік тому +1

      Currently, we are not aware of any English-speaking car insurance in Germany. You might get lucky to have an English speaker on the customer service phone, but all documents will be in German. You can use the camera function of the Google translate app to help understand those.

    Hi Yvonne! Thank you so much for the detailed information. I followed your instructions and got the insurance. But they still have not charged my account. Weren't they supposed to charge my account immediately?

    • @simplegermany

      Not always, sometimes they only charge a few days or weeks afterwards. It was the same with ours 😊

    Great! what if the car is in the name of a friend who lives in another state. Which documents do I need to register in my name? I appreciate it if you could give me some tipps

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  3 роки тому

      Hey! So a car can only be registered to one person in Germany and the person that the car is registered under does not have to be the car owner. Your friend could stay the car owner (Fahrzeugeigentümer) and the registered keeper (Fahrzeughalter) and you can simply use the car OR if your friend agrees, you could register the car under your name and become the registered keeper (Fahrzeughalter), which has no impact on your friend staying the car owner. The registered keeper of the car is essentially responsible for the car - as this person's name is in the registry. To register a car, whether you own it or not, you need the same documents as when you own it. We go into detail in our guide: www.simplegermany.com/how-to-register-a-car-in-germany/ - hope this helps! 😊

    Hi.. Thanks for this great video. I have one question. I bought my first car insurance through online and generated evb. With the evb car dealer did the registration. I am planning to pick my cqr tomorrow. However, I did not ge the insurance contract from the insurance company. I tried to call them. But they dont talk English at all. I did not understand them clearly. But looks like they told me that they will send the contract by next week. Is it safe to drive before getting the actual contract and insurance number! Sorry. This land is too complicated for me😇. Thanks again for all help..

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  Рік тому +1

      Yeah that could be, our insurance also took some time until the papers arrived via postal mail and they took even longer to charge the money 😅 That's why you get the ebv directly online, so you can already proceed with registering and picking up your car 😊

    Hi Yvonne. Thanks for the video and the channel.
    Do you know if we need a German license plate to get a german insurance? Some sources say so, and I still didn't manage to contact any isurance company to confirm the answer.
    On the other hand, is a german insurance a requirement in order to get a german license plate? I believe so.
    In the case that both answers are yes, that's an issue, because when the foreign insurance ends (my case in two weeks) the car gets in the middle of nowhere XD.
    Thanks!

    • @simplegermany
      @simplegermany  Рік тому

      As far as we know, you need a German car insurance in order to get a German license plate.

    • @pablogonzalezvizuete140
      @pablogonzalezvizuete140 Рік тому

      @@simplegermany Yes, but you will not get insured by a german insurance company if you have a foreign plate.
      The point is that to get a german plate, you need the eVB number from a german insurance company, but the insurance associated to that eVB number will only become effective at the moment in which you get the german plate, not before.
      So if you come with a foreign car, you need to get both german insurance and plate at the same time. Which means that you must be very carful with your origin country insurance deadline.
      Thanks!

    Hi, there, I'm so thankful for the video. It's such an informative content.
    But I have some questions here and here they are.
    So, I want to buy a car from Germany and transport it to my homeland.
    Ok, I can buy a transport insurance online, but how can I receive the documents (die Unterlagen) per Post.
    I don't have an adress
    registration in Germany, so I'm gonna recieve the eVb-Nummer, but how I receive the paper documents?
    And the next question is - I don't have a german bank account, can I pay with my foreign account?
    (Im from EU - Country)
    Can I transfer the money to the salesman with my EU - Bank account?
    I can speak German too, so that's not a problem for me personally.
    Somebody can explain that to me on German.
    Es wäre kein Problem
    Thank you
